Nothing anyone MIGHT want to watch is aired (or re-aired) and the “On Demand” is a complete lie! There’s never any games in it. Save your money and watch the highlights on YouTube the next day! Good luck overseas military!!! Smh

I signed up for ESPN Player as an alternative to watch US college sports here in Europe.
After a few months of hit and miss service, I sat down to watch some March Madness. The lagging, the disconnects got completely hopeless.
I contacted their online chat for service, and after a while the only suggestion they had was to remove the app, and then re-install it.
As I had failed to be impressed with the service so far, or the customer service solutions I asked them to cancel my account, and refund my money. They could not do that, so in a follow up mail to customer service I told them that the App was permanently deleted, and to not renew it.
They renewed it anyway, and are putting it on me the customer to prove that I requestedfor them to cancel it 8 months ago.
For the record; I have a decent internet connection (dowload 250-300 Mbps) so the problem getting a fast and stable connection was not on my side

All of the major important games are blacked out so what’s the point if all the championship or MAJOR games are blocked. For 200.00/ year WTH!! Come on

Awful Level of Customer Service
Awful Level of Customer Service. Contacted their support team by chat. William from ESPNPlayer was not only less than helpful but also lacked any sympathy for my position. When I questioned his manners and basic level of customer care, he ended the chat abruptly. I'm cancelling my subscription
SAVE YOUR MONEY FRIEND! Not Worth It At All!
ESPN player is an absolute joke of a service. It would genuinely not surprise me if it is one guy in his basement running the whole operation.
I bought to watch a certain weekend sporting event. I wanted to be able to view it on my phone so when I saw that ESPN player had an app I thought it was a good bet. Totally wrong. As soon as I paid, I downloaded the app as I was away from my laptop that evening. Didn’t work, the app showed no content. I complained to the website chat and explained that the app was a major reason for me choosing ESPN player. The person who replied (William) said that they are working on it. I asked when it would be fixed and the reply was the same. I explained that I would wait an hour but if it didn’t work by then I would have to peruse a refund and find another option. I was then told that no refunds were allowed to which I replied that that was against consumer rights and I would have to take things further. I then received a message saying, “good luck with that” and the chat was disconnected by him. It’s worth noting that the app didn’t work AT ALL the entire weekend.
I figured that with that level of idiocy it was better for me to just wait and watch from my laptop over the weekend.
The quality of streams were very poor and a lot of the time the picture would cut out and I would miss important bits. I grew used to it though. Then on Sunday, watching the catch up on demand, one video ended and I expected to find the last weekend video (roughly 3 hours worth) in the player. Did I though? Nope. The last, most important 3 hours of the weekend were missing. I went to the chat again, got the same William guy (they either have 1 account they use to chat or one guy, not sure which) who took ages to eventually tell me that they weren’t covering the last 3 hours. Rage.
Do yourself a favour and DO NOT use this site. It’s a pain to deal with, the quality is poor and it’s pretty expensive in comparison to other options.
No way to test quality ahead of time
Watched both live and on demand. Some issues with flash that required a reboot on both Windows 7 and 8 (a couple of times on each). Adaptive streaming was not great when live, and really bad when viewing on demand, ended up better once i found a bitrate that worked well (1600).
Don't buy, horrible quality, schedule and customer support
Quality is horrible.
Games that should be available (according to the ESPN website, they even link to ESPN player) are NOT. And off course these are the games that are worth watching.
Customer support does not reply, neither online chat or via mail.
Save your money, find other streams!!!
Bad bad quality, worst customer service!
After watching the sports on illegal free streaming channels for years, I thought about giving the legal streaming a try. So I paid the one day pass for espnplayer.com for ICC world cup. The pass was supposed to last for 24 hours, but when I tried it after 10 hours, it was gone! Since I didn't want to miss the match, I bought the pass again. This time it worked. But the live streaming quality left a lot to be desired. Although the images were clear, the stream got stuck every few minutes for few seconds, even at low bit rate. My internet connection cannot be blamed for that since I have 100 Mbps internet connection (tested download speed of 54 Mbps) while the max bitrate it's required to watch sports on espnplayer is 800kbps! I noticed that the stream quality was worse during the crucial junctures of the match, when supposedly more people are hooked to the stream. Anyway, after the match I tried to contact their customer service to get a refund of my day pass. Their online chat customer service is the worst I have experienced. I waited for at least 30 minutes for the operator to appear on the other side of chat screen but he/she never turned up. And I am still waiting for a reply to my email!
