No service - if I speak to the same uselss man on the phone, I might explode. No response to emails. Faulty charger resulted in PCN. Absolutely no help whatsoever.

Not okay!
We bought a house and the previous owner had disconnected the gas supply for fewer than 20 days. It is taking more than 14 days to get someone to turn the gas back on, meaning 14 days without warm water, where we need to shower outside the apartment - take a 25 min trip each time we want to take a shower at a friend's house. I have no idea in which universe they think it's okay to a) not hire more people b.) let people only work Mo-Fr c.) charge an extortionate disconnection fee and "threaten" to charge even more if not home. 14 days without warm water in a first world country. Unbelievable!
I used to charge my car at Esb energy…
I used to charge my car at Esb energy charging point for £0.45/kWh now it is almost double £0.74/KWh. It is very disappointing I will never charge my car again at ESb many charging point are cheaper then Esb.
Charge a fortune and need you to…
Charge a fortune and need you to pre-load their card to use them.
If you wonder why your bays are always empty…it’s because your business plan is awful.
ESB Energy are like Robin Hood in reverse......they take from the poor and give to the rich.
What can you really say about this cheapskate, tight outfit other than it takes from the poor and gives to the rich, and by that I mean it's EV charging points here in Northern Ireland.
This is a company that happily took tax-payers money to provide 'free' electricity for the wealthy owners of Audi E-trons, Tesla's, BMW and other expensive EV brands in order that they could 'charge up' for free!?
Since the introduction of the 'public' charging points, the then Department of Regional Development (NI), that's the incompetent Civil service to you and me, paid out £53,418 in subsidy up until 30th July 2015 (FOI figures).....so, in other words, nothing other than a freebie from the hard pressed tax-payer and simply pork barrel politics, but why doesn't that surprise me, after all, the Civil service love to throw money away like a drunken sailor on shore leave whenever these dummies are given half the chance.
But, it gets worse, because since the DRD cut of their tax-payer funding after July 2015-which I'm glad to hear because it proves someone in the Department has a pair of balls-ESB energy still didn't introduce any EV charging point pricing structure and to date never have and likely never will, so, lets all guess who's providing the funding subsidy now.....that's right, their customers!!??
Low paid and struggling ESB Energy customers are providing wealthy Northern Ireland EV owners 'free' electricity to charge up their expensive playthings out of their extortionate, ever increasing bills, you just couldn't make this farce up, seriously you couldn't....what a sad, pathetic joke it all is and I for one am not laughing one little bit.
Bungalow Blitz
1/ Online fault reporting glitch “mobile phone number doesn't match address” ….
Eircode insufficient address i.d , meter number essential.
2/ initial phone fault report, Sat., info not recorded/available to esb staff following Wed. The esb number used on Sat was not operational later (home worker, without computer?)
3/ I asked for 2 hours notice if Engineer was coming, got 40 minutes.
4/ Two large, separate, trucks turned up, to replace an outside fuse (lightening strike), which didn't need my presence.
5/ The staff were excellent, both online ((HQ)) and on site .(With all rhe available staff, esb still outsourced the recent smart meter upgrades )
6/ Similar fuse replacements were needed on the houses either side of mine (temporarily vacant) and this was noted on the system but didn't trigger any automatic action (3 fuses, 4 trucks and teams?)
Brilliant customer service
Brilliant customer service, prompt and helpful and polite!
Impossible to get through and speak to…
Impossible to get through and speak to someone in ESB. Between ringing Electric Ireland and ESB several times and being pushed from Billy to Jack by both of them regarding my simple query about the best rate to be on as we have recently got an electric car we are still be wiser. I rang again recently and hung up in frustration!! I’m with them since 1980- some loyalty!! Very annoying and frustrating. Barry Reddan
ESB ENERGY
I've been getting letters and emails from this company telling me I owe them £350 and now it's been passed to a collection agency who will visit my property worse thing is ive never heard of this company or even had an account with them I've been with octopus energy for years.
Would have given no stars if I could
Would have given no stars if I could. They took nearly £500 dd payment instead of the £42 as had been arranged. Overestimated bills and refused to accept readings and rubbish customer service. Even after time and effort with taking complaint to Ombudsman received a paltry amount of compensation. ;( Unfortunately then switched to Peoples Energy, which is whole different story
Dangerous Driving and Thuggish Behaviour from an ESB Employee.
An E.S.B truck driver pulled out under me on the Dundrum Road in Dublin recently. I beeped the horn to alert him to his dangerous driving. He then stopped his truck in the middle of the road, hemming me in, and began making taunting and intimidating gestures. Disappointing and thuggish behaviour from an ESB employee.
(Dashcam footage of the incident is posted on my Facebook page. Trustpilot won't allow links in reviews).
Complete shambles of a company what a joke
Purchased a new property 6 months ago I got my login information for my online account and that’s where the problems started! I attempted to create an online account but I was unable to, after a 50min wait to speak to someone in customer services I found out due to a gdpr issue at their end And I could not create an account I was told another team would contact me within 3 working days. 2 weeks later still no contact and another 50 mins on the phone I get through again and I’m met with the same issue of unhelpful customer services staff. I’ve filled in multiple online help form but it all falls on deaf ears we are still having this battle 6 months in and I’m no further can’t wait to switch due to extremely poor customer service possibly the worst I’ve ever seen just avoid this company at all costs there completely useless.

Stay away from this company! They will never accept their mistake and will take your money for it. Liars and thieves. The worst customer service also, they have no idea what they are doing and they seem are not trained at all. When somebody picks up the calls which is very rarely they are cutting off in the middle of the conversation.Ended up having to pay hundreds just because of their own mistake. And Ombudsman wasn't so helpful either.Just go with Octopus or other company which cares and respects their customers.

This “company” is so bad I’m not even annoyed anymore, they’re so pathetic it’s just laughable now. Adding to my previous list of complaints which went to the ombudsman, the ombudsman have, quite rightly found in my favour, despite esb’s attempts to appeal, and I was supposed to have received £100 compensation and a written apology by Monday 4th April, it’s now Wednesday 6th and, as I had predicted, nothing from them. Well there’s a surprise!

I have moved the city not just the house in December and have completed their house move form ....I have asked to finish the contract long ago and I have been transferred to SO instead whom I have already contacted claiming they'll switch off and refund but instead have taken two more payments ever since.... So they have switched me to a company without my permission instead of ending my contract or changing the name to the actual landlord of that house. I want my money back. Mrs Andreea Boloca, wife of Mr M.Tahir-ul-Qadri.
Terrible customer service (that is when…
Terrible customer service (that is when someone eventually bothers to contact you back) this company has continually lied and evaded responsibility for their errors. Avoid!
Absolutely disgusting company .
Absolutely disgusting company .
Started my elderly mother on a new fixed rate contract at £54 a month duel fuel and after 3 months of not accepting payment from her they sent he 2 bills totaling a little over £800 . They don't like to answer calls and when they do they cut the call mid conversation . When yoy do speak to them for long enough they claim your meter readings are incorrect . Energy ombudsman has been contacted and are going to be taking over . To anyone having issue make sure you contact the energy ombudsman !!!! Esb are a foul thieving lying company!
No words can describe how bad this…
No words can describe how bad this company is. Over charged me on a bill and decided to ignore my calls. Lied to me about the price and never told me about the exit fees. I will be telling everyone not to go with this company. British Gas is cheaper and they are supposed to be the most expensive.
Nightmare when things are wrong!
ESB generated my final bill based on their estimation and ignored the real meter readings provided by my current supplier. While I try to communicate with them about the readings, they continuously use the debt recovery company to threat me and ask me to pay them immediately. It's horrendous experience with them, waste me 6 months to talk with them and keep asking them to stop the debt recovery company to chase me. NEVER WORK!!!
Their estimation is £200+ higher than real numbers. The meters are digital, my current supplier gave them the real numbers, but they still use their estimation to charge me! TOTALLY INSANE! Take 6 MONTHS to email them about the real readings, but never solve the problem!!!
The debt recovery company is like a DOG (very loyal kind), I told them the bill is not right, ESB agreed to check again. But the recovery company does not care my statement, keep asking me to call them urgently and pay immediately! DOG DOG DOG!
For some years everything has been fine…
For some years everything has been fine with ESB and I have left it 5 star reviews on more than one occasion but since its merger with SO Energy customer service from both companies is non-existent. Email sent to ESB on 22nd January has still not been responded to by 4th February other than an acknowledgement from an unmonitored mailbox. After 39 minutes waiting on the phone at ESB a rather unhelpful female customer service employee was unable to help with a merger enquiry and missing account credit brushing me off with a comment akin to 'it will sort itself out in due course'. The customer service from the new company is even worse. Between us my neighbour and I have over £700 in missing account balance credits and nobody will explain where if has gone as nothing other than last months direct debit is shown as the only credit on both accounts. I used to recommend ESB to anybody who would listen but sadly can do this no longer.
