Clean and friendly gym

Does the job, affordable memberships. Could do with more classes in the evenings/weekends, I currently pay for the more expensive membership to get classes but don’t get the opportunity to go to classes very often. Also frustrating now that you need an app to access the front door whereas before it was face recognition. The balcony is nice to use in the summer.

I've been a member for nearly 2 years and I've been going to all sorts of gyms for all my adult life, but this is some next level laziness. Here is what to expect on a regular day at the Energie Fitness in Canterbury: want to do some bench press? Not enough bars for all the benches, so often you have to go hunting for one and add to your waiting time. But then surprise, you either get odd weight disks (20.4kg mixed with 20kg ones), or you have to go hunting again for any other size of disks. Want to do some dumbbells instead? Good luck, there are one pair per size, so again you will wait a while for anything between 7.5-15kg to become available. Then there's the noise, some people love to smash their weights to the ground just so everyone in the whole neighbourhood can hear how hard they are working. If you haven't been distracted enough by that, they will proceed to make grunting noises for every single movement. Don't count on their wi-fi either as it's unreliable and if a machine breaks down, it will take around 6 months to be fixed. I paid 1 year of month to month and then decided to go for the yearly contract and 10 months into that I've had enough and wanted to cancel it, but they are so greedy they refuse to end my contract early. So be careful which option you choose.

The
Énergie fitness in Canterbury has got a little bit better than from when I wrote the last review. The machines have been fixed, it's just certain free weights like dumbbells and barbells that need a service. I must say Emily, Anthony and Charlie have done wonders at the gym, they have changed the gym in a good and friendly way. A survey wouldn't go amiss with what customers would like. Classes would a bit too. Toilets are always clean and they have ensured that the gym is running well, unlike in the past. I would recommend them, very helpful and always try to maintain a great service. I do think the owners of the franchise should listen to their employees a little more as they are really trying, Emily does put her heart in the gym and so does Anthony and Charlie and a few of the new ones are getting the hang of the place. A good atmosphere and people there are quite friendly once you get to know them a little. Thanks for making the gym a better place to what it was.

I recently joined the Energie gym in Canterbury after a recommendation from a friend to try it out. The staff were very helpful, with one in particular taking time to show me the machines and equipment that I wanted to use. The staff are friendly, and for visits during working hours I can be sure to get access to the equipment that I need. Recommended!

Since joining the gym in October 2023 the stair master has been out of order which has been quite annoying. It also seems that regularly other pieces of equipment are also out of order limiting my workout. I understand problems occur but they seem to take a while to fix. The staff are very helpful and welcoming.

I like the informal atmosphere and simplicity of the gym. Staff are welcoming and attentive. Changing and toilet/shower area always clean and tidy.Equipment is straightforward and no-nonsense, geared to serious fitness training. My only criticism is that one or two pieces of equipment have been out of service for far too long. But a good gym and good value. 👍🏽

The Great people always greeting me at 6am for early morning gym sesh!

Been going for sometime and there is always something out of order. Nothing ever gets fixed. No one greats you and there is a severe lack of equipment. The showers are cold and there a literally no redeeming qualities. If it wasn’t my closest gym I wouldn’t go. Stay clear!

Nice friendly and helpful staff..
The equipment could do with an update here and there but it’s is functional.
Have yet to experience a class can’t comment on that as they keep getting cancelled which is disappointing. It’s good that the staff ensure to let you know though.

Good overall however there are to few lockers and an extra benchpress would be neccecary.

Everything great

All around great gym, the staff are cool and helpful and there is a range of equipment. The only thing that prevented me from giving it the full five stars is the deadlift platform. The deadlift platform has been broken for some time with dents so customers have to use awkward areas to deadlift and there is a lot of loud noise.

Friendly staff. Good induction.

Energie fitness is a great place to train, nice open space so we can breathe easily not like most places where we are breathing recyclable air.
The gym floor is a nice place to meet some cool people and also enjoy your workout.

What made my experience? It's all about listening my body and accepting the reality each days and each times before each action so it becomes adaptive to me that's.
