No support AI anti cheat bans non cheaters
I am a 43-year-old veteran gamer and I have never cheated in my life. I was recently slapped with a 30-day ban (until May 2nd) for a "false positive" that I couldn't even control.
The Reason: I was dead and spectating my teammate. My teammate accidentally fell through the map due to a geometry glitch (a bug in the game itself). Because I was spectating him, the AnyBrain AI anti-cheat flagged my account for "abnormal behavior."
The Support: I contacted support (Ticket #774523), but I only received automated AI responses from "ChromeHearts" claiming the ban was correct. There is NO human review, only bots talking to bots.
Warning: If you play this game, you are at risk of losing your account simply by being in a squad with someone who glitches through the floor. The "guilt by association" logic in this game is dangerous for innocent players.
I loved this game, but I cannot support a developer that punishes loyal players for their own technical failures. Stay away until they fix their AI moderation.

I have over 400 hours in Arc Raiders and was abruptly banned due to their "anti cheat" system detecting abnormal gameplay. I have never cheated in any game in my life nor would one expect to play this long and just now be detected. There is no logic, specific behavior, or scenario provided with there system for the ban.

Embark Studios is a joke. One of the worst studios out there at the moment. They do not care about you. They only care about profits. They grossed over $400 million off of Arc Raiders and they use AI for their anti-cheat, their support and take a hands off approach to doing literally anything a dev studio should be doing. They do not have a human team.
Who's bright idea was it to have a wonky automated anti-cheat that will ban you for something as simple as plugging in a mouse or using an app on your PC in the background that HAS NOTHING DO DO WITH gaming or exploits. You will be banned for no reason, no reason at all no matter how much money or time you invested in their product. You get nothing but the same automated response. They will not give you a reason of why you were banned...only an automated response along the lines of "you violated our TOS". Okay, how? Explain, explain what I did? Don't give us an automated AI chatbot and put our ticket in a multi-month hold or ban use wrongly. Embark will ban a disabled player using a Quadstick but will not ban the actual players using legit exploits or hacks.
They want you to pay $40 for their product, buy their overmonitized slop in-game and when you get falsely banned they basically tell you to deal with it. Absolutely one of the worst dev studios out there at the moment. Do not give this studio any more money. They do not deserve it.

It happened to me finally.
They really do have a problem with false bans and AI automated support. I'm bit of a sweaty player, I know. But I haven't really done anything against TOS? I don't even really VOIP too much unless I need to. I don't scream slurs or foul words but I do take out Raiders and take loot. At most I make baby noises to them and tell them to have good luck next time. At most my strats are "toxic" but it's all within TOS of the game. No clue what I did here to deserve it. Last 2 matches I killed people and boom, automated ban mid-match. I reached out to support and I know that AI didn't review anything on my account. It was an automated response, it didn't look at a thing. You can't even talk to a human being. I didn't even do anything man.
"Observed behavior results in an unfair advantage over other players. Because it undermines fair play, it interferes with other players' use and enjoyment of the game, which is a violation of our TOS". Okay, but what did I do? I did nothing to break TOS.
If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Loved them before I got instantly perma-banned with no waring or proof. Went to support and they said their systems detected Iwas using cheating software and tools. All their responses are scripted. There was no way to even attempt to appeal the ban even though there's no possible way I cheated. My stats are trash too, it's not like I had a good game and got banned. Terrible customer service... if there's even people running it. No longer want to play Embark games.
With regards to Arc Raiders, I also had a glitch and didnt receive my rewards for trials that I did alongsidemy partner. They said I needed to complete the trial to get the reward... everything is an automated response and nothing I said was actually responded to.

Guys grew fast and I understand it's perhaps hard to scale up the support teams to handle the load, but this is unaceptable. Months after the game launched and their team takes weeks to respond and every response is 'we're still looking at your case'. I lost access to Arc Raiders and they made no attempt to help.

absolutely positively the WORST company/studio ive ever purchased from and attempted to get into contact with their support team. they send ONE automated ai support message and then never respond to the ticket for months and then their game is broken falsely banning legitimate players by the thousands while the actual cheater run rampid and theyve dont NOTHING TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. 1/10 do not recommend buying this game. i bought 6 copies for myself, my kids, and 2 buddies and ive requested for refunds already.

Terrible customer support / eu laws violation
Customer support in gaming often only gets to work when there is significant online drop or the store doesn't work. I contacted support (discord) because I was experiencing lag spikes, and after testing, I found that Finals is the only game lagging for me today. This prevents me from playing ranked matches and spoils the experience for both my teammates and me, as my character simply can't move. The support team responded with “everything is good” seeming to believe I have nothing better to do than imagine non-existent lag. Their attitude feels like “we don't care, try again later” and I don't understand what these support agents are paid for.
UPDATE:
I don’t know whether this is related or not, but very shortly after my review was published, my Embark account was blocked (Xbox console) for the reason stated as: “we have confirmed the use of software or tools that provide an unfair advantage in the game.”
In other words, the wording itself (“this OR that”) suggests a lack of clarity regarding the actual reason for the ban. My attempt to request concrete evidence has so far been unsuccessful - I have received no response.
I have spent my own money on this game, and recovering it has now become a matter of principle rather than the amount itself.
In light of recent changes in EU and German digital services laws, platforms are now subject to stricter transparency and consumer protection requirements (including under the Digital Services Act), and they can no longer dismiss account bans without clear justification. If this issue is not resolved, I will escalate the matter by submitting complaints to the relevant German and EU consumer protection authorities, including but not limited to:
• the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net),
• Verbraucherzentrale (German Consumer Protection Agency),
• the Federal Office of Justice (Bundesamt für Justiz),
• recognized Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) bodies,
• and other competent regulatory or legal authorities in Germany.
Not overly happy
Not overly happy. So my steam got hacked also wasnt happy about, but got that figured everything was all good after the fact. Go to play ARC and bam banned, ok sweet get ahold of Embark studios and make a ban appel included all the info needed even threw in my steam support ticket to prove the fact my steam did Infact get hacked. Basically got told to go hoop my hat. If I could give embark negative 5 stars I would.
