Other than the OTP in email process, I love Elevatepay. I have been using this to pay and receive payments with people I do business with outside of Bangladesh

Not a Bad Alternative to Other Payment Platforms

I have been using ElevatePay for more than a year. Initially, it worked well, but later they asked us to withdraw our funds as they were discontinuing their current banking partner and moving to a new one. As a result, my account was closed for almost six months. After that, my account became functional again, and I have been using it since then. So far, it has been working well. The only option I really need, which is still missing, is SWIFT transactions.

Great product

Great product - filling a gap for USD wallets in Pakistan and on point customer support makes life easier. Would appreciate better exchange rate with Apple Pay enabled cards like before.

great cost effective option…

Elevate is a great option for receiving freelance payments at extremely competitive price compared to predatory alternatives like Payoneer which has been exploiting pakistanis for so long due to lack of competition (charging upto exorbitant 4-5% combined on incoming and outgoing)

so we really need services like Elevate so as to reduce the cost of receiving money from abroad

Getting paid in USD in Pakistan

Getting paid in USD in Pakistan doesn’t give you many options, which often forces you to compromise. Before Elevate Pay, I was using Payoneer and faced PRC issues along with heavy fees. So far, my experience with Elevate Pay has been great. The fee is fixed and minimal, and they now also provide automated ePRC when you withdraw to Meezan Bank as salary.

Elevate Pay Withdrawals Create Banking Issues for Freelancers

I withdrew USD from Elevate Pay expecting it to be processed as a bank remittance. However, when the funds reached my bank, the transaction appeared as a normal local bank transfer, not as a remittance.

This creates serious issues:
- The bank does not recognize it as a remittance
- No proper remittance documentation is available
- It may cause future problems with tax, compliance, and bank verification for freelancers

What’s most disappointing is that this was not clearly communicated in advance. As a user, I expect transparency regarding how withdrawals are classified.

⚠️ If Elevate Pay cannot ensure remittance-classified transfers, this should be clearly disclosed before withdrawal.

I hope the Elevate Pay team addresses this issue seriously and either:
- Ensures withdrawals are processed as remittances, or
- Clearly informs users about the transaction type beforehand

Based on my current experience, I am not satisfied.

The account opening process and customer support must be improved immediately.

I have heard about them a lot, and mostly negative reviews. They had spend a lot on marketing. But towards performance and quality, it looks like they never ever spent a penny.

From the start I heard about their issues in account opening, transactions frauds and failures etc. And now when after more than a year of their existence in Pakistan, which should have been enough to settle every issue of their ends, still I am unable to receive any info of how long will it take for them to complete the registration process for opening my account.

November 24th, 2025, I applied for an account opening. Their apps shows, the account opening takes a few days, but due to high volume it can take upto 10 business days. Today is December 12th, 2025. Almost 20 days in total. And I don't know if it's gonna work or not.

The only thing I know is that I can only wait for them to process my application. That's because they have tried everything so that we can never contact them. Emails aren't responded, and their social media accounts like on Facebook, they don't have the messaging functionality. And comments and all other reviews are ignored.

I have turned as a final solution towards TrustPilot to warn others that it could be potential data leak. If you go to an actual bank, they won't ask you that much questions, the account processing is instant there. But here in ElevatePay case, which is just like a Microfinance Bank kind of project and not an actual bank, this all looks sketchy that they ask you web-links for your freelancer accounts profile and then they ask you to show proof of earning from that platform, and then they ask for address verification documents which is also a privacy issue because you are still not registered yet, who knows they reject you're application and steal your information.

The process should have been different, and the customer support should be more visible and available.
Just opening an account/registering shouldn't be this much complex, they should have a user portal like other websites. Only email should be enough to open that. Then inside that account, the users should be able to have more customer support and chatbots options and other reading material available so they know what they should focus on and is relevant to them. Just like algorithms of YouTube, Facebook etc. They won't tell you about the whole world if you don't have that data, by default the local area people and content is visible.
Similar to all this, ElevatePay should give everyone an entry to have a feel of the platform, and learn, and then when it's the time for the transactions, only then they should be necessary required to have documents verification etc.
But before all that, inside the basic user account the user should be able to register and learn, when he/she will see the reviews on other platforms, then he/she may chose to proceed further for opening a bank account. Before that he/she may be able to upload documents through their user portal to get them verified. They would be a little relaxed that if one document for a specific case/phase is rejected, he/she can only replace that one (1), and not sending the whole application or all documents again and waiting in queue so each sub-division/department does it's part of verifying a specific document. This way the concerned team will be only reviewing documents concerned to them. The TRUST issue is very complex, getting a response that user's application is rejected or user is banned from opening bank account is more frustrating because in such scenarios getting out of the platform means having no direct contact with the platform teams. This definitely increases fake account openings and loss in retention of genuine users, but it can work in the opposite direction as well. I think more users leave due to frustration of not getting a handy response and repeating a complex process again and again.
The strategy I discussed can be used to support the users, while ensuring a barrier before allowing transactions to avoid fraudulent transactions.

If you got more queries, more discussions can improve understanding in this matter.
Good luck, and thanks for considering taking a look to my review.

I wish you best of luck, and hope your team will fix things soon so I can edit and change this review to a positive score.

Account Suspended Without Explanation — Extremely Disappointing Experience

I am writing this review to share my disappointing experience with the Elevate Pay app. My account was suddenly blocked and deleted without any prior notice, explanation, or justification. I received no warning, no clarification, and no communication from their support team regarding the reason for this action.

As a user, I expect transparency and professionalism—especially from a financial service provider. Unfortunately, Elevate Pay failed to provide even the most basic level of customer support.

This lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. I hope the company improves its processes and starts treating customers with the clarity and respect they deserve.

I cannot recommend Elevate Pay based on my experience.

The number on their app for customer services is useless

The customer support number on their app, never connects to a person. It always answers as an automated operator and hangs up. I’ve tried calling this number numerous times, and it always gets disconnected after 30 seconds. This number is clearly provided on their app.

Update: so basically i did not know their working hours because it did not match the working hours of where i am but they ended up calling me back and telling me their work hours and i never had issues connecting with them after

Relaying on another bank which is nightmare sometimes

I was a fan of ElevatePay because they provided a reliable way to store money and spend it on the go. Initially, they didn’t charge any extra fees for card transactions, but later they started charging fees and offered lower exchange rates. While this wasn’t ideal, the real issue was their transition when they switched parent banks. They blocked every functionality and asked users to withdraw all their money, which was a nightmare and severely damaged trust. It’s been over three months, and they still haven’t partnered with a new bank. I’m unsure if they’ll repeat this pattern again.

Fast Money Transfer

Elevate Pay provides USD bank account and by using that I have get money from platforms and then transfer money to my local bank in PKR. Its service is very helpful and fast. So if you are freelancer then clients can easily transfer you money by using bank account details provided by elevate pay. One things that lacks is Debit card, they do not yet started their debit card for Pakistani account holders.
