Elan Vacations Reviews 

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience with Elan Vacations. We've vacationed several years in OBX and 2017 was our first renting with Elan. When we showed up to our rental house, it was a mess...you could tell that it had not been properly cleaned from the previous renters. There was trash everywhere, so much that I wouldn't be surprised if even the previous renters had issues and they didn't get taken care of. The outside was also a mess. When we called the office to see about someone coming out to take a look, we felt like we were inconveniencing everyone involved, from the person on the phone to the people that came out to clean. When we tried calling again to complain we were told that the cleaner was fired (not our intention, or our issue)...all we wanted was someone to take ownership of the situation and to apologize and make it right, none of that happened the whole week we were there. It was a very disappointing experience. Like I said before, my family has vacationed in the OBX for several years and we will likely be there again, but never again with Elan.

Elan was great! I'd never rented a place, sight-unseen, and they were very helpful with all of my questions. All of their site's instructions were clear and there were lots of pictures of their properties, so you really know what you're getting. I have nothing bad to say about them.

They are easy to work with. They are personable and seem to care if you have a good experience.

Reliable. THey handle issues quickly and like they would if they were the owners.

The staff was pleasant, friendly, and genuinely wanted our vacation experience to be memorable.

We stayed @ The Simple Life OBX last Sept. 2017. There were 4 adults & one 13 mo. old. We really enjoyed our stay, even though we lost the first 3 days due to the rain & cooler weather (Hurricane Jose). The house was very clean and totally met our needs. The pool was a lifesaver with the baby, since she was afraid of the beach & ocean. The beach was clean, wide and mostly level with a nice beach access, which was a close walk away. Also, it was a short drive to grocers, restaurants & stores. We would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone.

We have rented from Elan 2 years in a row now and have had a great experience both times.

Elan office staff made an error and double booked a property in Corolla for 2018. When they called to inform us of their error and to cancel our rental confirmation, they were rude/discourteous and failed, as promised, to follow up with help to find another property.

HOUSE WAS VERY WELL REPRESENTED. NICE PEOPLE DURING CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT PROCESS. NO ISSUES AT ALL. ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS LEADING UP TO BOOKING THE HOUSE. GAVE A NICE WELCOME PACKAGE WITH COUPONS AND THINGS TO DO WHILE WE WERE ON VACATION.

Elan has been very responsive to both our guests and to us.

We have used Elan for several different houses in OBX. They have always been very easy to work with, good communication and the homes have always been as represented on their website. And who doesn’t like a BBQ waiting for them when picking up the keys!

House was exactly as described and well-maintained. Check in with Elan was easy - even provided a great hearty snack, which was so welcome after our long drive that day. We had a small problem in the house. They responded quickly to our call and resolved the issue immediately.

The team is always very helpful and friendly.
I like the standards that are provided in the rental houses, like sheets/towels/beach equipment etc where you have to pay usually extra if you book with other rental agency

We started out with a couple ensues but worked through them , that’s was a pluse they were great in there response to correct it , the family had a wonderful vacation at the beach in a great house , going back this year same house

I would recommend this company to anyone! The house was absolutely wonderful. It was well kept and very clean.

House to rent, contract signed in August. Owners switched to Twiddy, Stairway to Heaven, raised rent by $7000. Phone call from Twiddy.. last week, didn’t offer to help find a place. When I called Elan, told it wasn’t your responsibility to make us aware of the sale and didn’t offer to help find another home. Pretty slim pickings left at this point.
Also told they had no idea when our refund would be coming. Thought your business was customer service.. not so much!

It was our first time booking a vacation with Elan Vacations and we had a blast! The staff was so hospitable, booking was a breeze and they kept us up to date with attractions and events going on around the area during the time our family event was planned. They have a variety of beautiful homes to choose from that meet our needs for our family size as well the amenities we desired. We look forward to returning back for our next Family Reunion!
