Avoid, Avoid, Avoid

Avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid. Dishonest business model. Very poor, dismissive, and arrogant customer care team. They refuse to address complaints, and give clients evasive responses. This company has questionable ethics. I have asked for my account to be deleted, instead, they locked me out and I have no access to my account to delete. Do not sign up.

Blocked from Account & They Won't Cancel/Delete

Blocked from my account and pressured into uploading a 'selfie video' to regain access, under the pretense of 'age verification'. I refused. I'm a couple of months in to a 12 month subscription and would never have consented to audio/video data collection if proposed during signup. Who knows what they will use it for?! I requested account acces to be restored, which was denied, and I escalated further with no progress. I then requested cancellation and a refund for the unusable remaining months, but was denied again. I then asked for my account and photos to at least be deleted, since i no longer have access to do it, but this was denied too. I guess they like keeping accounts active to fudge their user figures?
I'm reporting them to Fair Trading next and pursuing a full charge-back from my credit card company for their breach of contract. Keep a wide berth from this company.

This company is nothing but a fraud…

This company is nothing but a fraud…
They tricked myself and countless other individuals into signing up for a yearly contract but had it set up and worded to look like a monthly pay as go use… as soon as I realised (within a couple hours) I contacted the company. They then told me “too bad” I asked for my profile to deleted and they told me it has… to only to continue to get people matching my profile.
I have now Involved NSW fair trading… PayPal ect. They are also being investigated for the exact same issue I have just mentioned.

They are a sneaky, fraudulent company! Since I contacted PayPal and it was out I to investigation, eharmony have them threatened me to pay the entire year in full… or they’d be after me.

They are a disgusting scam of a “business”. I can’t wait until they’re hit with a huge lawsuit.

I would strongly advise anyone…

I would strongly advise anyone considering eHarmony to think twice before signing up.

When I joined, I wasn't given the option to pay monthly. I was forced into a six-month subscription, even though that's not what I wanted.

Since joining, I've experienced ongoing issues with the app. It regularly freezes, lags, and performs poorly. The matches I've been shown have also been completely incompatible with my preferences, making the experience even more disappointing.

I followed all of the troubleshooting steps recommended by customer support, but none of them resolved the problems. After repeatedly experiencing these issues, I contacted eHarmony multiple times requesting that my subscription be cancelled. Despite explaining that the app is not functioning properly for me, they have refused to cancel my subscription.

To make matters worse, I asked several times to escalate my complaint to a manager, but those requests were also refused. I feel completely ignored as a customer. Rather than working towards a fair resolution, they have continued to insist that I remain locked into a service that I no longer wish to use.

The customer service has been extremely disappointing, and I feel trapped in a contract for a product that has consistently failed to meet reasonable expectations. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend eHarmony.

Zero if I could. Absolutely rubbish 🗑

Zero if I could. I paid for 6 months. All I received were fake profiles. You could lol because you could clearly see different architecture to our in Australia. European wall power sockets. Cars with the steering wheel on the other side. I am talking about photos on supposedly Aussie profiles. Thief company! Total legal scam. Pure fraud! I wanted to cancel earlier and get some refund after exposing their fake profiles. No replies.

The worst dating web

The worst dating web. You can not get rid of them easily. What they are care of , it is just to sign you by force for 6 month to be able charge your money for doing nothing. I would stay away from this web.

Is it a common trend or a certain pattern on Eharmony that your matches are removed all the time?

Every time I came across someone who seemed genuine she disappeared from the site the next day. Overall I like SttDate.com
They are definitely ahead of the competition in terms of quality. I'm done with Eharmony. They only take your money but the whole experience ultimately leads to disappointment. There are so many fake accounts, but the ones that seem real and down to earth inexplicably vanish into thin air for some reason. And yet, they don't let me cancel my membership easily. It is very complicated technically. If you have paid them at least once they don't want to let you go easily.

What a joke deleted my account 4 weeks…

What a joke deleted my account 4 weeks ago still have people looking at my profile and clicking on my account the last one was tonight. I have also had 2 other likes since closing my account. It about time our government did something for the real people and shut this site down. All they are doing is ripping people off and playing with people's mental health.

Terrible dating site

I was very clear and had to put it at the top of my profile that no one should contact me who lives more than 50kms away. Even though I had put this in my settings. I keep getting men from almost everywhere contacting me - absolute nonsense site. Minimum 6 months membership is crazy and also trying to get them to remove the auto charge after 6 months - you have to write to them. Absolutely the worst dating site ever. DO NOT SIGN UP

The government will not allow eharmony…

The government will not allow eharmony to delete inactive profiles even when directly requested as its used for collecting information.
The site is expensive and non response matches as the profiles are simply sitting there undeleted.
Poor format and in general a BIG waste of expensive money.
Watch for auto renewal, many get trapped.
They offer so called discounts which is a lie. The original price is overinflated as this is a psychological trick to make you think the site has a quality about it that does not exist.
In general a waste of money

Terrible experience with this platform

Terrible experience with this platform. While a paying customer I noticed a lack of new users, no matches and no potential at all. I quickly noticed this was a scam and that the other dating platforms have waaaaaaay more users. Now my overpriced subscription has ended, I have tried countless times to delete my profile, to see that the instructions to do so are not correct and that it is NOT possible to have my account deleted. Contacted customer service and they admitted the instructions for deleting are wrong that that it is not possible to delete account.

It’s a trap

It’s a trap, it’s the biggest test and conditions scam I’ve ever encountered. You think you have to pay for a month and see how it goes when you go to cancel your subscription, they don’t let you and you have to pay for the full year every month. This is unfair

For a company that was 'cutting edge'…

For a company that was 'cutting edge' in online dating a few decades ago, it has become just another scam operation. I went on it and of course, could not see the pictures of other people, so I had to 'Join'. What a waste. Even though I had specifically said who I'd like to meet, it completely disregarded that information and sent me whomever was in the age bracket I picked. No one was my type and there were very, very few matches. I forgot about it, until yesterday when I received a $104 charge from eharmony. Wow. I had never received an email saying that my membership was going to auto renew. Contacted customer service to cancel and get that $104 back (through email - there are no live agents, probably because they were tired of being yelled at...) and they said that sure, we'll cancel your auto renew and it won't renew again, but you're locked in for this year. I looked deeper and into the account and it said that I was on the hook for 4 more monthly payments of $104 for the 2026 year. Seriously???? I don't want it, I shouldn't have to have it and I shouldn't be charged for it! They scam you into a first year for a small fee, then sideswipe you for hundreds the next year all without telling you it will auto renew! What a sickening company. Limited people to meet, not within the criteria you select and the cost... $400+! I'm going to cancel my credit card so they don't charge me again. Just try to get money from me, lol. Take me to court. I will tell anyone that this company scams people out of their money. If it was a usable service, I might not have a problem with it. It's not, and I do.

AVOID eHarmony

Be very careful when subscribing to this company. They offer you a deal of a monthly subscription first 3 months at half price then reverting to full price. In the ad for this it states" of course you can cancel at any time" . How about full disclosure of of course you will also be required to be obligated to pay for the full 12 months.
I requested that they delete my account and remove my profile, 3 times- as far as I'm aware my profile is still up as they sent a couple of supposed matches, which were outside of my area . They will come back at you with their terms and conditions and yes it is in there but buried amongst all the other legal jargon, which I'm sure they count on people missing it. But surely if we have an obligation to pay for an almost non existent service, when we request that our profile be deleted, they are under a legal obligation to remove it and not display our photo as requesting deletion rescinds permission for them to display our photo???
My recommendation - Do NOT get involved with this company, they do not provide the service they claim to, their customer service is appalling AND they rip you off.

They trap you into spending over $300…

They trap you into spending over $300 in fees but then the app does not provide any matches in your area (Canberra). The customer service do not care about customers and are just about charging money for no service. Avoid them and try many better options
