Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers find the platform to be an excellent learning tool, appreciating the clear explanations of concepts and the challenging questions. They highlight its ease of use, the good range of resources across subjects, and its effectiveness in boosting children's confidence and supporting independent learning. People also find the content to be of high quality, with lessons that are easy to manage and engaging for children. However, some people were dissatisfied with the subscription model and reported issues with customer service, including unaddressed inquiries. There were also concerns regarding the user experience, with some finding the interface confusing, assignments not registering as completed, and the recommended assignment feature not working as advertised. A few other people also felt that some questions were unclear, badly designed, or had incorrect answers marked as wrong, and noted difficulties with the search function and the lack of a dark mode.

Nothing worse than a company that…

Nothing worse than a company that doesn’t respond, terrible customer service.

I had a subscription with Edplace that I recently canceled the day it was due for renewal however the already took the money from my account .

I tried emailing to enquire about a refund and got no response, I then tried phoning which was automated and got nowhere, I tried the website chat app that told me to email also so I left 2 more emails and still was ignored.

Happy to take money but not willing to respond to any emails, I bet if I sent an email saying I was looking to take out a subscription I would get a reply.

Absolutely can’t stand companies like that.

Hi Ryan,
We’re really sorry to hear about your experience, this certainly isn’t the level of service we aim to provide.
We’ve carefully checked our records but haven’t been able to locate any emails from you regarding this issue, which suggests something may have gone wrong in delivery. We completely understand how frustrating that must feel, especially when you’ve made multiple attempts to get in touch.
We’d really like to resolve this for you as quickly as possible. Could you please contact us directly at help@edplace.com with the name and email address linked to your account? This will help us locate your details and review the payment and refund situation right away.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and again, we’re very sorry for the inconvenience caused. We look forward to putting this right for you.
Best regards,

The best for homeschooling your child

The best for homeschooling your child, can't get any wrong and each subjects fully explained with lots of examples and advices. I have been using for 2 years now and even my child went back to day school ( year 9) as we have been living in temporary accommodation due to moving and waiting for permanent address, still using ED place and think can see lot much more educational program than at school ( which is I guess limited probably as per weekly hours and teachers availability), so gives your child opportunity for more knowledge and more practice. My child loves it.

Dear parents please be careful

Dear parents,
I had a very disappointing experience with this company. They took £179.99 as an annual auto-renewal without any prior reminder or notification. As soon as I noticed the charge, I cancelled the subscription the same day.
Trying to contact them by phone is impossible—it’s only an answerphone telling you to use email. I emailed them immediately asking for a refund, but even after 7 days there was no response.
What’s more frustrating is that they replied publicly to my review saying they would refund, but no refund has been processed and no further communication received.
For a service aimed at parents, this lack of transparency, poor communication, and ignoring refund requests is very disappointing. Please be cautious about auto-renewal and payment practices.

Hi Maverick,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. EdPlace is designed primarily as a practice and assessment platform, helping students check their understanding and prepare for tests through targeted questions and instant feedback.

That said, we do appreciate your suggestion about laying out subject knowledge in more detail, and we understand how this could be helpful for some learners. Your comments have been shared with our product team as we continue to review how we can best support different learning needs.

Thank you again for your honest review, we really value it.

Not recommended at all.

Not recommended at all.
I paused my subscription in July and later found that three payments had been taken without any reminder or clear notice that billing would restart. When I contacted support, they said I was responsible and refused to issue any refund.
There was no usage on the account and no warning before the charges were taken. This is poor transparency and very disappointing customer service.
I would not recommend this company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience was disappointing.

We’d like to clarify a few important points for transparency. Pausing a subscription temporarily stops access and billing for a defined period, but it does not cancel the subscription entirely. When a pause ends, billing resumes automatically in line with the subscription terms agreed to at sign-up. This is consistent with how most subscription services operate.

Our records show that the subscription was paused and later resumed, at which point billing restarted as expected. Reminder and billing information is provided within the account and in our terms, and we did not receive a cancellation request before payments resumed. While we understand how easy it is to overlook this, the responsibility to cancel rests with the account holder.

Regarding refunds, we appreciate that there was no usage during that period; however, as outlined in our policy, we’re unable to issue refunds for monthly payments unless there has been an administrative or system error on our side. In this case, we were unable to identify such an error.

We’re sorry to hear that you’ve decided to use an alternative provider, and we regret that we couldn’t resolve this in a way that met your expectations. We take feedback seriously and will continue to look for ways to improve how we communicate around pauses and renewals.

We wish you and your child all the very best with their learning journey.

Best wishes,

Doesn’t work properly.

Paid for the family subscription. It seemed to work for one child but not the other! AI wasn’t assigning work, it kept saying “Something has gone wrong.” on one child's main page. It wouldn’t come up as completed when she had finished assignments, so she was doing it for nothing. The only thing I did like was the rewards system, it encouraged my youngest PDA child to use it. But it’s not an extensive report. If it had of worked for my eldest, my decision to cancel might have been different. From what I’ve gathered from using it is that it’s overpriced for what it is, so cancelled the £25 a month subscription.

Dear Miss Stephens,

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it. What you described isn’t the experience we want any family to have.

The issue you encountered with your eldest child’s account—where assignments wouldn’t load or register as complete—is almost always caused by a browser cache conflict. A quick cache clear or a browser refresh typically resolves it immediately, but we completely understand how frustrating it must have been when things didn’t work as expected in the moment.

We’re very pleased that the rewards system was helpful for your youngest, and we’re sorry that technical difficulties prevented you from fully benefiting from the platform for both children.

We’ve reached out to you directly to offer assistance and ensure you’re able to get the most from your subscription. If there’s anything further we can do to help, please don’t hesitate to reply to our email or contact our support team at help@edplace.com.

Useful but occasional annoying glitches

Based on maths experience.
A valuable resource for learning and practice at all levels compromised by the annoying, OCCASIONAL ambivalence and downright errors (inaccurate 'teacher explanation', wrong or impossible answers).

AI-recommended assignments do not function as promised, resulting in poor value for the subscription price

I am very disappointed with the value of the EdPlace children’s learning platform given the price I paid for the annual subscription. One of the key reasons I subscribed was the promise of AI-assisted assignment recommendations tailored to my children’s abilities. Unfortunately, this functionality has not worked as advertised.

In practice, the recommended assignment feature does not automatically suggest new activities once my children complete their tasks. Most of the time, I have had to manually select and assign activities myself, which defeats the purpose of paying for an AI-supported learning service. The core feature that justified the premium pricing has therefore not delivered the expected benefit.

Given that the automated assignment and personalization capabilities were a major selling point, I feel that the service does not provide value for money. I regret purchasing the annual subscription and am deeply disappointed with the overall experience, as well as the poor user interface design and found very confusing to use.

The app was fine until it started marking things incorrectly…

So when we first started using it for my 7 year olds maths and English it was okay but then things started happening like questions that were answered correct got ticked off as wrong and some of the questions that were asked weren’t very clear on what it wanted answered also I think that when it’s a multiple choice question it should be made known in bigger writing as it was hard to tell if it was due to the writing being in small print under the initial question. I unfortunately had to cancel my subscription to Ed’s Place and the cost seems a little steep for something that doesn’t work properly.

A great all rounder to boost child's confidence in a range of topics. A few niggles comparing to other well known alternatives: when a child answers in a different form e.g missing the hyphen or capital letter, then answer being incorrect. Audio files not being able to be accessed in app; work completed over the last week could be better displayed for reviews. Overall, how much you pay for this, it's amazing and would definitely recommend. Even includes 11+ topics!
