Won't buy from eBags ever again
I recently bought a backpack from eBags. Turns out I do not like the quality of the item and I wish to return it (unused and with the original tags still on the product). However, according to eBags return policy, I need to pay $14.99 to return the item (to cover shipping costs). I only paid $5 for the original shipment, so it's outrageous they're now charging me triple that amount to return it. It is their way of discouraging customers from returning items. So, now I'm stuck with an item I don't like. I refuse to pay that much to return it.

ebags does not allow posting of negative reviews
Ordered a Mother Lode backpack in garnet, but was a purple hue different from the pictures. The materials feel cheap and I would have felt completely ripped off had I bought at the normal 'sale' price, but I still wanted to return it for a different color.
My fault for not checking their exchange and return policy before ordering since every return costs $14.99 and no exchanges are offered.
I felt confident about the purchase given the large number of positive reviews, but my less than 5 star review was rejected on their site which makes me think the reviews are artificially inflated.
But eBags has gone downhill
I've been an eBags customer for a number of years. Always had previous (before COVID) great experiences with them.
But eBags has gone downhill.
* When you place an order, the tracking status on the eBags site will not correspond to the tracking status on UPS
* In fact the tracking number eBags gives isn't even a valid number on the UPS site.
* The tracking status page on eBags dot com says my order will be delivered yesterday. It's not here and UPS doesn't know.
* There's no customer support -- there's no number to call and the chat function on the webpage doesn't work.
I sent an email to eBags -- since that seems to be the only way to talk to them, and all you get is a form letter in reply that says, "our team is experiencing higher than normal volume due to the peak shopping season."
Really? March is peak shopping time?

I’ve had an eBags MotherLode Medium for 13 years whose main zipper started to fail along the bottom. Contacted eBags, provided requested info and pics, and got a new one of same bag. Very impressed and happy!

I ordered a backpack for my new laptop on December 23rd and supposed to be delivered on December 28th.... here it is January 4th and I have yet to receive my item. I emailed customer support and still no response ebags definitely scammed me. They're pure trash on all levels. Now I know why and understand lesson learned. Plus this fake tracking 1Z404F3V0303419842 claims to be shipped and UPS has it still no results.
False advertising on shipping
Ebags used to be a wonderful company, but not anymore. I ordered a product as a holiday gift and felt secure ordering from them as they promised shipping by 12/24 and I was still within the ordering window they had provided.
The product did not arrive with the mail on 12/24, so I checked to see where it was. Still at the warehouse with an updated delivery date of 12/28. Didn't arrive on 12/28, so I checked again. Now the updated arrival date is 1/3.
I contacted customer service, and they informed me of current shipping issues. I understand about current shipping issues. My problem is not with that. My problem is with the fact that you are aware of these issues and STILL PROMISING Christmas delivery when you absolutely know that is not happening!!! That is the frustrating part for me. I ordered something from Chewy during this same busy timeframe and received it EXACTLY when promised. So it is not across the board.
As a consumer, I am so tired of companies treating their customers this way. Convenience has always won out for me, but my patience has worn thin. I'm ready to let my purchasing power do the talking for me. I will not be making any more purchases from ebags, or any other company that treats their customers like trash.

If you are ordering for Christmas, don't count on it! I ordered a bag on 12/14. On 12/19, I realized the UPS tracking label had been created, but no shipping had even begun! This company has minimal customer service hours - only open until 4 pm! I called on 12/20, and no answers, not much concern from the rep. She said the bag was likely stuck in customs in Mexico and no idea when it would ship. On their web site today, 12/20, it says you can order and receive by Christmas. That's not possible! Regardless of how much you spend on expedited shipping, eBags takes 2 days to "process" your order!
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. No option to cancel the order on the website or a means to contact them over the weekend. The email to contact them is a fake, sent one anyway and immediately got a notification that it was undeliverable. Their phone number is listed as 1 (123)-456-7890, obviously a fake.
Honored Warranty
In 2019, I bought a laptop bag from eBags.com, which I have used daily since. After four years, the zipper began to deteriorate. I reached out to eBags to inquire if their limited warranty would cover this issue. To my satisfaction, they promptly honored the warranty and offered a new bag with no extra charge. I am thoroughly impressed with their commitment to customer service and the quality of their products. Their responsiveness and willingness to resolve my issue exemplifies outstanding customer care. I highly recommend eBags for their reliable products and exceptional service.
Website errors, no order confirmation, can't cancel, long processing, unhelpful support
I purchased a travel backpack from ebags several years ago and I have been very happy with it. So when I was looking for a laptop backpack I came back to ebags. The whole experience has been very disappointing!
I spent 45 minutes just trying to get an order to go through the website without it erroring out. Finally it said I had placed the order, but I never got an email confirmation or anything, so far. I had to contact support just to see if the order existed. Oh, and the site wouldn't let me create an account either.
Appr. 20 minutes after placing my order, I was told by support that they couldn't cancel or change my order because of their "fast processing". So I bought another smaller bag that I had missed when I placed the first order. I now have two orders. I asked how long I could expect until I got the bags, and the support merely said the 2-5 days that the shipping quote listed, plus 2 days for "processing" before it was shipped. 2 days for processing, yet their system is so fast that you can't cancel an order 15 minutes after placing? That's a scam. They want to ship the item and make you decide whether you are going to return it. BTW, they don't pay for return shipping either, so that's 14.99 that I have to pay to send the bag back because I can't cancel the order.
Oh, and I've never received a confirmation email yet. No confirmation, but they won't cancel the order. So very disappointed.
I asked for a manager to call me (I never do that) because my experience was so horrible, and the support agent set one up supposedly, but said I could expect to hear from the manager in 1 or 2 days.? Unbelievably bad experience.
No response to warramty claim submitted twice over 4 months
I have a bag that has had 1 zipper break, and 3 cinch straps break off completely. I filled in the required claim form on their website (Contact Us) assuming that their "lifetime warranty" would take care of getting these problems fixed. I waited 2 months after submitting the form. Nothing. No response at all. Not even an acknowledgement. So I resubmitted it. 2 months later (again), still no word from them. I'm going to assume that the online claim form is just a scam, and that they don't actually intend to provide any warranty service of any kind.

I have been having trouble with this company providing me with a purchasing credit through a lifetime warranty with a current online order.
I remember in the beginning when I first received the credit and every time thereafter that I considered buying another bag from them they were always very reassuring about the fact that I could use the credit when I was ready to.
Now, today 6 years after the credit was issued, they are making it very difficult for me to use the credit, and they have not been returning my calls and emails in a timely manner. They claim that my warranty reimbursement is being "reviewed" by management.
As a lifelong business person myself, I know right from the start that is not a sound way to do business .
Stay away from "Ebags" and by all means, state away from their parent company "Samsonite".
The reviews online about these two companies should tell you enough about them........

The worst!!!
This was once a good company that made good products and had decent customer service.
It was the taken over by Samsonite (luggage) who destroyed the product selection and the product quality and the customer service.
I once highly recommended Ebags. Now i advise you to stay away.
I bought my wife new luggage. It broke the first time we used it. I have now made three attempts to get replacement parts. They keep asking for the same info from me that i have given them three times.
Amazing how Samsonite destroyed Ebags.
Customer service is non existent
Customer service is non existent. Emails go unanswered. No phone calls returned. It's an online company that does not help with any issues.
Awful customer service
I ordered a bag with expedited shipping. The bag did not arrive in time. When I informed ebags they suggested I return the bag instead of reimbursing me for shipping. Very poor customer service.
Then they sent me a link to do a survey but would not publish it because of the poor customer service.

If I could give them a zero I would. They told me I couldn’t order from Canada, yet I did last year and it has Canada listed as a drop down option. Completely ridiculous. I even talked to a supervisor that confirmed. Very frustrating. They’re useless
Terrrible return policy
I like the bags. I ordered a new bag and did not get anything close to what I expected, they sent an item different from what I thought I was ordering. They made no aplogies and charged me to return the item. Their return policy is unacceptable.
