I had a very bad experience with easydns.com.

On December 11, 2014, I purchased a premium domain (thepiratebay.to) through them. The domain was successfully registered and fully paid for. There was no misuse, no spam activity, and no legal complaint associated with the domain.

However, shortly after the purchase, EasyDNS suddenly seized the domain and asked me to provide identity verification. I fully cooperated and submitted the required documents. Instead of resolving the issue, they started creating new excuses, saying my address did not perfectly match — despite the fact that I had just legitimately purchased the domain through their system.

If there was any policy concern, they could have simply:

Refunded me, or

Allowed me to transfer the domain to another registrar

But they refused both options. They denied the transfer and effectively kept the domain that I had already paid for.

As a customer, I was not informed of my rights or any clear dispute process at the time. I felt completely powerless, and it seems like my premium domain was simply taken away without fair resolution.

This experience caused financial loss and loss of trust. I would strongly advise others to be cautious, especially when purchasing premium domains through this registrar.

Very disappointing experience.

We are running a website on EasyDNS and have been for about 5 years. The server went down and we don't know why. There is no support until 8:30am and the guys who know how to fix this don't come in until 9am! We are using this for our business and this support is not acceptable. We'll be moving . On the other hand, they never claim to have 24 hour service.

EasyDNS is literally one of the few among (if not) the best you'll find.

They've been around for quite some time, and they've done well. The following is simply an overdue review which I felt compelled to provide due to their great service.

Many years ago, before I even knew what a registrar was, I did an exhaustive search to find a domain name I wanted to purchase. Why exhaustive you ask? Just pick any registrar, there are so many! That was the problem. I refuse to settle for anything. Though I understand no registrar is going to be perfect, I desired (and needed) one that would be truly well balanced. After much more research and cross checking, I decided that EasyDNS was to be my preferred choice.

Most people aren't aware (I wasn't) of what's involved and the inner and outer-workings that take place behind the scenes for these places. Once a domain is purchased, do you know how it's going to be managed AND protected? A domain is your brand, like your classic ride - just as with the valet you hand over your keys to take possession of your car or mechanic at the shop. How do you know they're not going to take it out for a spin and have some fun...or worse? There's too much to tell, however, on their site, they provide a long list of horrors regarding what -can- and DOES happen at some registrars we choose to trust - It's NOT good.

They have an amazing area of their site that goes far beyond ANY normal registrar to expound on their mission here. You can read it yourself..hopefully it get through this review...

Fast forward eight (9) years, and I have no regrets. In my experience, easyDNS has been stellar in handling any issue or concern I've had and they continue to improve upon their services and offerings.

They offer pretty much anything else you'll need for your online business including DNS, Email and Web Hosting, and much more. Their domain registration may be a bit more than the "big guys",
however, the services they provide and care you receive more than make up it. It's that big company capability with the white glove service of a smaller town. You feel like family, which for me, the extra cost is something that is not of major concern for what you actually get - the best balanced registrar. They take care of you.

I can see no reason beyond the foreseeable future as to why I would even need to consider switching to another. My only concern is that they stay around for as long as I do. I don't want to deal with anyone else.

Give them a try, and I'm sure you'll agree...

Canadian registrar, but charges USD. That's not very Canadian is it?

Update: Appreciate the reply but easyDNS's .com cost is USD $19.50 or $27 with domain privacy, which turn out to be around CAD $28 and $39 with today's exchange. I'd love to support Canadian businesses but that's double of what other registrars charge.

Absolutely amazing company. They have great customer service which go out their way to help you (shout to Tim, you're the man!). They have very good pricing and are very honest. I'll recommend easyDNS to everyone I know

I have been with DNS for many years and I am grateful for their capability and service. I am NOT a computer "wizard", in fact, I have been having to learn "computer use" as a Senior. If I ever have any problems, all I do is send a note with my question to the DNS Team, and I am responded to and walked through the process kindly and efficiently. I highly recommend DNS!

Scam company who steals your money and doesnt give you the domain. I create an account, ordered a domain and then deposited my crypto funds for the purchase. I got banned and never received the domain or my crypto refund. They say i was doing phishing and malware when i never even received the domain in the first place. Again, they call me a criminal when i never even received the domain to be able to do anything with it. They banned me and never gave me the domain or the refund. The real criminals are this scam that calls themselves a company.

Best DNS I have used. Great service and solid platform that can do pretty much anything you are likely to need if it involves a DNS, email, or web hosting.

I was helping a friend get a domain. There was obviously a hacker interfering with her ability to pay, in real time. As a consequence she had to use various methods of payment, none of which had ever given her problems in the past. Naturally easyDNS flagged this as a probably criminal transaction, and refused to complete it. So far, so good; I appreciate that easyDNS is strict about preventing criminality.
The sad part is that there is no way to appeal, to explain, to present proof, that we are not criminals. I was guilty without even a chance to prove otherwise. I managed to make contact with Mark directly to explain my story, but I never heard from him again. I like to think that they investigated my claims, but I don't know if that is true or not. What I do know is that there was absolutely nothing criminal about our transaction, there is no appeals process, and there was no way to convince easyDNS of our innocence. As I explained to Mark: "...your staff, a couple weeks ago, treated me as a criminal and closed my account, without even asking for my side of the story." I was not allowed to re-open my account.
I believe that easyDNS is technically excellent, but being treated as a criminal, with no possible recourse, is not my idea of customer-friendly.
In response to Mark's reply, I'm happy to confirm that his (belated) answer was friendly and as helpful as possible at this late juncture.

Been a customer for over a decade. These guys are fantastic. DNS services work flawlessly, pricing is excellent, and the company stands up for internet independence without interference, as well as stands firmly against illegal activity and scammers.

Can't say enough good things about these guys.

I am using the free account so that I can access my home network using openVPN. I renew the free dns address once a month and it has worked flawlessly for over a year. Thank you easyDNS.

We've been with easyDNS for 12+years for our business domains, email and website and have NEVER had a problem, which is unheard of in today's world. Their LIVE support team is uber helpful and top notch! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND their services. Mark Jeftovic's weekly newsletter is highly informative and provides a heads-up on potential problems.

I've used their service for years (domain and email hosting) without any issues. Always up and easy to use UI.

I have been with EasyDNS since first acquiring my domain in 2000, and I have never had any problems with the service. Whenever I had questions, I received a reply within 24 hours. They have always been forthcoming and transparent about changes to the service, service outages (which I never experienced), etc.

Our Australian based business has used easyDNS for over 20 years and have found their services to be perfect. They are trustworthy, reliable and provide great support. Their regular newsletter is informative and interesting. I have no hesitation in providing 5/5 stars for easyDNS.

I have been an easyDNS customer for decades. Always great service. They actually have people who answer the phones and help you in real time. I routinely recommend the company to all my friends and colleagues. Wish more companies tried a little more to emulate easyDNS's example.

I started using easyDNS fifteen or twenty years ago. They have excellent service and extremely high availability. I cant remember them ever being down. When the make mistakes they are open about it and explain what happend, why it happend and what they have done about it. They try to keep one step ahead of the bad-guys and refine their services accordingly. Communications about changes to their services is excellent, just enough information just in time and no more. Keep up the good work!

Just peruse the easyDNS website and you'll realize they are an honorable and competent company with principles. I've been doing business with them for over 10 years with nary a problem.
