Today I saw self-service checkouts and thought, finally, Dunnes has decided to do this. But no, self-service checkouts are only for those with baskets, not trolleys. And then, I checked the cost of th... See more

Left high and dry, atrocious service.
Atrocious service, they just cancelled my delivery by email in the timeframe it was supposed to be delivered.
Left me high and dry with no delivery for another week, they didn't try to reschedule or anything just cancelled, no explanation, customer service don't care. They're just a shower of muck savages, with no contingency plan and will leave you screwed, a disgrace to Ireland.
Rotten
This was my first grocery shop at Dunnes and it will be my last.
If I could give zero stars I would.
The delivery did not arrive in the time slot that I had booked.
They had loaded heavy items on top of salad and soft stuff like a fresh pizza, so it was squashed
The fridge items were not chilled they felt warm – I’ll come to this later with the milk.
I’d order frozen food and the delivery driver brought in someone else’s frozen shopping, but didn’t have mine onboard. I then had to email Dunnes customer service to let them know. I got a call from a lady in the Clonmel store who said they would arrange for the missed items to be delivered that day- which was good customer service. I then had an another call from their central customer service, the person who called was rude and questioned whether I had kept the shopping that was not mine, they obviously didn’t believe me because he said by the way this call is being recorded – hold on you are at fault for not delivering what I have paid for. Communications is obviously a problem at Dunnes, he had no clue that the clonmel stored had already sorted the issue out.
The next day I opened a bagged salad, the smell was horrendous and you could see it had started to rot. I emailed customer service with photos and asked for a refund. The response I got back was can you send photos. So another email to point out I had already sent photos. They emailed saying they would have to contact the Clonmel store. They did eventually refund.
So three emails so far to Dunnes and two phone calls to sort out their issues, which is quite a bit of time.
I then went to take a pack of tomatoes out of the fridge, half were so rotten that they had leaked through the pack into the fridge. I also had a rotten pink lady apple in the pack, and when I opened one of the 3l milks despite it being in date it was off, it smelt and tasted sour so I had to throw it.
The idea of an online shop is that it saves you time. I work and I don’t have time to email Dunnes and take photos of the rotten items. I had already had 3 emails and two phone calls with Dunnes and didn’t fancy the 3 more email exchanges and all the palava Dunnes make you go through.
Sometimes things go wrong, but to have so much rotten stuff Dunnes need to investigate why.
The grocery shop at Dunnes has wasted my time and it has cost me money as I have had to throw the rotten stuff away and buy more.
To top it all Dunnes sent me an email with a customer satisfaction survey and the link to the survey doesn’t work – that’s handy Dunnes, do you every wonder why you have a low response rate.
I’m going to take my hard earned cash and shop for groceries online elsewhere – Hello Tescos!
Dunnes have a great delivery service…
Dunnes have a great delivery service but omg the New
( and improved) app is shocking.. they really need to sort out there graphics/web design people.. because whoever is responsible for that new app should be fired..
Dedicated till for elderly and pregnant ladies
Hi Dunnes Stores, my family and I love your stores but seriously in 2024 is it normal not to have a dedicated till for elderly, disable and pregnant ladies? You offer family and disable parking but that is it.
I think you are very behind compared to most European countries.
I have seen elderly people struggling in the queues today. I was myself struggling with my toddler being 30 weeks pregnant.
I think it is still for you to change things for the best.
Dunnes are hiking their prices …
Dunnes are hiking their prices continuously, for no other reason than profits and robbing their customers of their hard earned money.
Pretending to give a 10€ off 50€ when actually they have increased product prices far beyond the worth of the voucher.
Very rude till staff
First of all, I love the selection in this shop (Cornelscourt). I usually get get everything I need in one shop, and it is very well-stocked. The only reason I give it 1 star is because of the till staff. Tonight I was "served" by Holly who seemed to have nothing but disdain for the customer and would be clearly better off in a non-customer service role. Even though I have shopped here for decades, this staff member has made me seriously think about taking my custom elsewhere. There was a time when Dunnes Stores staff were exemplerary.
Appalling
I was in Dunnes Stores in Rathmines on Saturday 9/11/2024 in the Drapery Department and A Manager literally berated a Young Girl for being late. This happened at the checkout so the place was very busy. She made a show of the Girl. That “Manager” didn’t know what that girl had gone through that morning so She had NO business to speak down to Her like that. But I would not expect anything less from Dunnes Stores. She ought to be ashamed of Herself. Disgusting behaviour.
Dunnes is my favourite shop
Dunnes is my favourite shop. Love the clothes and the food
Cornellscourt - Parking Nightmare!
Cornellscourt - Parking Nightmare! Two, parking attendants standing chatting at the main entrance. Took me 20 minutes to get a space. This is the worst shopping centre in Ireland for parking.
Weight/size discrimination
I am a very thin female, 30 hip at fullest part, 30 shoulder, 21 inch waist and weigh 36.5 kilos. My bones fused early im childhood and I am 5 foot 1 inches tall. I am very thin with almost no body fat. In the first shop I was told not try on children's clothes when I knew the adults would be 4 inches too big for my waist and expose too much and I'd children's pants from dunnes in 8 years that were fine. I hoped thing would improve they did not and staff removed the clothes I was trying on so that I could not try them on. They wouldn't give me a solid reason for doing so. The kids skirts fit while the skirt in the xs fell off. I thought denim might save it but no. I'm done being humiliated being made feel 2 feet tall for being slender was unfair and for that reason they will never have my custom again. I think they could have assumed the skirt wouldn't fit went past the floor. Maybe the clerk as I was wearing a line i was too big for the size I picked up that is my choice to make ( the skirt fit perfectl).and I always bring a tape measure. If someone is on the curvier side my concern is they'd say sorry you can't try the item on. My very small measurements are confirmed by tailors and I myself have dressmaking experience. I also have a reduced quality of life due to my extremely small bone structure and was extremely upset after the 3 visits
I will buy nothing from Dunnes or wear anything ever again.
Should be ashamed of themselves.
WENT INTO DAY TO LOOK AT A BIN
WENT INTO DAY TO LOOK AT A BIN
ASKED A LADY ABOUT IT SHE WAS NOT AT ALL HELPFULL
IN FACT RUDE
SO WE ARE GOING ELSEWHERE AND NOT GOING IN AGAIN
Dunnes at its worst in years
Parking bad at weekends. Too crowded. Waited a half an hour to check out messages on my last shop Thursday. Not enough checkouts open. I am shopping in Dunnes 40 years but am definitely changing to another less packed supermarket. Their fruit and vegetables are sub standard and their meat is not as it used to be quality wise. The tokens don't draw me anymore as you pay dearer for your groceries here too.
Poor customer service
This is a lovely well laid out store
This is a lovely well laid out store. I have given one star because of the staff member that served me. She was chewing gum and treated me like I was a nuisance, not a customer that is paying her wages.
Struggling with online order …
Really struggling today with receiving my shopping. Every item was tagged automatically with alternative choice. Bad mistake. IMO Dunnes use this to shift stock that's not moving. Not being diligent in my order I got more than 10 items that by choice I would not have purchased. I was missing 9 items in total that perhaps were not available. I lost out on a €10 savings voucher. It was just a disaster. Now I have to call in tomorrow which makes delivery pointless. I'm honesty drained by the experience and quality of fresh food is end of shelf life. Not what I would have chosen. It's disappointing. Was also charged for items i didnt recieve. Think I need to try Tesco for piece of mind. My loyalty to Dunnes could be a fault on my behalf. Very disappointed.
Food for thought
Love this place, although the grocery department may be a little expensive sometimes, the quality of the food is so good. I love the clothes department because there is so much to choose from and you can always mix and match the items. If you're going out for that special evening , then dunnes stores won't fail and the prices are very reasonable. I'd love to work here
Excellent online experience.
I found the website so easy to navigate. Placed my order on Sunday of a Bank Holiday weekend and my order was delivered Tuesday morning.
It was just the best. Excellent service. Thank you.
I am back on again tonight ordering,,,,,happy days.
Faulty items can only be returned to Dunnes stores you bought them in !!!!!!!
Very disappointed with service I received today in Dunnes in Tralee NCR or should I say lack of service.I purchased a jumper for my son and when he walked past me wearing jumper I seen it had a hole .I told him take it off and I wud return.Because I purchased a Dunnes brand jumper in the Killarney store i was told by the girl at the till who had conversed with the manager Fidelma that I had to return to Killarney store so be warned if you buy in a Dublin store while on hols if it has a problem you have to return to that store ……jumper was purchased on the 27th of Oct today is the 29th 2 days old ….
Extremely inconsiderate and rude staff
Dunnes staff are the most inconsiderate of any of the big shops in Ireland. Upon self checkout, an item was incorrectly scanning at full price. When I requested help, the person running the self checkout line (a guy in his 40s) became combative. He swore he was aware of the prices and that the item I was buying was part of a meal deal. He was incredibly dismissive even after I had told him I was 100% the item was on sale. Simply put, he made me feel like a fool. He didn’t even bother to check if I was correct, cancelled the item and walked away in a fuss. I went ahead and took a photo of the barcode for him and I was shocked when he basically ignored me and told to leave the store. I’ve never, ever been treated like this in any shop ever. I wasn’t dismissive etc. I clearly told him I was sure I saw the correct price and that I’d still like to buy the item. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Rude staff experience after rude staff experience. This isn’t limited to just one store either. After 15 years of putting up with staff, whom all seem to have an attitude, I won’t be shopping in Dunnes again. Aldi or Lidl is half the price and their staff are actually useful. Even Tesco makes Dunnes look like a joke. At the end of the day, it’s all about attitude. When staff are wrong, own up to the mistake. Big thumbs down.
Terrible customer service regarding…
Terrible customer service regarding online groceries . New policy is fresh items only need to be in date by three days , why bother with a weekly shop then… email sent on a Monday , it’s Thursday evening now and the issue is not rectified . I think they may have outsourced customer service abroad.. it’s woeful. Used to be excellent.
