This relates to dreamstudio at stability ai, but the indicated link redirects to them so I believe I am reviewing the right company.
I would have given their old platform, which charged me about 5 credits for 4 images, five stars. The images were of good quality and, at about 1.25 credits per image, I could afford the platform's habit (shared with other AI art platforms, this is not unique) of returning some images not related to the prompt.
However, during the past few days, I suddenly found myself burning through my remaining credits. I created two images a moment ago, and found my account shorter by 16 credits. Their site does mention a price increase, and also a transition to a subscription-only model. I do not use subscription models, i.e. paying for something whether I use it or not so I will need to find somebody else and I will no longer recommend them.
Update Feb. 2 2026
I have not purchased more credits nor do I plan to do so, but I have burned through even more credits for which I am being charged even though the platform does not follow my instructions. I asked for an image of a pile of dollar bills in front of a mountain of snow (to reflect heating costs in Northeast PA) and it generated hundred dollar bills. In another case, it put the currency on the snow even though I said the snow was to be in the background. I view this as defective work and there is no way to get a refund of the credits. In contrast, another AI platform (free) now gets it right, usually on ONE try, and often exceeds my expectations.
All my saved images are gone. 860 credits in the account, and POOF, all my work has been deleted for some reason by Dream Studio. I say "some reason" because my support ticket has been sitting for two days "Being Processed." Do your own search. This is not uncommon.
