Terrible bullying company they are taking my home because I could not pay there rates when the power crisis due to Russias Putin started. They want £65000 for 12 months electricity what cost £15000 before the crisis .This is on top of money they received from the government 6 months at £3700 pounds per month. It was a local shop serving local community.

Shameful behaviour / Vulgar Language

Drax / Hirwaun Power Ltd (Hirwaun Plant). Aberdare South Wales.CF44 9UP.

Shameful behaviour, and vulgar language used against a member of the public whilst going about their lawful behaviour on the public highway.
This public order offence was perpetrated mainly by the Health & Safety manager, Colin Buckley who doesn't like to wear H&S PPE as required by law & good working practice.

The number of times they used highly offensive language contrary to public order laws.(Criminal act) was incredible.

This needs to be investigated by the HSE.

I have now raised this issue with the authorities. Simon; the site manager is equally legally negligent, & culpritable.

Shame on you and your organisation - green energy scandal

Drax is the UK’s largest single source of carbon emissions. It generates electricity by burning millions of tonnes of wood from mature forests worldwide, including irreplaceable primary forests. This practice affects the forests’ ability to store carbon and harms the habitats of many endangered species. Burning these trees releases high levels of lung-damaging particulates. Additionally, Drax’s wood pellet production facilities in the USA often exceed legal limits for toxic volatile organic compounds, leading recently to $5.7 million settlements for air quality violations in Mississippi and Louisiana.
Drax’s emissions are considered “emission-free” because international carbon accounting attributes the emissions to the country where the trees are felled, not where they are burned. As a result, Drax receives substantial public subsidies (£617 million in 2022) from UK taxpayers for producing so-called “renewable” energy, while generating significant profits (£728 million in 2023) for its shareholders. In 2027 the UK will end subsidies for burning unabated biomass to generate electricity, and so Drax is looking to secure a new long-term subsidy for its wood-burning operation. Currently experts estimate this will cost UK tax payers £1.7 billion per year over the next 25 years by adding BECCS (Bioenergy with Carbon Capture & Storage) - a new technology that scientists warn is unproven and yet to be demonstrated as feasible at the scale proposed by Drax.

Rip off energy supplier

Avoid Drax energy at A L L costs. After a tenant left and suppliers were swapped they took an inordinate time to acknowledge this and change over the Billing resulting in an exorbitant daily standing charge.they failed to
Change the nighttime economy meter by their own admission . Despite realising it was their time-wasting that resulted in this and apologies for the oversight which ran up a huge bill they didn’t not make any amends to Come To an agreement. Take forever to reply to
Emails and couldn’t get an human in the phone to raise this. Shanee the Customer Care Executive in particular gets a special mention for not resolving as well as the ‘credit Management team’ who didn’t help. Avoid and tell all you know this company is a disgrace.

COMPANY DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR

Same experience as previous reviewers have reported. Ofgem needs to step in and take a look at the illegal practice of "deemed standing charges" which this company practices.
Took over a commercial premises in May 2022, energy supplier was Haven Power, was unable to contact this company to set up a contract. Building needed a lot of renovations, but due to other committments we were unable to start any work, so were not using any electricity.
On June 20th 2023 a letter was sent from a debt collection company called ACS The letter stated that ACS was acting for Drax Energy Solutions Limited – this was the very first time that I had heard of this company, and the letter from ACS went on to say that Drax were the utility supplier for our commercial premises (they had taken over Haven Power - thanks for letting me know!!!!!!)
This letter from ACS threatened to take action to disconnect the electric supply to prevent unauthorised consumption. As previously stated none of the utilities were being used as the premises were still empty and no renovation work had started.
It was only when I contacted ACS that I was informed that Drax Energy Solutions had taken over Havenpower. On 30th July 2023, I was sent an email from the contact team at Drax, attached to the email were 14 invoices dated from 20th June 2022 – 31st July 2023. Previous to this I had not received any correspondence from this company.

These invoices were for STANDING CHARGES amounting to £1,638.61 NOT for any electricity consumed, but standing charges.

I immediately raised a complaint with this Drax Solutions, I feel that it was very devious how this company had incurred these charges. I was not aware that Havenpower had been taken over by Drax Solutions, despite trying to trace the company to give the meter reading. I honestly thought the electric had been disconnected because up to this point we had not received any correspondence or any communication from Drax, until the letter arrived from ACS.
I have raised a case with the Energy Ombudsman and have also contacted Jonathan Brearley - Chief Executive Officer - Ofgem, I have not even received any reply from from his office. Meanwhile I am having Drax and this debt collection company chasing me for what is now £3268.27 standing charges, because Drax and this ACS has not put the account on hold whilst an investigation has been going through with the Energy Ombudsman since October 2023.
I intend to contact the BBC consumer programme to discuss the issues of extortionate standing charges that this company is inflicting on its customers. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF USING THIS ENERGY PROVIDER AS YOUR SUPPLIER - A WORD OF WARNING THINK TWICE!!!!!!!

Rip Off Merchants

We purchased a commercial property in August and expected to receive some correspondence from whomever the previous energy suppliers were - a 'Dear Occupier' letter to the site address for example. After receiving nothing, we made our own attempts to find out, to no avail.

4 months later, we receive an email from Drax with 3 invoices on exorbitant rates with standing charges of £31 per day. The whole time, the site has been vacant with mains power turned off and Drax are trying to charge us nearly £5,000 per month for energy we have never used!! The company are sharks trying to rip off small businesses - and they seem to be getting away with it. Customer service has been terrible, failing to listen to the problem and offering no solutions. Needless to say, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

terrible company

terrible company, I have a storage unit that has an electric meter. I never use the electric at all. My standard charge was just £20 a month. I have noticed my bills have gone up month by month £42. £59. £89, £134. The last time I was at my business storage was over a year ago. Today, I spoke to their customer service who explained that the standard charge had gone up slightly. I have been charged £59 (not slightly) and the rest was for the electric that I was using. It must be the ghost using the electric, I certainly have not used it. They claim that have taken a meter reading and I have used the electric. Very annoying to get hold of these people on the phone takes hours then the phone disconnects after about 30 minutes, you try again disconnects after 30 minutes same again. I was promised a confirmation email as a record of my complaint, have not received. Very annoying firm to deal with. I would give them a zero rating but 1 star is the least you can give ;((

Worste customer service I have ever…

Worste customer service I have ever received from a company. Awful communication. Purposefully elongated my time on an energy contract so they could charge me upqwards if £750 per month. Over 600 pounds of which is a standing charge. Almost impossible to communicate with unless they claim you owe them money.

Avoid at all costs
The sooner they go out of business the better.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service

Moved into a commercial premises that didn’t have a meter installed, landlord contacted Drax on my behalf to organise the supply back in September.

Still no supply, countless emails and phone calls.

I’ve now taken them to small claims court and initially they contacted me to talk about installing a meter but then said because I’d gone down the legal route I could only communicate with their solicitor, and guess what next to no communication from them, still no meter install date.

I’ve now started sending daily emails chasing meter install, all these emails I’m keeping for my day in court!

Waste of space company!
