The worst experience I have ever had with any company.
Doorstead managed to combine incompetence, indifference, and a complete lack of accountability into what should have been a straightforward property management relationship.
Over the course of my experience, they consistently failed to protect my interests as the property owner, ignored documented evidence when tenant-caused damage occurred, and repeatedly shifted costs back onto me. Even when presented with vendor reports, photographs, and prior history, they seemed far more interested in closing tickets than investigating facts.
Communication was slow, inconsistent, and often contradictory. Different representatives provided different explanations for the same issue, forcing me to spend countless hours chasing answers that should have been readily available from a professional property management company.
The final straw came during the transition of management. A tenant made a partial rent payment through Doorstead, I was told one thing, then another, and ultimately learned the payment had been refunded directly to the tenant without my knowledge or consent. Rather than proactively communicating what happened, I had to repeatedly follow up to uncover the truth.
Every issue seemed to follow the same pattern: delays, confusion, excuses, and costs borne by the owner.
I hired Doorstead to make property ownership easier. Instead, they created more work, more stress, and more expense than if I had managed the property myself.
I cannot recommend Doorstead under any circumstances. My experience was that they consistently failed to act in the best interests of the property owner, and I would strongly caution anyone considering their services to look elsewhere.

They tried to add a thousand dollars to rent after signing a lease and then when asked for a refund on the deposit since they decided to illegally change the lease terms, they said I have to provide the receipts and prove I've made one. What an insane scam. Do not use this company under any circumstance.

I had a great experience renting through Doorstead over the past year. From start to finish, their team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. Anytime I had a question or needed assistance, they handled it quickly and efficiently, which made the entire process stress-free.
It’s clear they care about their tenants and take pride in providing excellent service. I always felt supported and appreciated how smoothly everything was managed throughout my lease. Worst company ever. Please don't believe them. They purposefully put the lower amount on the rental property and insist you to file with them (With$35 for each applicant). Once you have paid the amount then they say that they are sorry for the typo and the price of rental property has increased by 44%.

They always answer my email requests very fast, and have been great at getting issues resolved quickly. They are always a pleasure to work with. A rep even stayed back at their end of their shift to ensure the vendor for me was on site, and I was taken care of.

- problems with doors not locked and not double checking. We had 2 instances of finding the door wide open when we got there!

This company is a scam. They made me sign an agreement and didn't provide the service as promised. I terminated the contract and they wanted to charge me for the photos that I never received.

The concept sounds great, but that’s it.
The customer service agents are totally pathetic, especially Jennica.
Their contract is beyond and they had no one to present. I was better off doing it myself.

they are absolutely horrible impossible to get set up with them so I canceled it and now they are spamming me by phone and email as if I was already a customer after they confirmed the cancellation. Their own employees don't know their own policies from the start which is why I canceled.
I would advise everyone not to deal with this company at all. They so unprofessional they had a listing on Zillow in Richmond, California off Marina South Road I requested a tour for this last Saturday. I like the place so much I submitted an application on Monday. They told me I would have a response from them within 24 to 48 hours, to let me know if I am approved or denied 48 hours pass. I never received a message so I reached out to them asked what was the outcome? They told me the owner decided to go with the first applicant something told me that they was lying maybe because of all the bad reviews I read on them before I even applied so I have my daughter. Use her account and reach out to them on Zillow to ask if the place was still available and sure enough they told her yes still available and would you like to set up a tour? I was so disgusted that I had been lied to so I reached out to them and told them they were so unprofessional and I felt like they were discriminating against me. Never heard anything else so for the people who’s thinking about dealing with this company do yourself a favor and don’t there’s something ain’t right about them.
This is a scam, avoid and hire a local realtor if you need assistance with leasing your rentals. No communication, no working manned phone, no replies and they tried to scam after i was notified 2 tenants were located with a bait and switch to a management contract submitted, then when I pointed after I contracted for tenant placement only, There were no longer tenants, unless I reduced the rent and this is after I started the approval process. I'm reporting them to the Florida DBPR. They refused to communicate and I lost 3 months rent while this process unfolded.
We found a beautiful house for rent via Doorstead. After numerous attempts to schedule a tour, I have given up.
