They kept me hanging on and then couldn't even provide what I needed...
Worst refund service ever
Such complicated to return products. They normally deduct 20% of the order value or minimum 150 DKK for you to return and on top, they require you to pay postal. I luckily talked them out of the return fee... It's been more than a month since I returned the products, and the money is still not on my account. Two weeks ago, I called them to ask for a status, and they informed me that I actively had to let them know which account to transfer the money to (not informed in any communication). Funny how they seem not to be able to just return the money to the credit card that I paid with in the first place, when all other webshops can do this. I wonder if they even comply with the law. Nevertheless, it's been two weeks since I sent them my account information and still no money.

very bad service ... i ordered an item from them and never received for 15 days and when i called them they said that i need to wait for another 21 days. when i ask for a refund they said it might take another 21 days to get mu money back. will never go with it again!!!

Poor service
I ordered an add on product and it said it will be delivered within 3 business days but I wait almost a weeks ago and now still waiting. I call them everyday for parcel tracking they said will get back to me after checking but they never reply me, such a poor service .
They did well - no complaints
I ordered £250 worth of stainless steel (A4) nuts, bolts, studding and a few drill bits. They all came the next day. Threaded rods could have been packaged more securely as they had come out of the packaging. Had a query about the pitch of the M10 studding. RS took 6 days to reply. They seem pretty good to me and I will use them again.
Very fast, very reliable
Nice to see RS now deal with individuals, in the past they were focused on servicing businesses.
They have a truly vast range of products. In recent years, Maplin (RIP) had started selling some subpar components so you had to be careful at the cheap end. Fortunately, RS do not appear to have followed them here.
I've only ordered a few odd things from them recently like capacitors and four core cable. I was pondering a trip to a nearby trade counter but I knew their fast delivery would both beat me to it and be a more efficient use of my time.

I ordered a small quantity of 680uF 25V capacitors, which had to be sourced from overseas.
The company took months to notify me of their arrival at their warehouse, which puzzled me as I'd paid for courier delivery.
I rang their customer service line and gave them very clear simple instructions as to delivery to my home address - as I'd be home during business hours. (drop off)
Their delivery company (Couriers First) didn't bother trying and left their unattended slips in my letterbox, this happened on two occasions.
Frustrated, I rang their customer service line asking about my goods and to my surprise THEY SOLD MY PARTS TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER!!!
I asked for immediate refund as I couldn't deal with these people again.
Very unprofessional and i don't recommend to anyone.

Worst experience, I ordered a product from their website and it said it will be delivered within 3 business days. 5 days later I call them up and ask about my order and they tell me it's out of stock actually and it won't be delivered until a month later. No email, nothing to inform me about this...I had to call them up to find out.

Ordered two A27 12v batteries for garage door remotes at 19.00 hrs Wednesday and they have been delivered at 10.00 hrs Thursday.
The price was slightly more than some eBay companies but for this level of service I am more than happy.
Cannot fault
As a non-account holder DIY'er, ordered a single item (PIR motion sensor) late afternoon, before the 8.30pm cut off for next day delivery. Delivery included in price. Item in stock, tracked delivery (quickly helped by online chat), arrived mid pm following day. Cannot fault.
Still not getting it right (customer for over 20 years)
We have used RS for over 20 years but we haven't used them for a while - we got fed up with several aspects of the company's service. Today I placed an order and was pleased to find that the actual ordering worked well and I was able to place it as a guest without all the trouble of creating an account and yet another password. So far so good. Then it all went pear-shaped. I got an email confirming the order but no invoice and no way to request one so far as I could see. Our rules here are that invoices must be filed the same day orders are placed so we keep on top of cash flow. So I clicked on the only available link to my order, hoping to get my invoice there. Still no invoice and what is worse is that the linked page states "No orders matched your search criteria". So I am left with no invoice and, so far as their website is concerned, no order. I hope the stuff does arrive tomorrow otherwise I will be even unhappier than I am at the moment. Come on RS, this is very basic online commerce stuff and you are a big company - the small guys get it right, why can't you?
