Frustrating experience

I had MOT repairs carried out on my van and the mechanical work itself appears to have been completed, as the vehicle passed its MOT.

Unfortunately, the administration side of the experience was very frustrating. I left after paying without an invoice and was told one would be posted. After waiting a couple of weeks I had still not received it and had to chase several times by email and phone.

When I eventually received the invoice, it contained a brief list of jobs and a total amount but not the itemised breakdown of parts and labour costs that I had been expecting. I later requested clarification about some of the work carried out and was sent a copy of a job sheet, but this appeared incomplete and did not fully answer my questions.

The situation became unnecessarily tense when I tried to obtain the paperwork. Had the invoice been provided promptly and with a clear breakdown from the outset, the whole experience would have been much smoother.

Based on my experience, I would recommend obtaining detailed written estimates and confirming exactly what documentation you will receive before collecting your vehicle.

Crucial information on the work is missing. I am trying to sell my van but don't yet have a complete invoice to show buyers. I have had to pause the sale until I have documentation that confirms that safety-critical repairs were actually carried out.

Still no accurate invoice as of 11th June, a month after collecting my van.

Please review your own quotes, emails and my written requests regarding the tyres, as the information provided remains inconsistent and has left me trying to establish exactly what work was carried out.

Repeated requests for clarification have not been answered through email, yet some explanations have instead appeared in responses to reviews. This has only added to the confusion.

As I am still unable to obtain clear documentation of the work undertaken, I am now seeking independent advice on how best to resolve the matter.
