Not honest at all

Not honest at all , if you have an issue the only way to contact is email
No phone number
They hold my deposit for over 6 weeks then they said they can’t return my deposit because I picked up the car without letting them know 🤔
Imagine they sent me to pickup a car and I have to tell them ( hey I picked up the car)

Rented a truck

Rented a truck. All went well. But found additional charges on my credit card on the next statement. When I called to find out I was informed I had to speak to the manager. He never called back..... months went by. I finally got ahold of him 4 months later. Says it was for damages. No proof. Or repair bill. Called their head office run in circles. When some one read the file to me the damages had moved. I'm now 7 months in still haven't been able to get past the front lines. DO NOT RENT HERE

Bad service and sales men are not…

Bad service and sales men are not honest with customers and so rude. No help over the phone with customer service when face any problem they put you on hold until working hours ending.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Gave me a car with such dirty windows that I couldn't see out of. Rude staff. Very bad experience. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Car was looking good from outside only

Car was looking good from outside. Shining and everything. But the interior wasn't that clean, looks bad in covid time where everything should be cleaned. One tire was flabby and NO SNOW BRUSH, IN QUEBEC, IN WINTER !!! Come on !!!

I rented from discount for the first…

I rented from discount for the first time, usually I deal with enterprise. Discount car condition was really really bad. I rented it in winter, it was snowing and wipers were not wiping the windshield wipers were too old. No windshield fluid, car did not have gas tank cover. Tires grip was worn out. Cruise control and such safety features were not working. Complaint on website they told they will reach out to me for follow up and it has been more than 10 days of my complaint but no body came back lol.... no wonder why it is called discount (discount in car condition)

Took the booking, then told us they are not open.

About to go and get the hire car, for a 5day hire. Was told they are open and they took the booking.
"Good Morning Declan,
We have received a reservation for today.
Unfortunately, this location is closed Saturday December 12th and Sunday the 13th. We will not be able to assist you with your reservation request until Monday.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Great customer service...1st time car renter

Great customer service. Friendly and helpful. I will definitely rent from them again. I'm not very good with technology they were very patient and helpful both in Quesnel and Richmond drop off. Thank you Discount for a wonderful first experience renting a car. Ilona

Pay extra to receive horrible customer service!

The Oakville location charged me an extra $75 for a protection I signed on the contract. But I never received or read the contract myself! They took my signature and signed me up for extra charges without telling me so. If you want extra and unnecessary charges paired with horrible customer service, this is the place to go.

POOR

Rented a car online and got a confirmation. Arrived at the Calgary location a few minutes before four and the branch was closed. Went back home and modified the reservation. Received another confirmation. The next day got a call from the location saying that there were no cars and that my reservation was "open", meaning that they would have to call me to confirm there is a car available. I may be naive, but when I get a confirmation, I have to assume that there will be a car ready for pick-up. When asked about the early close, he said that the employee also worked at another location and had to leave early to get there. He then said I could get a car at Enterprise and finally after asking him three times, he looked up the phone number. NEVER AGAIN.

Won’t Rent Here Again

A terrible company to deal with. Booked a truck at their south end Barrie location online and received my email confirmation. Then someone calls half an hour later saying they have no vehicles that day and their booking site is “glitchy” but their other Barrie location does have a vehicle and my reservation has been forwarded. The next the 2nd location calls and says they mixed up the dates and they have no vehicles either. One of the most unprofessional companies I’ve dealt with lately. Would never rent from them again.

They don’t believe in reservations

I rented a cargo van for three days to move from London to Toronto. When I went to pick up the vehicle later than the pickup time they said I didn’t show and gave it away. They did not try and call or anything. They said to go to a different store and they had a van there. When we arrived they also didn’t have one. Do NOT rely on them for reserving a vehicle. Especially if you are moving!

Horrible service

Horrible service. I reserved a car for 4 people 1 week before my trip. I was called the day before and told that it was cancelled because they had no cars available. I told them I had a confirmation number and everything and they said they couldn't do anything and their confirmation emails really aren't confirmation emails (???) they are just reference numbers, even though the email clearly states "CONFIRMATION". Anyways, I had already bought tickets for a show the next day and couldn't go and was only told they would call me if they found a car. Never received a call back.

Tried to rent a pickup truck but the…

Tried to rent a pickup truck but the manager at the Cambridge location is inflexible. I think his name was Mark. Although my insurance company approved it, And was paying for it, he insisted I must rent a similar vehicle. I took my business to Enterprise and they gladly assisted. Discount has hired people like Mark, who could care less wether you gave them business or not. I remember letting him know I rented in the past and had good service. Then when I told him I would take my business elsewhere, his response is “that’s fine”. Discount is not the company it use to be. I will never use them again and have advised my insurance company of their horrible service. My default car rental company is now Enterprise.

they have one way rentals adverised on their website with rates and all the details so counting on that I did my plans accordingly,then I called one week before to reserve they said they don't have this service anymore but they still didn't remove it from the website..

I reserved a full size car online but…

I reserved a full size car online but none was available when picking up at the location. Manager told me that there are only 4 full sized vehicle available to be rented in entire Canada .They rented me an SUV which was a plus. The manager ( here in Edmonton 114 avenue and 170th street location) , was already going through to the vehicle for walk through for some damages , if there’s some before driving it.I noticed that the vehicle is very dirty outside.I asked the manager “ why the vehicle is very dirty?” He said, “oh, it was just returned this morning .Those are just bugs “.Hello, you supposed to clean and wash the vehicle before customer drives it , right? Not only outside, but the interior of the vehicle has finger prints all over .The worsed part of it was the front passenger seat has like white gross dirty stuff! He said, oh, we have to use some kind a machine to clean it up which they don’t have it. I ask him for garbage bags to cover it so my daughter will not be seating directly into it..With Covid 19 going on or without, rental cars has to be cleaned before customer/s drives it , right?
NOT RENTING VEHICLES HERE AGAIN!!!

They cancelled the day before

I booked a car in Calgary and they call me the day before to tell me they cancel the reservation because there is no car for me. How professional is that ? You can make sure I won't book with them anymore.

I rented the 7 seater car from discount…

I rented the 7 seater car from discount and windshield is heated by small rock by front car even there is very small mark but they are asking me to change the whole windshield glass but same I showned to Mr. Lube and they are saying it requires 55CAD charges but discount charge me 500 CAD. Even support team is very Argonant.
Dont go for discount.
