I prebooked a taxi to take my husband & me to Manchester Airport at 02:30 for our holiday. The lady on the phone took the booking, gave me the price and explained the process to follow for our return journey 2 weeks later. The day before our flight I received a text message confirming the booking. But then the following day we are sat at home with cases packed, coats on and no taxi. I rang the office for over 15 mins it kept saying 1 was caller 1 and next in the queue. Still no answer, eventually I gave up and rang ABBA taxis, who sent a taxi straightaway and it was with us with 4 mins. This also cost £10 less than I had been quoted by Direct. I have rang direct to complain and the gentleman did apologise but didn’t know why the job wasn’t allocated to a driver and also said the office closes at 11:30 so that’s why nobody answered the phone. This is not good service and a real panic at the start of a holiday. Big shout out to ABBA, who stepped up and got us there in time.

Got a taxi from my mum's and the taxi…

Got a taxi from my mum's and the taxi was waiting I said hello to the driver I said taxi in my second name they said there wasn't anyone for that name
I thought oh boy attitude straight away then as we supposed to get to my destination they insisted we arrived I said we wasn't anywhere near were I lived
Then they accused me that I couldn't read the map .. What an obnoxious horrible driver .I said just let me out we was arguing that this was the correct address . I just paid what I owed and said can you count ..And also when I said I can read they laughed at me
Never going to use Direct taxis ever again poor service shame on them

I'm sitting in the taxi

I'm sitting in the taxi, this driver is rushing he is pulling out on other motorist and making them avoid crashing in to us.
One car on orford lane just missed us as he pulled out on them.
I hope they have dash cam and report him. Never going to use them again.

Absolutely shocking conduct

My husband booked a taxi from our disabled friends home as he had been to help him . Unfortunately yet again it was horrendous.
The taxi did not arrive at the booking point he rang my husband and told him that he was in another road and refused to drive round. So my husband had to walk to find where this taxi had parked.
As my husband had dashed round to our friend's following a phone call he only had cash on him and the driver was complaining and said he did not want to change a note and that he would charge my husband to go to a cashpoint to get some more money. My husband said no you won't. Its not my problem you are unprofessional and don't have change and i am not being charged to go to a bank at your expense and unprofessional conduct. Eventually when my husband arrived home the driver was still being difficult about my husband paying with cash and for awhile refused to let him out of the taxi ! Its absolutely outrageous and disgusting and you cannot hold customers hostage like.
Unfortunately despite complaining one never receives replies as those in charge do not bother reading emails or replies. Its really time those in charge did just that. Ensure this company runs properly which they don't most of the time they only have 2 drivers available you cannot run a company like this. Those at the " Top " don't bother either listening to their customers we really don't know how they are managing to survive but without other taxi partners they would just fold up. No one should be expected to wait over an hour for a taxi. But we are disgusted by this dtivers attitude he should be sacked for his conduct.
I have never ever come across a firm that operates in the manor that it does. Customers are not a priority or important to direct taxis but without them there would be no company even if it is hanging on by a thread. They are a disgrace

Never again!

Never again!
Wheelchair taxi took my 96yr old dad from his care home to see his brother. Made sure with the driver that a return would be available which he assured me it would be.
Called for return to be told nothing available for two hours!
Stuck on other side of town with a wheelchair bound 96yr old needing his medication.

Direct Taxis Warrington - avoid at all costs

when enquiring about the company address when I wanted to make a complaint, and after many many calls. the Director in charge said he refused to give me the address in case, and i quote verbatim,"IN CASE YOU TORCH US FOR NOT SENDING A TAXI" What on earth is wrong with this company. I think they assume we are all arsonists. Very poor service from a company I once respected
