I booked 2 tickets 2 way tickets through direct ferries from saranda to corfu in June for 228,95€ and we made sure to get refundable tickets incase something comes up, now we're trying to change the return date to an earlier date a week in advance but we are having issues to make the amendment, the website keeps declining our payment method for a 0$ fee to change the booking, we have tried several different cards and its still declining, we went as far as to call our bank to let them accept a 0$ transaction and it's still declining our payment method. We contacted direct ferries they take long to respond even if we respond 5-20 mins later, different people are dealing with our case and their response is that they did not receive our payment for the amendment. This is the hardest 0$ transaction fee that we have to deal with

Dont book by their system. Use Colorline or Stenaline. Because of their system, its just another step/problem to change your tickets. Their advise is by e-mail and not something you should listen to - their lack of knowledge and service and because I used their system, did cost me a completely new ticket and they would not give me a refund for this. They told me that I easily could change my ticket at the harbour and so I went to do so. But Colorline uses an other system that didnt work with Direct ferries. So use Colorline or Stenaline instead

Due to work we needed to change the departure date of our boat from Denmark to Norway a week earlier. We are currently in Denmark and waiting for a response. The response time is really poor. I received 1 proposal to change but that was really expensive so I declined, but this took already 6 days for them to respond. Now we are waiting when we are able to go to Norway. We are really disappointed in the service.

I have bought a return ticket for £195 and I need to reschedule now. Direct Ferries wants to charge me an additional £50 despite it being stated as £10 on their site and the ticket for new dates is £161 which is lower than for the initial dates. No phone number. No response to my online request for more than a week.
Update.
I have contacted Irish Ferries after your reply and yes, they charge £20 for each way date change and do not refund the price difference. I understand the math now, thank you. It is still a pity it is much quicker to receive a response from Direct Ferries here on Trustpilot than trying to contact you directly.

Problem with getting refund for my ticket for which I was due. Very very very difficult to speak with someone who would help. Not a good experience. Finally, now they are twice as much as booking direct with the ferry. I don't know why I didn't think to do that before. But yes, do book direct with the ferry company itself.

I booked a trip from St Maarten to St Barts for travel in May. I booked my tickets on the Direct Ferries website. The price on the screen was £6 less than the price I actually paid. The price jumped when I went onto the payment screen. I contacted DF after payment to ask why I had to pay a higher price. I was told that the £6 was for a booking fee. I replied that at no point during the booking process did the website state that they will charge a booking fee. I even have screenshots of the quote and the payment screen, both of which don't show the booking fee. Their advisor said that they do show the booking fee on the website. I know for a fact that they don't and because they are not transparent about pricing, and given the experience that I had with their advisors I will not be using this company again.

Absolutely appalling customer service. Will never use again and recommend avoiding them. They list a contact number for customer queries but if is just a recorded message telling you they no longer offer voice service and to use the (useless) chat service online or their website. We were unable to change a return ferry time online - the change option was greyed out. We could not get a sensible answer from the chat service. In the end we had to book a new return trip at duplicate cost directly with Red Funnel ferries.

NO phone number to contact this Company for help!!!! And then it costs 60 £ to change information on your reservation by chatting or e-mailing online (because their website won’t allow you to change information through your direct ferry account). Absolute horrible service, never ever ever booking through this website again! Go to the ferry companie’s own website instead og using this platform or whatever it is.

Good - access to many ferries and routes, easy to book
Bad -
(1) not well connected to ferries eg booked a pet & pet cabin which was confirmed in DF email but the pet booking falls through the gaps when transmitted to ferry company - a potential disaster
(2) amendments with outrageous costs - eg
(a) change of registration number of car DF want to charge £45 but calling the ferry company direct enabled that change of car registration for free
(b) wanting to remove car from booking DF wanted to charge €150 MORE to travel without car as foot passenger - but ferry company happy to make a REFUND
(3) Koala is a bit midsold - because you only get 70% refund if you cancel. If you want refundable, better to book a refundable ticket - read the Koala small print carefully

The original vehicle we booked was garaged and we needed to change the vehicle 5 days before sailing on the 23 June 2023
We got an email saying it was not possible but with no explanation.
Our booking ref is DFP160919076.
We have complained.
This is awful customer service with zero logic behind what appears to be a random decision.
We'll see if common sense prevails

I booked through direct ferries on 15theJuly 2022 to sail with Brittany ferries from Poole to Cherbourg on 11th June 2023. I booked what i thought to be a pet friendly cabin, a transporter van, 2 passengers & a dog. I had a confirmation email with all details attached.
In February, I needed to amend the booking to sail on Friday 16th June 2023 which I did and had a confirmation email and paid an amendment cost of £84.
I get a phonecall from Brittany Ferries at 8am on Sunday 11th June stating that they were expecting us on this mornings crossing asking if we were on our way. I explained that i had booked through direct ferries and amended the booking months ago. I wanted piece of mind that I could change the booking to the Friday there and then but they stated I needed to go through direct ferries. They also told me that they do not have pet friendly cabins as its a short crossing and the pets stay in the vehicle.
I could not contact direct ferries directly and had to go through the messaging service. I asked that the booking would be moved to the 16th June and that i would like a refund for the cabin as this was no longer needed as it was pointless if we couldn't have the dog with us.
Eventually I received a confirmation email that they had been in touch with the operator and that the booking was now sorted for the 16th June 2023. No information on the cabin however and the cabin had disappeared from our booking.
I sent another email across asking for the refund and sending a screenshot of our original booking. They replied that they had been in touch with the operator and that there were no cabins booked and i will not be getting a refund.
I have asked a number of times to be contacted by the manager for this to be sorted out asap.
I have since come off the phone with Brittany Ferries and I asked if I was now on the correct ferry and the booking has now been made for the 15th June. I quite clearly cannot make this date as I am still at work. I also asked the operator Rosie from Brittany Ferries who was very polite and helpful if she could see whether I had booked a cabin on my previous sailing and she said that I had but they had since been deleted.
I emailed direct ferries again this morning to ask them to contact me as i want to make sure that i am on the ferry on Friday and that I would like compensation and a refund for the cabin.
This has caused me unnecessary stress to the lead up of my well needed holiday abroad which I have been looking forward to in months. This correspondence has not left me in confidence that this will be dealt with before Friday.
I have learnt a valuable lesson, not to book with direct ferries ever again and to book with the ferry company.
