Beautiful wedding at dimplewell
Our story begins six months ago when my husband, who made it very clear he never wanted a wedding ,got ambushed. I told him we were going for a “quiet drink” at Dimplewell Lodge. Two glasses of wine later, and surprise! We’d booked a wedding. Honestly, men really should read the small print when they marry us.
That’s when Rhianne, our wedding planner, entered the picture. Bless her. This woman didn’t just plan a wedding, she went through a full-scale endurance test. Between my never-ending emails, panicked phone calls, and me discovering my inner Bridezilla (who, apparently, is terrifying), she managed to stay calm. She basically became my unofficial therapist, life coach, and emotional support human. If Dimplewell don’t give her a pay rise, they’re missing a trick.
The night before the wedding, the staff were busy setting up every ridiculous detail I’d requested, including a full-on crisp wall. Yes, a wall of crisps. Forget flower arches and fancy decorations… we’re a classy couple.
On the day itself, I had to do the unthinkable: hand over control. I honestly thought I’d combust. But the team pulled it off flawlessly. The venue looked jaw-droppingly gorgeous, better than I’d even dared imagine (and I’d imagined A LOT). The food was so good our guests practically licked their plates, and the buffet was the stuff of legends. Honestly, if I hadn’t been in a wedding dress, I’d have gone back for thirds.
The staff? Incredible. Attentive, professional, and probably quietly praying never to see my name pop up in their inbox again. They somehow kept everything smooth, calm, and perfect, while I floated around ugly crying and pretending I wasn’t stress-sweating through my makeup.
And my husband? The man who didn’t even want a wedding? He turned to me the next day and said, “I wish we could do it all again.” Shocking, I know. But hey, moral of the story: listen to your wife, because she’s always right.
So, to the staff at Dimplewell Lodge hotel: you didn’t just give us a wedding. You gave us a miracle. You made my husband love something he swore he didn’t want, you tamed my inner Bridezilla (well, sort of), and you created the most perfect, emotional, unforgettable day. We’ll be back for anniversaries ❤️👰♂
