Poor quality items + customer service

I bought some Olivewood utensils which are the exact same ones sold in Borough Kitchen. Unfortunately, within a few weeks of use, some became dry.

I have the same utensils from Borough Kitchen, same brand, and even after many months, they are still smooth and well oiled.

When I contacted support about this, I was initially told that I need to oil them, when I then prompted back saying that I shouldn't be expected to do this so soon after buying them, I was ghosted, didn't get a response. Only when I reached out again, I was told "theres nothing they can do".

Whilst this company sells high quality goods, their customer service, on this occassion, failed. When a customer spends over £70 on high quality utensils, you'd think the service would be better.

Customer care

I visited the store to purchase & return recently purchased pan for advise & to sharpen some knives. The assistant was more interested in telling us it was her last day before her weeks holiday. She was disinterested in selling , looking for date of purchase & did not care about her customer .
The shop was to call when they had the information & the knives sharpened . They did not call & no apology for lack of communication when I went to collect them .
I won’t be returning any time soon.

Superb customer service

I ordered an item and was really pleased then it quickly developed a fault. I told DM by email on Friday afternoon. No quibbles, they said they would post a replacement. It arrived on Saturday morning. That is excellent customer service.

Unclear website and very disappointed customer.

I ordered a casserole dish.It was delivered today without a lid. On investigation I'm told the lid comes as an extra piece at an extortionate price. I have never bought a pot before without a lid! I didn't find the website clear when ordering this item. Some years ago I bought the same pot with lid from Aga. I will be returning to Aga in the future.

The main picture for the item showed the product without a lid and the product text included the warning “Unless otherwise indicated, all lids are supplied separately.” but based on your feedback we will review how we can make this even clearer.

SUPERB ON EVERY LEVEL

I've bought a great deal of minimalist stuff for my modern house recently. So when I came across a cutlery range at David Mellor actually called Minimal, and based on the founder's personal visits to Scandinavia to familiarise himself with their design ethos, the appeal was irresistible.

From first to last, the experience has been a delight. The design and layout of the site bespeaks the inspiration and quality of the products. Communications and delivery were swift and impeccable.

The quality and feel of the cutlery makes all previous knives, forks and spoons I've used feel cheap by comparison, no matter how superior their design and make.

It's a particular pleasure to find a British firm is still more than capable of optimising every aspect of the process, from design through manufacture to marketing and delivery. Congratulations to all at David Mellor Designs.

I have already ordered again, and expect to order more in future [at least, whenever there's a seasonal discount, such as Black Friday and post-Christmas. I prefer the prices to be minimal too ;>)) ]

Excellent Customer Service

Ordering and delivery was easy and efficient, however upon receipt one item was quite badly damaged. I was able to get through by telephone & speak with someone in their office immediately; emailed images of the damage, received a reply by return within 2 hours; replacement item sent yesterday and arrived today, 22 Dec. Excellent, no-nonsense customer service, thank you.

Wonderful customer service

Wonderful customer service. My son bought me a top end corkscrew in May this year. It broke in normal use and David Mellor sent me a replacement by next day delivery. No quibble and very impressive.
