I bought a small electrical appliance…

I bought a small electrical appliance from Darty in Cannes on Rue D’Antibes yesterday - today I needed to return it as it was not what I wanted (unpacked and unsused) when I entered the store I noticed a female customer in front of me was in a heated argument with the store manager. He was raising his voice and frankly shouting at her (she had a similar issue with a return) when it was my turn I explained our issue to a cashier who refused to accept the return citing hygiene rules. I appealed this pointing out there is no written evidence of this policy and that in any case the product was unused and unsuitable. The Darty employee did not see the is as ‘their problem’. Then came the manager (already it seems wound up from his previous encounter with a customer..) he started to argue, shout and go red in the face - behaviour completely inappropriate and something I have never seen during an in store engament in 50 years of shopping - at one point he actually grabbed the product and slammed it to the ground! If one could see the CCTV replay of this display it would surely look like a scene from a movie! When I asked for his name he replied ‘you heard of God? I am the name above him.’ He then basically threw me out of the store! When returning to protest the treatment I asked one after another of the other store staff for his name and each refused to give it! Utterly bizarre- closing ranks on their obviously unhinged manager because they don’t want to suffer his wrath later on! It’s like some kind of a feudal order not a modern day customer friendly electronics store of 2021! An incredibly bad experience - Darty cannot possibly succeed a a business if this is how they manage customers!

I PAID 400 EURO FOR A BAD MACHINE!

I bought a Thompson washing-up machine with a 100 euro 5 year garantie. From the start it did not clean well. How very strange? It is the only!! thing it was made for. I can clean pots, pans and dishes every single day.
So I called to have someone repair it and work properly.
Now after 2 years, it still does not clean properly AND during the last visit with no result. The guy said, you should have bought a more expensive machine. I BEG YOUR PARDON. I paid 400 euro for a machine, which did not work from the start. HELLO DARTY, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO REPLACE THE MACHINE FOR ONE WHO WORKS???

How to treat someone recently widowed

Just tried to help a recently widowed lady who speaks little french to get her Electrolux washing machine fixed. She already had the service engineer to try to fix it late last year but the problem returned. She tried to get them to come again without success. We rang on the second of April and she was given a time on the following Friday. Darty in the morning and tried to cancel the meeting, by this time she was in bits and they finally came in the evening and told her they couldn't do anything without a spare part and would come the Friday coming. They have now rung her again and told her they can't come as they haven't got the spare. For an Electrolux machine only a few years old this is unbelievable.
She has been paying 9.99 euros monthly for this service!!!
Don't go anywhere near Darty, unless you want this level of service.

Avoid Darty

Please, avoid Darty. What a nightmare. I bought a small kitchen through Darty (but in fact through Marktplace). We were surprised to see that the size of the furniture received is different from the one described on their web site. We asked them to take it back and we were shocked to learn that we have to send it back and to Poland (at a cost of approximatly 45% of the kitchen price) even though we bought the product in France

I bought a phone from Mecolorful

I bought a phone from Mecolorful, their partner. The phone had a lot of problems. I sent back the phone. I called them 1000 times with a premium rate number. Each time I got the same answer. They have really a very bad customer service I mean "Market Place".I got my reimbursement 5 months later!
AVOID MECOLORFUL WITH DARTY.
If you want to buy something, just buy it directly from DARTY! not their partners.

Total fail

It happened twice within three months: I ordered a simple audio cable, first one to be delivered by Zoomici, second by Alpexe. Product reportedly sent with the possibility of tracking but no tracking number given. Product never arrived. Positive: instant reimbursement. But thanks, never again. Darty offers a service they can't handle, they are completely. incompetent. Oh, and once you registered online you can't pay with another credit card than the one connected to the registered name.

First, they don’t show up to repair “one of the best” (and most expensive) dryers. Then they come, but hey -a part missing. “Delivered in a week”. You call a week in “we will call you back”. Its 2 months now, the dryer is not repaired and I am spending my time on hotlines.
To be avoided

Beware Click & Collect

Beware Click & Collect. I ordered & paid for a new printer online for collection in the St Jean d’Angely Store. In under 2 weeks it developed a fatal fault. I returned it to the store for a replacement or refund within 14 days - which I believed was my statutory right. They said because it was bought on line they could only repair it. Which has meant buying yet another printer as I cannot be without one. Buying online seems to reduce your rights!

Awful service, NOT SERIOUS

Hi,
I would not recomend to but any product in Darty. I bought a computer DELL INSPIRON for homebased work and in my first video conference the microphone did not work. I had to go to the store and they told me to call the phone SAV (Service Afer Sell) since it was almost sure that it was due to a bad configuration of the software. This was one week after I bought the product. After one hour on the phone they told me that the issue was solved, but I tried and the micro still did not work. I went AGAIN to the store and spent there another hour with the IT. They told me again that the problem was solved. I went home and the problem still there. I had to go to the store FOUR times, with a NEW computer and finally they told me that since it had happend more than 11 days since I bought the computer I could not return the defective product they had sold me... If since the begining (my first visit to the shop) they had told me a good diagnostic the 11 days had not been passed. Any way right now I had to use a friend’s computer that I asked for since I had no computer to use for work!! I bought in Darty since I though the client service was serious but NOT AT ALL. They sell a product that does not work and they send you home without the product for a month ( will see how much time does the computer spend in the SAV ...)... I am very dissapointed with Darty and I will never recomend to buy there.

Worst experience

Worst experience. They gave me wrong product and when i went again after 1 hour to return (without receipt as it got drenched in rain and i lost it), they dint return as there was no receipt and they said you lost receipt its not my problem. I left that product there and lost all my money. They could have checked in the database to help. They even remembered my face but said NO rudely no. I will never go there again.

If you want to get your "express"…

If you want to get your "express" delivery with chronopost reimbursed because it was everything but express there is no way to contact them, only dumb chatbot telling you humans are busy.

Felling frustrated after buying 2…

Felling frustrated after buying 2 articles on Darty the platform crashed several times, even worse! I purchased the articles at the name of my company with my company account, the orders show clearly that they were made on my company's name but when I get the invoices they are on my personal name which I cannot deduct my VAT from and deduct from taxes. Called customer service which charges 60cents per minute just to be called a liar by a customer service rep who says there are no supervisors available to speak to why because they are in a meeting....
It's outrageous that you spend your hard earned money with this company and they don't even try to help sort a problem that clearly is the product of a faulty online platform.
It's funny how local businesses complaint about people spending their money on Amazon but won't even make an effort to at least try and give the minimum of efficiency to their customers.
