Terrible

Terrible, went to collect a coffee maker, this was going to be a Christmas gift. The coffee pods included in pack were out of date by 1 month which is illegal. To be fair the member of staff tried to find another one in date but no luck, so refunded, Wasted trip to Eastbourne and I relieved I noticed the date on the box with expired date! A Christmas gift could have made someone very ill!!!

exceptionally helpful

The sales advisor at Eastbourne - Oscar - was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable in explaining the features of the Microsoft Surface pc I was buying for my partner, and also of products that may be of interest to myself in due course.

Trade in

I went into Currys to trade in my ps5 for a ps5 pro. It was not as easy as the Currys website implied it would be, but the salesman Albion that worked there was brilliant. He sorted out my trade in, and him and Simon helped me sort out the trade in so I could use it against the ps5 pro. I went in over two days and both days Albion was very helpful and cheerful. I was there over an hour on both visits and he was very patient and managed to sort everything out and never once made me feel like I was taking up his time. Thank you Albion again for all your help!

Sales lady Nicola made everything…

Sales lady Nicola made everything simple and stress free. Back in the summer she helped us purchase an American style fridge freezer. She is typical of the wonderful service we've enjoyed for many years at Curry's. Plus just a few days ago she helped us buy a new electric oven. Friendly and amazing. Thanks Nic x

Disaster from start to finish

Disaster from start to finish. Went to shop for advice and spoke to employee in store and gave product code for current fridge freezer so they could advise us on right replacement. They ordered us the right size but wrong split. Delivery drivers came to install and told us wrong type so couldn’t install. They arranged the return for us there and then but told us refund would be automatic and to keep checking bank for refund so we could order correct one online, or go in store. Almost a week later we got phone voicemail from Currys Eastbourne store telling us we needed to go in store to confirm if we wanted refund or replacement.

We phoned Currys customer services to request the refund or arrange replacement but they told us we had to do this in store - which is almost an hour from our home. Asked them to arrange refund over phone but they said they had no way of contacting anyone else at Currys Eastbourne by phone or email to confirm. Ended phone call very confused and frustrated that customer services are unable to support on refunds or product enquiries - support was incredibly unhelpful.

I looked online and it says you can raise a complaint over phone. So I called again and was told complaints can only be made in store. For a company on this scale to have no way of raising a complaint remotely is insane. I asked the advisor to send or give me a copy of Currys complaint policy. I asked for this several times and the request was ignored, and I was just told to complain in store.

I phoned again, and was told by a seperate advisor that I actually COULD get my money back over the phone - just not through customer services, and that they just needed to transfer me to Currys retail phone line. They cold transferred me without passing over any notes. After explaining the whole situation for the fourth time, expecting to finally be on the right track to getting a refund and arranging the correct fridge, I spoke to a new advisor who also then advised me that I in fact still could not get my refund over the phone and that I had to go in store. The least supportive customer services experience I’ve ever had unfortunately.

So we then had to wait another few days until we could go to Eastbourne (in the meanwhile having a broken fridge that froze everything inside and kept ruining our shopping). My partner is a few days away from giving birth, so we had planned to have the fridge ready well in advance. So driving an hour in the opposite direction from the hospital was not ideal.

We then spoke to someone in store. The guy on the tills was actually very helpful and arranged a replacement. This was the only positive interaction we’ve had through the whole experience so thank you to Harrison for his support and understanding that our time pressure to get this solved with baby soon to arrive was important, so arranged next day delivery.

We then spoke to store manager in store, following the advice of people over phone who told us complaint had to be raised in store. He told use there is no complaint procedure for complaining about all of the above, and that our only option would be to raise a complaint on trustpilot.

Phone advisors told us if we couldn’t raise a complaint to store manager in store to contact head office. Only to find out head office can only be contacted in writing - by post.

THEN - delivery drivers came and were very friendly and understanding . However, they have scraped our kitchen leaving a few scratches that won’t rub off, and one smaller patch that went straight through to the wood under the top of the laminate.

We also paid for installation, and they did not install the top runner on the freezer at all, leaving it wobbly and only supported by the bottom runner. They also took the top freezer runner bar away - and failed to tell us they were unable to install it before leaving - hoping we would not notice.

The bottom runner was also installed at the wrong height, which two days after the install caused the slider to slip off and now the door is not connected to the freezer unit at all.

There are other causes of frustration around the experience too, but these are the key points.

The whole customer experience from start to finish (except for one moment with Harrison and the sales manager who were very apologetic and understanding at the store desk) has been incredibly difficult, confusing, obstructive.

We sought advice from the team originally specifically to avoid us ordering the wrong thing. In store team told us wrong advice and ordered wrong one - despite having product code and a photo of our 50/50 unit. Delivery team told us wrong thing with the refund so we spent a week waiting for a refund to land, only to find out that was incorrect. Damages to floor, and the install service we paid for incomplete - no way to raise complaint and policy on this.

Please call us or email to discuss.
