Sailing with Cunard makes you feel special. Dressing for an evening of eating and entertainment certainly makes the cruise for myself and my wife. There are many other cruise lines that do not enforce... See more

Our first time on a cruise and loved…
Our first time on a cruise and loved it (Queen Elizabeth) …We upgraded to princess grille and was worth it…. Have your own table/chair (breakfast/lunch/dinner) … excellent food options. Definitely book your excursions as early as possible because most of the great ones were booked by the time it sailed… Also keep checking cause they will add others as it gets closer so you can change them if you find others better… Our princess grille came with a mini fridge so it’s not a cooler as some had described it on tik tok or you tube …. Comes with plenty of hangers and AC works great !!!
Alaska is amazing
Alaska is amazing! A bucket list place to visit and really it can only be done by sea. We saw bears, amazing glaciers, had cool, damp weather but that was how I liked it! The colours were beautiful.
We love Cunard, and especially enjoyed the Queen Elizabeth- the semi formality, dress for dinner atmosphere. The staff were friendly, Court Theatre Company superb!
Great trip- unfortunately they are giving up their Alaskan routes to focus on Europe.
Cunard are still up there!
Cunard are a great cruise line speaking as an ex merchant seaman. I would say that it is more mid- upper range. It depends on which cruise you choose that generally determines the guest ages, also mostly upper 50,s.
The food is still excellent although, like every other business in these current times of price hikes, food, fuel, etc there are very subtle changes, such as charging for room service, when that was not the case previously.
Overall the ships are safe, and historic, and I would recommend anyone to take a voyage.
Wonderful Time on Queen Elizabeth
Our Princess Grill stateroom was so comfortable and our Princess Geill dining experience was outstanding. Room and dining service provided was top notch. Enjoyable on shore excursions and on ship activities. We will be back.
You want me to be honest ?
You want me to be honest ? Well have just returned from a cruise on Queen Anne ...... The cruise was very good. The ship was excellent. We have given excellent reviews
on the ship the staff the service. All first class!
Cunard themselves haven't a clue when it comes to customer service!! We booked the cruise on the basis of being offered a coach transfer to Southampton from a pick up point close to where we live. We were told to call the coach transfer several weeks prior to departure to confirm the transfer. We did as instructed. Only to be told the coach company DID NOT offer a transfer as we were told and we would need to get ourselves to central London (100 miles away) to get the coach transfer. Apparently the coach comany said they do do transfers to Southampton for P&O .... But not for Cunard.......Wonderful ... probably would'nt have booked had we known this, so booked having been given misleading information!!! We were offered additional on board credit as a gesture for their 'mess up'
We received a letter (We have kept) confirming our onboard credit would be increased to £450 as we now had to make the 4 hour journey to southampton ourseves. On board we went to check our credit at the purses office to be told that this was an error by Cunard .....strangely again!! and it it was infact $450 not £'s .
We showed the purser our confirmation letter from Cunard and the said they would check . The purser came back to us within 24 hours to say Cunard said our confirmation letter was an error on their part and that
Cunard would not honour their offer as per their written correspondence. I think this is very very poor!!! and certainly WILL NOT book with Cunard ever again. They are happy to do this to people for the sake of £100 or so.
So be it. I spoke to several people on the cruise who had had similar occurancies where Cunard had refused to honour offers ... only for a few dollars here and there..... penny pinching in the extreme!! I have cruised for many many years with Princess and on the odd occasion something has gone wrong they have bent over backwards to put things right and make sure we were never out of pocket ....... That is customer service!!
As I said the ship was lovely.... The crew and service excellent. Cunard however have not a clue when it comes to customer service. I won't be going Cunard again.

I have notably been in Hospitality most of my life and it was an utter pleasure to see such 5*-ness throughout the entire cruise. The food and the service at all times was simply the very best with knobs on.
Holiday ruined by terrible airport experience
We decided to book a fly cruise with Cunard instead of going from Southampton.
The Cruise itself was mostly fine - they are beginning to cut back on some of the features - not as many speakers, no films or afternoon performances. As ballroom dancers we were disappointed by the number of times the Queen's Room was unavailable.
However our main problem was the lack of a Cunard representative at Rome airport. When we got to the airport there was a huge queue to check in (about 1 1/2 hours) & my husband was taken ill. There was no-one to help & I was told he could sit down but I had to stand in the queue - I couldn't even go & get him a drink. We then had to dash through the airport to catch our flight - which was 2 hours late. This was a Cunard flight but there was no Cunard staff available to help. I will never take a Cunard flight again the service was appalling.
Norway Fjords
Traveled with Cunard a few times now it’s a pleasure being on board with them looking forward to next trip now
Cunard great for Gluten Free passengers
As a gluten free senior I found Cunard went over and above to ensure I had the food I needed. They had a lounge where exclusively gf foods were available for afternoon tea. The lectures excelled, the entertainment was exceptional, we travelled to UK during inclement weather but found the ship stable, and so much to do the seven days passed quickly. Wonderful trip!
Don’t expect to smoke in comfort!
Please, please pay more consideration especially on the Queen Anne to the designated smoking area. We are not awful people! There is no effort made to clean/wipe the tables or chairs even when it’s been raining. We are not made welcome or comfortable, very unfair.
Everyone should do this once in their life!
You can’t get bored but if you want time to yourself your cabin is perfect for relaxing in peace. Food excellent, entertainment is great, pub on board - 10 stars! The transatlantic crossing is a bucket list item everyone should do!
First time on a Cunard ship
First time on a Cunard ship. The whole trip was brillant. The staff on board tge Queen work very hard and are very welcoming and polite. They made our trip very enjoyable. The ship was very comfortable and the foot was excellant
First ever cruise and what a way to start!
First ever cruise and what a way to start! Took my 88 year old mum to New York from Southampton. A truly wonderful experience. Beautiful ship, lovely cabin, wonderful service and staff and a truly memorable and relaxing experience. As soon as I disembarked I missed it!
First time on Queen Anne
First time on Queen Anne was a delightful experience. Wonderful ship, great entertainment, first class service and the best food I have had on any Cunard ship. The Le Gavroche at Sea experience is highly recommended.
Superb cruise and a wonderful way to…
Superb cruise and a wonderful way to cross the Atlantic (and cheaper than premium economy!). Cunard is iconic and classy. We would do it again at the drop of a hat!
You have to try Cunard if you love…
You have to try Cunard if you love everything British and the elegance of the cruise ships of yesteryear! If you love high tea and dressing up this is your ship! The people are courteous and a delight to get to know. Cunard offers port valet; where they take your luggage to the airport and give you your boarding pass! You also get free breakfast room service everyday. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. I’ll be cruising again and again on Cunard
Queen Mary 2 is Center Stage
This was a special "London Theatre at Sea" cruise in partnership with the Olivier Awards. There were several artists on board giving talks and workshops. To spend time with these gifted people was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
WHAT IS HAPPENING TO CUNARDS THEATRE ENTERTAINMENT?
I write as a long time Cunard customer (platinum level) regarding the Alaska cruise we were just on
My wife and I cannot believe the shambolic nature of the theatre entertainment on board this ship. It is terrible.
I honestly cannot stress how amateurish and embarrassing the so called evening entertainment has been. There was a time when people used to have to run after dinner to get a seat in the theatre, it's barely a third full these days.
It took a week into the cruise to get a 'west end' style song and dance show, which is something Cunard used to be good at when we first started cruising with you many years ago in our 30's.
Instead we got a tone deaf singer for 2 nights, a multi instrumentalist for 2 nights, a collection of singers strutting round the stage etc. We finally got a proper show 'be our guest' which was on a 21 day qm2 cruise we did a year ago! Then an awful 1970s style 'comedian'.
The production of 'Come from away' near the end was excellent, but that's 1 night out of 12, and all the company effort appeared to be dedicated to that one show.
We have been told a member of the cast had been injured and had to leave but that was during a previous cruise. How hard can it be to replace people?
We have raised these issues with the activity manager and he has pointed out how many people have complained and this gets fed back to Cunard. He also told us that despite the feedback to Cunard nothing seems to change. Cunard on shore apparently dictate to the ships the entertainment they have. If true, where is the sense in that?
The entertainment is a major part of cruising and if its going to continue being this bad then maybe its time we moved to another cruise line? We love the black tie and formality of a proper cruise line, shown by our loyalty to you, but there is so much competition out there now, we shouldn't have to put up with this low standard of show. Plus no one seems to have the guts to enforce the dress code either.
The amount of 1st time cruisers who have asked us if the entertainment is always this bad is numerous. Its embarrassing frankly. First impressions matter.
We went on celebrity constellation in 2024 and they gave a different west end show every single night. The production and quality was astounding. How can Cunard not even manage to get near this?
Cunard has a niche place in the market in that its loyal customers come back because of the black tie etc, but it's clear that won't last and your customer base will vote with their feet. Just because the ships have a 1920s feel doesn't mean the entertainment should come from that era too.
We have a cruise booked for November on qv and next April on qe and honestly we are considering cancelling.
I raised this issues back in 2024 on a qv cruise which was also bad but clearly Cunard aren't taking any notice, obviously.
Its time for a wholesale clear out of the management teams within Cunard entertainment and fresh blood is required. It clearly isnt working.
Couple that with a constant sewage stench on deck 2 at the queens room, a problem queen Victoria also had, then standards are clearly slipping. I truly hope Cunard isn't going the way of P&O, which now seems to be positioning itself at the lower end of the market, hence why we no longer cruise with them.
Then the wine tasting for platinum members organised at the exact same time as the glacier comes into view, so we have to leave that before we get a drop to drink. How hard can it be?
We are more than happy to discuss these matters further in order to help. But we are customers after all and hope to actually be listened too.
Cruise lines take years to build up a good reputation but that can be destroyed very quickly, again see p and o. My grandparents cruised qe2 and Canberra, my parents p and o, and now my wife and I cruise Cunard. But, of all the lines we have cruised, Cunards levels of entertainment is easily at the bottom.
We want cunard to succeed but you're making it hard to want to come back.
It was just a spilled drink.....
As a seasoned cruisers we were so looking forward to our first trip on Cunard. Sadly it will be our last, as it was marred by several niggles including the numerous phone calls we were forced to make regarding the removal of service charges on our account, plus poor service in some bars etc However the biggest turn off was an incident we witnessed in one of the bars on board. Where a junior member of staff( a delightful girl ) was berated in view of passengers by a senior member of staff over a spilled drink ( a complete accident by the way) .We were appalled, as were other passengers on adjacent tables who also voiced their concerns as it was completely unacceptable. So we wrote a letter of support to the server's line manager. Who to his great credit graciously contacted us to discuss the matter further ( I won't name names to protect individuals privacy. )
It was upsetting to say the least, and it played on our minds throughout the holiday. Point being if incidents like this can happen in public view , what on earth goes on behind the scenes.?
We wrote to Cunard on our return to express our concerns, and received what we consider a standard response /apology. No explanation as such, just sorry you had to witness it, which was disappointing to say the least.Sadly our moral compass is such, we cannot tolerate what in essence is tantamount to bullying, hence we won't be travelling with Cunard again.
As a footnote and in the spirit of fairness, food and drinks very good (including speciality dining )and our cabin was comfortable and kept spotlessly clean.
A wonderful experience beginning to…
A wonderful experience beginning to end. Service was very professional and responsive. The Theatre at Sea was an unexpected bonus on this crossing. The performers were top notch and the production was superbly organized. Cunard would do well to return the same producer and staff for its next Theatre at Sea themed crossing.
