I bought 5 litres of Crown white emulsion from Homebase this morning for £18 which I thought was a fair price for a good quality paint.
I have tried it painting over magnolia walls in my front room, but I feel very disappointed by the thin coverage, and think I will try another brand or it will take me forever to complete my job!

We used their ‘Macphersons’ durable Matt paint in blue, via a decorator who recommended using it rather than supplying our own paint.
This was a huge mistake. The DURABLE paint marks with just your fingers. I’d upload a picture/video if I could.
We went back to the Crown supply store to complain. It’s taken over 3 months for their ‘technical team’ to test it, only to confirm their DURABLE paint is meant to be like that and they won’t do anything about it.
We have been unable to fit curtains in our new bedroom while this episode has lingered on, as the window wall needs repainting to remove all evidence of this terrible paint.
Absolutely shocking, I will never use Crown paint ever again and I will be sharing the pictures/videos of their shocking paint in as many places as possible.
STICK TO DULUX AND OTHER BRANDS. AVOID CROWN.

We used this paint just last week colour ‘Early Dawn’ perfect colour. Couple of days later there was a big watermark on the middle of the wall I tried to wipe it off and it only stained more. I put a wet finger by the light switch and it stained again. Water just stains the walls absolutely awful paint. We now need to redecorate the whole room again two 2.5l tins used and a waste of time off work to do it. We would like a refund from Crown at least for the paint.

Absolutely shocking quality paint. This has to be the worst paint I've ever used. Lovely colour.
But that's as far as the praise goes. I cannot believe they can get away with selling it. After finishing don't make the mistake of touching your walls, yes the fingerprints will show. Don't go to wipe it, it'll stain your walls.
Okay so you go touch up, but no the paint will not match. My walls look worse than before.

Brought a 10 litre white emulsion from wickes this morning to do my ceiling. The ceiling just needed freshening up, it wasn't dirty. How I wish I had never brought it. I finished painting the ceiling at 7pm tonight. I had to put 3 coats on, just checked it and it still need another coat!!!. It has dried up patchy and looks awful. I usually only have to paint my ceilings once. I applied it evenly and with full coverage. I can't believe that I wasted a day just painting the ceiling. I am so disappointed, suffice to say I will never buy Crown again and would never recommend anybody else to buy it. Disappointed beyond words.
Just to update. I received a response from Crown customer service, who asked me to email them with further information. Long and short, I emailed over the serial number and my receipt and I am pleased to say they are in the process of refunding me which I am very grateful for. Thank you for listening to my complaint and for Crown to act upon it so promptly

Do not buy this paint it's useless for covering wood doors or skirting it goes on like a milky varnish unless you already have painted the base brilliant white and just want a type of varnish sheen.... I love ed their water based no drip gloss by crown but it was taken of the market... !!!

Crown brilliant white water based paint. Nothing brilliant about this paint, water yes it's like water when applied. Fully stirred and new brush. Won't buy this again.

I had a problem with a Sandtex product which the re-seller, whom I purchased it from, would not offer any form of assistance. I contacted Crown Customer Care directly who were fantastic. They took on board the issue I had and having quickly assessed the issue refunded me the cost of the product. There was no debates or difficulties. They were keen to help and resolve the issue. Dealing with them was a breath of fresh air and I would have no hesitation in recommending them in the future. Excellent customer service and response. Well done Crown and the team.

Do not buy any samples from this website. I wanted to buy some sample paint and thought where better than the Crown website itself, but what you actually get is a piece of card. For £3.99 I was expecting actual paint, not a piece of paper (silly me) - you can get a pot of paint from other shops for less than £3.99 so how they charge so much for a sample card is beyond me.
I contacted them on their website for a refund, and heard nothing back from them.
EDIT: I emailed them as they told me to but still heard nothing back. Been contacting them for weeks. Stay away from this company.

After 25 years working with paints I have never been convinced by Crown paint. Today I painted an already grey wall with Crown grey matt emulsion and even after 2 good coats it has dried irregularly and unprofessional. Heard their ad on the radio stating 97%of professional tradesmen recommend Crown... I do not. Its gloopy to work with and the finish is poor.

I have always used Sadolin Extra this wood stain is exceptional it has lasted 10 years.
Last week, and also today I needed a little advice, on staining a fence, and also a gate. The customer service was outstanding. I highly rate Andrea, and also her colleague who sadly I don’t have her name. Gosh they really know their stuff. What a truly exceptional experience I have received. Thank you, so, so, much.

Customer purchased Crafted by crown paint for a large job in her home.
Very disappointed by the performance of this product, especially as it costs £36 for 2.5 litres. Covering a light sage colour with new chapter and I'm already onto the third tin and three coats. Going to take the remaining seven tins back to Homebase and get refund. Very poor.

Bought Crown quick dry white satin paint as dulux Once was out of stock. The Crown paint is completely useless. After three long stirs its still like milk. Will not cover a tiny wood chip and cutting in over a very light grey matt wall paint I continue to see the colour beneath. Do NOT waste your money on this rubbish. I'm going back to Dulux now

The ELLE paint range is the best paint I have ever used. I had to repaint a dark red room and just one coat of this gave an beautiful and perfect finish. An absolute pleasure to apply. The standard range is a bit watery but this is perfect.

Just bought a tin of white interior and exterior paint. It is the consistency of milk and doesn't cover the old paint. Sanded down and washed before using as usual but can't use the rest. Tin was thoroughly mixed before starting too.

I bought the crown bathroom paint, worst paint I have ever bought. Dries whilst you are working it and is "lumpy". Has an awful plastic feeling finish. Needed 3 coats to cover a beige colour. Ruined my new bathroom. Can't say how disappointed I am with it.

Colour in pot bears no relation to colour sample on outside. Navy blue isn’t, its bright blue. Only had 2 cupboard doors to paint and it’s turning into an ordeal. Customer relations unhelpful asked if I’d used primer/ undercoat -yes I have. Want help and a refund. Hours of work wasted

Just have to say how disappointed I am with the accuracy of the colour chart vs real paint colour,
I have now repainted my walls three times due to the colour guide being so far off.
Pacific oyster comes out like sky blue which is what I was trying to avoid.
Blue gravel is like a mid blue.
Now my walls are extremely cold looking and I have not got the time or resources to re do it all again!
A real shame as I just wanted the colours shown in the chart.
Now I have to re think the whole project.
My flooring will have to be re ordered also.
Also I initially bought Day dreamer but fortunately read reviews on it before opening the tin..again was like sky blue!…really unimpressed and would not recommend.
Wanted to include pictures of how badly off the colours are but cannot find how to do this…would save people a lot of time and money!!
