This is without a doubt the worst…
This is without a doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with in terms of customer service - if you’re considering purchasing a sentimental item through them, absolutely do not do it. I requested via email an engraving on a ring prior to making the purchase, exactly as their site instructs customers to do. It took 5 days to get a response back, and all it said was a simple copy-paste response about the length of my requested engraving and a ‘let us know if you’d like to proceed’. After a couple more emails back and forth, I placed my order and included the discussed engraving information in the purchase notes for the seller. It was over a month later that I was contacted to advise that they’d ’received’ (I find ‘received’ an interesting word choice from them, as I thought they made their jewellery in-house) my ring and it hadn’t been engraved because I ‘hadn’t been issued the $90 invoice’. This was the first time in about 4 emails to/from customer service that they’d mentioned there was an additional charge for engraving. There was no apology for not sending me the invoice or not informing me of the charge either, which is extremely disappointing. Had the invoice been provided at time of purchase, I very happily would have paid it as this ring was supposed to be very sentimental gift and the engraving was a large part of that. They indicated in the email that my ring would need to be put back into production if I still wanted them to engrave it, which would delay it getting sent to me. I ultimately decided to decline as I’d lost complete trust and faith in them. I would absolutely never purchase from them again, this situation caused far too much stress for something that was meant to be very special to me.

MASSIVE SCAMMER
MASSIVE SCAMMER. I bought a 14kt land signet ring several years back and had it brought to a jeweller who said it was silver plated with gold.
Didnt deliver a ring, trying to take legal action.
Terrible service! I ordered a $2000 wedding ring in gold with a small diamond on the side from Crooked Howlett, in which they sent the wrong ring (I live in Norway). They agreed to reimburse for postage which I havent recieved and ignore my question when I ask.
Then when it got sent back to them they sent a ring that was rushed in a week to make for my wedding.
The rushed ring had a crack in it which got sent back to them... AGAIN! STILL NOT REIMBUSED, It then had taken 2 months to make which I was speaking with 'Jane' who agreed the ring would be sent marked as gift to Norway to avoid taxes. They then sent it to an address in Australia and when I told them they sent it to the wrong address they said there is nothing they can do!!??
Am i just not going to have my 2000 aud ring?
They are an absolute joke and am going to try and take legal action if not solved as I have all the emails to prove these claims and the empty promises they made.

I ordered a ring from Crooked Howlet in June last year — it’s now been over 12 months, and I still haven’t received it. Let that sink in: a full year, and they’ve failed to deliver a single ring.
In that time, I’ve sent over 30 emails trying to get answers. What I’ve received in return is vague promises, constant deflections, and outright silence. Their customer service is abysmal — completely unprofessional and clearly uninterested in resolving the issue. It’s like they hope you’ll just give up and forget they owe you something.
They continue to advertise and take new orders while people like me are still left waiting indefinitely. How is this even legal?
Crooked Howlet operates like a scam — all polish on the surface, but once they have your money, the communication vanishes and so does your product. At this point, I’ve lost trust entirely. Based on my experience, I strongly urge others to stay far away from this company.
They do not deserve your business. They deserve to be called out.
Lied about making my pendant
Ordered a pendant 2 months ago and still haven't got mine. Turns out they haven't made my pendant. "Made to order" what a joke. How about don't take anymore orders until you actually make your goods and deliver to your customers

Such poor service. We placed an order in November 2024 and are still waiting for it to be filled. The order was partially filled, after numerous emails as at May 2025 the order still have not been filled.
I purchased two rings from Howlett
I purchased two rings from Howlett: the Square Onyx on March 2, 2025, and the Ace of Spades on March 3, 2025. A couple of days ago, I received the Ace of Spades and was very pleased with the quality—it was well worth the wait.
As for the Square Onyx, it did ship, but I received the wrong item. I returned it to the provided address, and they are currently in the process of sending me the correct one.
I’ve been a customer of Howlett since 2023, and their rings have always been of exceptional quality. I’m happy with my purchase overall. I believe the issue this time was due to a large influx of orders that may have overwhelmed their fulfillment process. Despite that, I decided to give them a second chance—and they delivered.
Their customer service has been consistently responsive and attentive to my emails and messages. The purpose of this review is to let others know that this company is legitimate and appears to be learning from its mistakes.
If you don’t mind waiting 2–3 months for a high-quality ring that stands the test of time, I’d say it’s totally worth it. Hope this helps.

My ring size was wrong so I paid to have it changed, it arrives back and they send me the wrong size… I send it back and I’m still waiting. Ordered in November 2024… it’s now March 2025!
Unfortunately it seems they priorities new orders, one day releases and money coming in more than they priorities more challenging purchases and unfortunately returning customers.
I don’t think they are a dishonest company, you will get your ring… just be prepared to have a whole load of life admin you didn’t sign up for…
Really disappointing
I placed an order on November 12, 2024, which I received just a few days later. However, I returned it the following day for resizing, as their website boasts a “perfect fit guarantee”. After receiving confirmation that the item had been returned, it remained marked as “pending inspection” for six weeks. During this time, I reached out multiple times via email and through their website but only received vague responses and unfulfilled promises like, “I’ll follow it up and get back to you.”, and then wouldn’t hear anything further.
Eventually, on January 6, 2025, the order status updated to “order exchanged,” but nothing progressed from there. 10 days after this update I was forced to demand a resolution by close of business or pursue a refund. From reading past reviews after my experience, this seems to be an ongoing issue, which is really sad on their behalf.
It’s disappointing, as I’ve always admired this brand and saved to purchase a few of their pieces in the past. Unfortunately, after this prolonged and frustrating experience with their customer service, I can no longer support them and won’t be purchasing from them again.
Update – 15 Days Past the 10-Day Refund Promise, Still No Refund
I initially posted this review on January 17, 2025, and unfortunately, the situation has only worsened. Despite being promised a refund within 10 days, it has now been 15 days, and I have still not received my money. Customer service continues to lead me in circles with empty promises and zero accountability.
At this point, it’s clear that their customer service is beyond a joke. They do not care about their customers, nor do they have any interest in resolving issues. The repeated delays and lack of transparency make this company completely untrustworthy.
Another major red flag is the company’s misleading review system. Their website claims to have over 1,000 positive reviews, yet there is no option to leave a review directly on their site. When I requested a link to do so, I was only provided with a link to this Trustpilot page, which has only around 60 reviews—most of which are negative.
This makes it abundantly clear that they do not allow real customers to leave feedback on their own platform, likely to manipulate their reputation. A trustworthy business would allow all genuine customer experiences to be shared openly, but instead of fixing their repeated customer service failures, this company seems to hide the truth.
This strongly suggests that they either:
❌ Filter out negative reviews
❌ Prevent real customers from leaving feedback
❌ Fabricate positive reviews to maintain a false reputation
A warning to anyone considering purchasing from this company—DON’T. If anything goes wrong with your order, you will be stuck in an endless loop of excuses, delays, and frustration. For the price you pay for these pieces, this level of service is utterly disgusting. Save yourself the stress and shop elsewhere.

High quality products, just expect a bit of a wait
Howlet make high quality and unique jewellery, their designs are not like any other jewelers I have seen and alongside this they charge what I would consider to be fairly reasonable prices.
As other reviews point out, their lead times are quite long which can be frustrating, I have had an email discussion with the owner of Howlet who acknowledged this and from the outside, seems committed to trying to improve processing and delivery times.
I've bought products that are in stock which arrived in the UK from Australia within a week which is super quick and so far I have not been charged any customs fees, so again no complaints there.
Howlet might be one to keep an eye on, their products are great and if they can improve their processing times then I think they'll keep going from strength to strength.

Received an automated welcome email stating a 25 day turnaround as the rings are custom made. 2 months passed and I reached out to receive the “we are taking longer than expected” automated response. I waited another month before I cancelled my order and received a refund. They may be a great company with a great product who knows. When you can’t complete orders I feel like it’s only a matter of time until this business goes under and anyone who hasn’t already gotten a refund, won’t be getting one.

Failed deadlines, lack of communication, overall I’d say go somewhere else. It seems like they’re trying to grow too quickly & can not meet the expectations of the clients they have. I made a purchase in the start of November for Xmas, at the time their website said it would be ready by 25th November. I never heard anything from them until I started contacting them. Excuse after excuse was given. At no time did they give me a completion date. At no time did they communicate with the exception of answering my emails with vague meaningless answers. So here I am a week before Xmas & I’m trying to chase them for a refund..

If production has been such an issue (and for quite a while, it seems), then at least have the guts to put it on your website and socials as a warning.

The most horrible experience of my life and it is still on going!
I ordered from this shop in August, by the end of October I still had not received my products. I have been communicating with their customer service rep and I get the exact same response every time, "i will go check on your oder and give you an update" then weeks go by and there is no update. Now, I have requested a refund and I get the same response. I will check with team and give you an update. All I want is my money back so I can move on with my life. It should not be this difficult !

That said, as other reviewers stated, their production time is slower than advertised. I think they're going through some growing pains as their business is scaling. Just keep this in mind, and possibly reach out in advance to get an estimate. I'll say, given the quality of the product, it's well worth the wait and worth supporting a growing small business.
Wait a while, wait indefinitely...
Almost 5 months since ordering a ring.. 31st of August
2024 up until the 24th of January 2025 to be delivered. Ring is definitely great/fantastic. However, beware the timeframe and lack of updates during this period were beyond anything I've experienced before, and definitely needs work.
