Great customer service
I spoke to an agent called Sofia who was extremely friendly and helpful.
Customer communication
Very helpful call with customer services regarding our travel insurance renewal. Had a few updates/changes to discuss and were all handled pleasantly and efficiently.
I had a query over the family policy…
I had a query over the family policy and it was answered quickly and clearly. I did try via the chatbot but the responsiveness wasn't great and the clarity of the response wasn't good enough for certainty.
Airline issued PIR as their official Damage Report. AXA disagree. I stuck.
My suitcase was broken, crack and dent during processing on my flight to Hong Kong. I report to airline desk. Cathay Pacific Airline staff immediate issued a Property Irregularity Report(PIR) - promise this as the only doc needed for insurance claim. Several staffs insisted - for Years, Cathay Pacific issue Only PIR for claiming travel insurance. Airline insisted PIR is the same as damage report on insurance claim - they never heard about incomplete doc ever occur. But, AXA insisted PIR and Damage report is 2 kind of difference report. Then refuse to even accessing my claim - repeatedly suggested I hand in incomplete doc.
Request for a non-existed doc which airline would not issue at all. Then decline accessing claim? I am so regret on the outdated practice. Actually regret to even be their customer. If I could be trapped by these tiny trap, how could I trust when big issue happen.

I've used coverforyou for travel…
I've used coverforyou for travel insurance quite a few times but have never had to contact them by phone before today. The call was answered immediately after i chose from the initial selections and spoke to a most helpful lady who answered my query clearly and professionally. All done and dusted in a couple of minutes, brilliant compared to most companies where you can phone them and be on hold for a long time and still not get your issue resolved at the end of it. I will keep using them for all my future travel plans
Very efficient and helpful customer…
Very efficient and helpful customer service
Charlie amended a mistake on the policy without any problems.
No issues waiting to speak a customer advisor and the problem solved straight away.
Communication and service excellent.

The customer advisor I spoke to on this occasion was Charlie, he was very helpful and updated my policy details for me without any problems
Only possible to call them when it's impossible for most people to do so
Opening hours that only freelancers or the unemployed can use.
Need to call after 5pm b/c you work flat-out every day? Or just b/c you don't want to discuss medical conditions in front of your entire office? Or b/c you have no signal at work? No chance!
And of course you can't reach them on the weekend and nor can you just get a quote online if you have, say, had medical tests that came back negative! The form demands pre-existing *conditions* but if you saw a doctor or were tested for something *that the test revealed you didn't have* you can't fill in a condition in the form as you don't have one. But the form also demands that you fill in a condition if you have been to a doctor for anything in the last 2-5 years! No option for going to a Dr but not actually having a condition!
It's a catch-22 from hell and - of course - you can't reach a human to clarify it as they only offer a phone line during office hours, when, if you have a busy job or work in an open plan office, you can't actually call them.
I have spent a week trying to spend hundreds of pounds on insurance with them. I give up!
(And quite relieved to TBH - can you imagine what a nightmare it would be to contact them when you need them to pay you if they make it this hard to pay *them*!)
Being generous in giving them 3 stars but frankly it might as well be 1.
Disappointed-expected better!
We bought a travel insurance policy for our trip to Oman, but then had to cancel the trip after the conflict started in the Middle East. All of our other suppliers refunded in full, either waiving cancellation fees or refunding 100% when there was no liability to refund anything! No such luck with CoverForYou, who have insisted on keeping 50% of our money for doing absolutely nothing because the policy was cancelled after the 14 day cooling off period. I expected better from this company as we have had to cancel due to circumstances beyond our control. I did not expect them to take advantage of the situation. We will use all of the other suppliers again when we are able to rebook, but will never use CoverForYou again. Hope it was worth it!

Avoid at all costs
I have no idea how this company scores higher than zero.
Firstly, beware that there is no telephone number to ask what you should actually do in an emergency. Only how to email a claim - which is no use if you are in a hospital knowing you have missed a flight.
Every step of the claim then had to be chased - AXA - who deal with the claims had all the details from the start - but paid in dribs and drabs - having to be chased for 3 missing parts of the claim. No apology for their omissions. One minute an agent is looking at it - the next apparently the system automatically rejects things - which is it?? Only emails that are unintelligible. No chance of an apology.

Left my wife stranded in Dubai with no support
Thanks Cover for You for leaving my wife stranded in Dubai. She was super pleased to hear that your small print states she is now in a war zone with no insurance to extend her hotel stays or fund alternative flights back home.
My wife has been frighted, huddled down in the hotel basement at times with missiles being intercepted overhead.
You website states “ We truly believe you will find a product that ensures that you feel safe and secure while abroad so you can focus on making memories”. Not quite the reality when it comes to doing the right thing by your customers.

Brilliant service
I fractured my fingers after falling over in Lanzarote. I called the helpline and they explained what I needed to do to get treatment and gave me hospital in area. I paid for treatment and on my return sent documents to Coverforyou. I called the following day to make sure they had been received. Jess took my call and she was amazing, stayed on the phone while I resent and completed my claim. Refund should come through in 5-10 days. Will definitely use this company again. Big thank you to Jess for all her help.
Nightmare claims process if Axa services your claim.
While CoverForYou have an excellent rating on Trustpilot, if you have to make a claim you may find your service provided by Axa Travel Insurance, (2.1 stars).
While I was seriously ill abroad, trying to deal with Axa's claim process was very difficult.
On the telephone, the Axa representative often blamed another department for delays which I obviously didn't care about.
Read Axa's reviews before taking up CoverForYou insurance.
Just to add that it's not possible to log in to the CoverForYou website directly. Access is via an annoying email link process. Should be changed.

Port cover but look at the policy wording!!
We missed two ports. The first due to a fellow passenger being ill so we couldn't make the port. The second was due to a world leader conference occurring at the port and so the port was closed.
They won't settle my claim as it says in the policy wording that they only accept weather conditions or timetable issues and no alternative port is offered.
I assumed missed ports covered missing ports scheduled but more fool me.
Check their policy wording thoroughly if buying.
Well, many thanks for your reply and I will certainly check policy wording in the future. I will not be using your company in the future or any companies you are underwritten by including AXA.

Do not expect back what you're out of pocket.
We had to stay an extra 4 nights in Geneva after losing my daughter's passport whilst skiing. I had to change our flight home, book 4 nights hotel and travel by train to/from the British Embassy in Bern from Geneva.
I submitted all my paperwork and receipts for all these extra expenses.
All I was reimbursed for was the Emergency Travel Document(ETD). This left us over £1000 out of pocket.
After speaking/emailing them requesting why I was not being reimbursed for any of the travel and hotel etc, they just repeated that all I was getting was the ETD paid.
Not impressed with the service and will not be renewing once it expires.
Absolutely shocking treatment by a company we should be relying on when we need them most.

I've used this company for years and had a brilliant time, until now. Whatever has been integrated with AXA simply doesn't function. My husband needed a doctor, their system wouldn't work and I was told it could take days to fix. I now need to speak to a doctor, and yet again, the system will not allow me to make a request. Absolutely awful.

Will not use ever again.
Agree with all the other reviews. Very bad experience and wish I had checked reviews in more detail before going with this provider.
Just another company that will happily take your money for a "valid policy" but refuses to pay anything when you actually put a claim in. All evidence provided, circumstances completely out of my hand and still they refuse to help. Ridiculous company, would not recommend.

Zero Stars
Avoid this company, they are awful.
My wife had a fall in Thailand and tore her ankle ligaments. After the initial online video consultation they were absolutely appalling and left us to completely fend for ourselves. We phoned them, e-mailed them and did online chats to request help in arranging hospital assistance, but go no help whatsoever. We had to arrange a hospital visit and subsequent treatment ourselves.
We are still in Thailand, but rest assured Cover for you will be hearing at lot more from us when we return to the UK.
