Countdown Victoria street Wanganui

Countdown Victoria street Wanganui, disappointed. When a 34 year old and 32 year old(Even with ID) get declined on purchasing a bottle of wine because we have a young teen with us.
Even after explaining it's our little sibling, no talk or consideration.
Just declined and walked away. Just sad countdown

Usually expect very high quality…

Usually expect very high quality service and product from my local woolworths but slight hic cup this time around with my roast chicken was burnt BLACK. This in turn meant very dry. With the cost of this item being excessive anyway I actually do expect a bit better quality.

Countdown unsafe mobility parking where…

Countdown unsafe mobility parking where my car got damaged and countdown not paying for my damage .
There answer is you park with your own responsibilities and any damages done during parking, countdown not responsible.
If parking was unsafe to park they should be responsible.
And saying get your car fix with your insurance.
Why do I need to claim under my car policy while countdown at fault.
Why I do I need to pay $400 excess while I’m not at fault.

Sociopathic teller

There's been an ongoing issue at Marton Countdown , there is an old lady in her 60's with glasses who routinely is heard talking at , and commenting at customers like they're naughty school children and she's the teacher, I tend to avoid her and only use her checkout as a last option, she started getting nasty to me at first after there would be errors using their pay wave, and start snapping at me whenever this happened ( their machine has an issue), I said it's a problem with the machine and could we try it again , this has happened several times...
She started to seem to taker quite a dislike to me as I'm not from this town originally I believe...

Next thing she decided to pick at me about was my milk bottles, I get 2 ltr bottles and have had the experience of bottles breaking , and also the top leaking ( not often) , and so to prevent them falling over and risking the top coming off in my car and staining my carpet I will place the bottles flat side down, so they don't fall over when the conveyor belt moves ... this nasty old woman told me she feels like throwing them in my face, when I put them on the side ... presumable because she has to make a little bit extra effort standing them up to scan them .. which she is being paid for ... and it's reprehensible that she feels entitled to state wishes of violence against customers who don't want their bottles to burst from rough handling...

So the finale straw was her friend of a similar age joined the staff, whom would often be talking with her friends and leave both tills un attended leaving the customers to wait ... I can't imagine how much theft would have gone up since , as beyond that are the exit doors with no one watching the exit or the tills ...

I needed to call out to see if anyone was there...

This has happened on multiple occasions , and when I saw her last time, she publicly declared that I'd thrown an item at a cashiers face ... in front of several customers, I said that has never happened and asked to see the camera footage , which I was "not allowed to"

and then their story changed that me placing my milk bottles on the side was "throwing them" and then the cashier took my bottle which I paid for a threw it at the counter so it bounced ... trying her best to humiliate me in public , probably due to the fact that she was caught mutable times not attending her work but gossiping with colleges and so this is her "revenge"
Then I spoke to the manger at the time who told me that if I were to place my ( 2 ltr ) milk bottles on the side of the conveyer belt in future I'd be trespassed .. she also said none of the others had made a compliant and neither had she which paints these 2 older women who have nothing better to do with their time than harass anyone under the age of 50.

Also I have witnessed the older one intimidating younger staff members , who don't want to get in "trouble" with school teacher granny they look intimidated when she is around

and as a happy end to my story I found a new venue to buy my milk , and the top leaked milk all over the car which then had to go to the cleaners and we still can't get the milk smell out...

Bought experience wine to marinate…

Bought experience wine to marinate Woolworths chuck steak for casserole. Always buy from new world. Nearest Woolworths 5 minutes away. Marinated meat overnight as instructed and spent 40 minutes preparing vegetables. Absolutely disgusting. Meat cooked on slow for 2 hours like leather. Threw whole meal out. Will only use this store like a dairy milk eggs and bread. It cost me $30 to make meal and worse was cooking it for our family and a friend who has terminal cancer. Never use this store. Am absolutely furious at the quality and all the money I spent in a one off occasion trusting butcher to provide decent meat. Absolutely furious and will never shop there again

Delivery Christchurch NZ

So had my groceries left at the bottom of the stairwell. I live in a second store flat. On a wide straight wooden staircase. So I had too make three trips just to bring my groceries up a flight of stairs. Also I've been told a few times, I'm the only delivery address that the delivery person delivers my groceries to a stairwell. I have anxiety and don't go out a lot. I've decided to go back to online shopping with countdown. As I tired New World and wasn't happy with them and Pak n Save don't delivery. This isn't the first time my groceries weren't delivered up stairs. The first time the groceries were delivered half way up the stairs. I might look into another grocery delivery and see how that goes.

Left me unable to eat properly and wash my clothes despite having my money

Where do I even begin?
Despite constant messages with Olive and an online person countdown has left me without four meals and some washing powder. Because I spent all my money on my groceries they said it will take 7 to 10 days for my money to be returned into my bank account. I’m unable to go in purchase more washing powder and food, it’s put me in a terrible predicament, and they do not seem to be listening and understanding at the predicament of the position they have put me in making a presumption that people have other money in the bank that they can just go and purchase something else well I’m not in that category so it’s put me in a terrible position. And then to top it off they said they would refund me $19.50 when they owe me $28.94 plus mince for nine dollars something that I never received. Problem solved I’ll never ever ever shop there again And I’ll be telling all my friends and family about this.

Helpful online service

I use countdown Gisborne, pick up and/or delivery service and find the helpfulness of staff outstanding. The 0800 service is just as good. Whoever answers the phone is always very pleasant to deal with.

I went to Countdown Station Street…

I went to Countdown Station Street selected a Coleslaw wet to the checkout - first one had a customer with more items than the checkout was meant to take so waiting time.
A gentleman let me in front of him in another checkout put my item on the belt then the male went into my bag and was going to charge me even though I did NOT get it at that shop and he was told that, he belled for a supervisor who took a couple of minutes to arrive while I showed him my account and that ir was PAID for.
He did not have the decency to apologise for his disbelief of me!
I do NOT shop at Countdown unless what I want is seriously discounted as Countdowns prices are higher than PaknSave and the service is lousy.
And as for the Loyalty Card and benefits - they are a joke let alone not honouring a credit given to people.
Where else are there RATS?

Old stock on shelves

I purchased 2 cans of Woolworths branded Creamed corn, they were both thick and gluggy inside, not fluid.
When I emptied them out they had rust at the bottom of the cans, there wasn't any use by date stamp on them.
I was very disappointed with this purchase and I had to bin them.

The current presenter

I have been a countdown fan for some 40 years and have seen the changing styles of the various presenters. They all had one thing in common, the important people on the program are the contestants and the guest ( and of course S and R ).The current incumbent’s style is to show how clever he thinks he is. His interviewing style is to talk more than the interviewee. Poor Tim Rice could hardly get a word in. I , and many of my friends, find him overbearing and condescending and I no longer enjoy the program.
A Q but U-less word for Susie. QANAT. My interest in Qanats, 60 odd years ago I came across a 1000+ year old Qanat while driving through the desert in Afghanistan.
