Can You Trust Them

OK, to be fair there are two separate issues here. Treatment and financial. My wife suffered a stroke back in February and was treated in the hospital in Playa de Carmen. Although we had travel insurance, the hospital wants money up front and they will pressure you each day for more money to provide/continue treatment. My travel insurance company eventually issued a guarantee of payment after we had already paid almost $40,000 up front. The problem is that the hospital told us and the insurance company that they would reimburse us once the insurance company paid the invoice in full. We are still trying to get our money back. The insurance company and we have contacted the hospital several times trying to find out the status of the reimbursement and have heard nothing back. I personally do not think our insurance company should not have paid the entire invoice, but that is a different matter altogether. Although the treatment itself was fine, how can you trust anything about a hospital when they make statements about something like our reimbursement and don't follow up?
