I am furious witAbsolutely Outrageous – This Is a SCAM!h cryptoindex.com
I am furious with cryptoindex.com. They have the audacity to send legal claims via email regarding the use of images that were 100% legally purchased from reputable stock photo platforms. Their threats and demands for payment are completely baseless and dishonest. This is nothing more than a shakedown attempt disguised as copyright enforcement.
This kind of behavior is not only unethical, it’s a clear scam tactic aimed at intimidating individuals and businesses into paying money they don’t owe. Stay far away from this site – they are not to be trusted. I will be reporting them to the relevant authorities and warning others about their shady practices.
Crime in one of the EU member states
I hope the police take action as soon as possible and send everyone involved to prison for golfing.
This Company is a Scam - Constant Harassment
This company is a scam. Turns out they are demanding money for copyright infringement for people who took their own pictures! Not just people who bought pics from stock photo sites. What is happening here is anyone can claim they own the copyright to a pic, (Wenn has claimed 1.5 million through Alamy which they clearly don't own) so Copytrack is not vetting these claims and making sure that people actually own the pics they are claiming they own. What a scammy way to make money, preying on people who are even taking their own pictures for their websites! Unbelievable. Just disgusting. Harassed me twice already and I gave them my lic, how many more times will they harass me? Don't even bother responding to them once, because then they will just keep harassing you. This company needs to be stopped. They aren't vetting the people claiming to own these photos, and then going around scaring the bejeepers out of everyone over fake claims to pics they don't have the right to go after you for.
Copytrack sent me a notice that I was…
Copytrack sent me a notice that I was using a photo unlawfully. It was a picture I paid for through a stock photo service. This is a company that just wants to scam people into paying when they are not in the wrong. As an IP owner myself this is infuriating. Contact the legal dept at your stock service and let them deal with these scammers.
Almost fell for it...
Same as other posts; I was contacted about an image on our website, which they allege has been online since Oct 24 - several months before the website went live. Having read these reviews, I will just ignore their threat, but cannot lie - it was upsetting and worrying!
SCAM
SCAM. They harassed a non-profit client of mine claiming they owned the copyright for a country's flag (no one owns the copyright of country flags). In fact they were in breach of the law of that country for trying to charge people for using an image of the flag. They should not be allowed to operate.
Scammers helping other scammers get paid
Copytrack is a German company that shakes down people for fees. Here’s how the scam works. A photographer takes photos and puts them up for sale on a stock footage site. We buy the photo / license it’s use for a legitimate project, like use on our website. The original photographer hires copytrack to enforce their copyrights and copytrack scours the internet with a reverse image search of the photographers images. When they find a match, both people who have stolen the image and the people who have paid to use the photo, completely legally, get a demand letter, saying they must pay an outrageous fee or be sued. They make no attempt to separate paying customers from their harassing emails. They offer an option to prove you legally licensed the image to avoid being sued but they make the process scary and daunting for less experience users who sometimes just pay the fee out of fear.
If you bought a stock image and get their harassing emails, don’t engage with them. Call your stock footage provider / agency immediately and their legal team will engage with CopyTrack. Copytrack does this so frequently that the attorneys are already doing this every day.

They are suing me for a photo I got legally via Shutterstock and have proof of.
Another one reporting a scam here
Another one reporting a scam here. We were sent an email that said that our blog contained a copywrite image and we needed to pay for the past 30 day and then pay for annual license.
The image was from our Canva media account and purchased through our paid account.
We replied to CopyTrack and copied Canva's support and legal team and advised CopyTrack that any further emails would be ignored and that further communications needed to go through our lawyers.
We have not heard back from them. They are fishing for the weak and those scared of getting sued. Some of their message:
If you do not have a valid license or any other valid justification:
Compensation / License - You now have the following 2 options:
Option 1: Purchase of a subsequent image license (includes past and future use for one year after purchase).
Option 2: Compensation (includes the previous use and requires the immediate deletion of the image).
Image license (valid for 1 year from date of purchase): 978.09 €
Compensation costs (past usage): 900.00 €
Payment is due by: June 24, 2025
Absolutely ridiculous company
Absolutely ridiculous company. Threatening us in the UK with image stuff where they state themselves that they have the rights to that image in the Federation of Germany...
What an absolute S*** show of a "company"
Copytrack border on being a scam
Copytrack border on being a scam operation. They opportunistically pursue people and pressure them into paying licence fees. Despite using a photograph legally, Copytrack continued sending aggressive emails, claiming their "clients" reputation had been damaged.
Ask Copytrack to provide evidence of their legal standing and client representation and they cannot answer. Ignore this company and don't be bullied!
Fake threats and wanting a huge amount…
Fake threats and wanting a huge amount of money lol. Just ignore these guys, they target everyone and are hoping to get a jackpot.
SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!
They are claiming copyright on MY OWN images on behalf of Wenn!
They threaten to sue me for illegal use of images that Wenn claim to own, from my own website
We took the photos ourselves of our own handmade products.
Clearly we own the copyright
I should be suing them but couldn't for financial reasons
I'm going to have to ignore their ever increasing demands but it's upsetting
Update
I found Wenn were claiming 9 of our images on Alamy
When I searched other images claimed by Wenn there were 1.5 million! on ALamy
The link with Alamy and Wenn is not unprecedented
Scammy company using dodgy scare tactics
As a web design company since 1998 we either take our own photos, create our own graphics or have full licences for all images we supply to our clients, yet we receive emails monthly from this scam organisation threatening us with legal action as the owner of the property requested them to do.
I have never replied to them or entered into any conversations with them as in many cases I am the owner of some of that property.
Do not talk or interact with these scammers as they will not leave you alone once they have their hooks in you.
Targeting our company with threatening…
Targeting our company with threatening emails , demanding payment for a photo that we own !!! Looking further into this, it seems that they are well known scammers who try this sort of bullying behaviour with many companies / individuals
What a terrible way to make a living 🙁
Beware of Copytrack! Join Us to Fight Back!
If you are a victim of Copytrack's coercive and exploitative conduct, please get in touch. Search for CopytrackVictims on linkedin. I just set the page up as I am unable to leave an email address here.
Our company, ABC Distribution, has been targeted by COPYTRACK GmbH in what we firmly believe is a coordinated and exploitative shake-down against legitimate image license holders.
Despite providing clear evidence that the image in question was legally sourced through Canva under a paid subscription, Copytrack relentlessly pursued us with coercive demands and threats.
This isn’t just our story, countless others have suffered similar harassment. We are actively pursuing legal and public action against Copytrack and want to encourage all victims of their practices to get in touch with us. By standing together, we can expose these questionable business tactics and protect rightful license holders everywhere.
If you’ve been contacted by Copytrack unjustly, don’t suffer in silence... contact us to join the growing effort to hold them accountable.
This is a total scam
This is a total scam. Just trying to scare people who have licenses for images. Should be shut down.
Digital extorsion scam attempt
Digital extorsion scam attempt. They wanted us to pay for images that their "client" doesn't have the rights to. If they contact you, report them to the following:
1) State Criminal Police Office (Landeskriminalamt – LKA) for Berlin
2) German Consumer Protection Agency (Verbraucherzentrale)
3) German Competition Authority (Bundeskartellamt)
You can easily Google the contact details for all of these. I'd recommend also reporting the founder to your local authorities. I'm doing all of these.
