Copytrack is a company that practices extortion.
Same situation as many others who posted here. Somehow Copytrack had my Google review moved to a latitude and longitude of 0. So I'm reposting here and a few other sites. Long live the truth!
Copytrack are lowlifes
Like many others, l am receiving threatening emails for payment for using an image that l haven’t even used! Both them and Concept-Production, the company they collude with are disgusting.🤮 and wrong. Clearly just money scammers!
Automated character assassination and accusations
This company relies on automated bots to crawl the internet for stock photos and sends out blanket emails that automatically assume you are a thief. They shift the entire burden of proof onto the user, forcing me to waste valuable time digging up legitimate purchase receipts for images I legally licensed. To make matters worse, this automated harassment is recurring; as soon as you resolve one claim, you receive another baseless email for a different image. The burden should be on Copytrack to prove that a license does not exist before they hurl accusations at legitimate web developers and businesses. Since I never asked to be targeted by their automated dragnet, they should be the ones compensating me for the time I am forced to spend resolving their careless mistakes.
False compensation claim request for use of an image
I received a compensation claim request from CopyTrack on behalf of their client Concept-Production, alleging ownership and copyright of an image. In reality, this image is freely available from WallpaperAccess.com – Logistics Wallpapers / Top Free Logistics Backgrounds.
I have already removed the image from my website and replaced it with a properly licensed Shutterstock photo. I am also preparing a counterclaim against both CopyTrack and Concept-Production for issuing false and misleading demands.
This practice is deceptive and exploitative. CopyTrack and Concept-Production should not be allowed to operate in this way, and I strongly caution others to avoid engaging with them.
Awful phishing threatening company
An awful, dishonest company. They emailed my small business, threatening me with fines if I did not pay money for an image. I checked and I had paid for it through an honest company. They would not go away, kept emailing, chaising and threatening me. I ended up sending them a screen shot of my image, they still emailed wanting more images, It almost seemed like they wanted my license to use the image them self somewhere. I'm sure there is a scam behind the scam. They are still emailing me, demanding money. Oh and the image they were calling about was royalty free on a website I pay for, so the actual image in question was free anyway. Be careful, do not pay them.
Scamming for payments by scaring people
Scamming for payments by scaring people, these guys pretend they're representing the owners of copyrighted images and insist on being paid licence fees plus fines for past use, unless proof of a valid licence is provided for an online image. The supposed ownership claims don't stack up. The experience of others suggests ignoring or blocking these scammers is appropriate and safe. If you don't want to do that, insist that they send you proof of ownership (they'll probably send something, it'll be fake). Then show them the licence you have which proves the ownership does not vest in whoever they said it did. Tell them everyone knows they are scammers, then block them.
Poorly Verified Copyright Allegations
Our organisation was contacted by Copytrack regarding alleged image misuse. On review, the claims were incorrect, as the image was properly licensed and supported by clear documentation.
The process felt poorly targeted and resulted in unnecessary time being spent addressing unfounded allegations.
It would be more appropriate for any such claims to be properly verified and evidenced before being raised with businesses.
They are clearly scammers and should not be allowed to act as they do.
THEY ARE INDIAN SCAMMER !
Just got email from this scammer.
THEY ARE INDIAN SCAMMER !!!!!!!
BLOCK AND IGNORE THEM.
DO NOT PAY THEM.
From their T&C
From their T&C, surly this is not legal
This also includes deleting indexing or caching by search engines (e.g., Google cache).
Harassment for several weeks.
Harassment for several weeks as they tried to extract a 'fine' for use of an image online. They could produce no legal documentation which was other than spurious in support of their unfounded claims.
Be very wary of this company - and any of their previous incarnations.
Copytrack Scammers. Ignore Them
Our organization was approached by Copytrack with allegations of unauthorized image use that were completely unfounded. Every image referenced was properly licensed, and we hold clear, verifiable documentation to prove lawful use. This kind of approach places unnecessary strain on organizations that have acted entirely within the rules. They are nothing but scammers and you should just ignore them.
Illegal Scam
Our nonprofit website was recently accused by Copytrack of using unauthorized images. This claim is incorrect. The images are licensed stock photos that we paid for legally, and we have documentation to prove it.
It is troubling when companies like Copytrack make aggressive claims against organizations that have followed the rules and obtained proper licenses. If this issue continues despite our proof of lawful use, we will pursue the matter with the New York State Office of the Attorney General so these types of practices can be investigated.
german extortionists
I will be one of many hundreds reporting those german bastards. As a subscription member of fotolia I downloaded copyright free pictures and used them on my website. Than those bastards started to ask paying 300 EUR+ / year for a licence and copyright violation. I asked to prove their client owns a right to the picture. I received some bullshit paper, so I asked them to put it to the court, if they want to. They are sending me a a mail every day. I will look for some official complain to german professional chamber. NEVER pay them ANYTHING !!!
Cyber harassment and bullying!
I am based in Canada and for the past 2 weeks, it has been a nightmare with this COPYTRACK! This is now turning to email bullying and harassment! I reported them to the Canadian, German and EU authorities! Please do the same in your country...
UPDATE: I recently received an email from the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry stating the following: "If you suspect a criminal offense, you can file a report with the police". The given weblink is internetwache-polizei-berlin.de. It is in German but you could use Google Translate.
Fraudulent Chancer of the worse kind
Received a claim for a image(selfie) taken on personal phone that was posted about themselves, for themselves on behalf of themselves.
Vague details with no verifiable contact of whom they represented in the claim.
Spammer trying to scare you. Fraudulent.
I made the mistake of responding to Copytrack, which claimed to have been commissioned by the owner of an image I purchased in 2019 from Adobe Stock. I sent Copytrack proof of this purchase. This company continues to spam me. If this continues, I will file a complaint with the French authorities.
Where is the zero stars option?
Where is the zero stars option?
I've been blogging for almost 20 years, and have received many scams asking for money for unauthorised images. Copy track seems to be the latest.
A good way to fend off these scammers is to simply reply with:
"Unless you can evidence:
1) That you have the power of attorney to represent the photographer, and provide a written record, and
2) Show proof of copyright that the photographer actually owns the photograph"
If they cannot provide any evidence, then you're more than tired to say the next email you received from them will be marked into your spam folder and leave it as that. It's a drain on your timing, energy, and honest people making a live sharing content, but doing it legitimately
Scam artists trying to use the try-on…
Scam artists trying to use the try-on method of putting out automated emails as chancers hoping they can scam someone out of money.
Scammers!!!
Scammers!!!
They sent me an email like everyone else here for a picture from 8 years ago, that was royalty free from 123rf site… that this clown “concept production” is the owner…
Well that's a lie, this concept production that everyone else is mentioning here (same tactics) is NOT the photographer and has nothing to do with my image.
They can go F themselves.
