Do not use this company

Do not use this company. They force you to place a large minimum order but the frozen food is delivered unfrozen by the time you get it so you cannot refreeze any meat. Their customer service is very unhelpful and unfriendly since they probably deal with many unhappy customers all the time.
Message to the management: Do the right thing and close down your business.

Avoid this company at all costs…

I ordered 4items from them for delivery on 23rd December 23. Delivery came but the
Christmas pudding was missing. I have emailed them but no reply. The contact page on their website comes up with an error. There is no phone number but I just found it elsewhere 01460279509. Haven't called them yet. I do not recommend them. They have no customer service. I don't know how they are still in business.

They are cruel to their animals force feeding

I’m so upset & disgusted by their treatment of animals & force feeding animals.

Unreliable

Placed a Christmas order for delivery on 23rd December. Some items were fine but others were either missing or substituted with something different. This was a real pain and I think they should have warned me in advance. I emailed them and got a fairly prompt apology promising that they’d ‘pop a refund in my account’. No sign of any money yet. I will pursue this but I definitely won’t order from them again.

Ordered 3 items from them for Christmas…

Ordered 3 items from them for Christmas 2023.
Organic smoked ham. organic sausages, Organic chicken. All items delivered on time.
Chicken was wonderful.
Ham was over brined incredibly salty and almost inedible, through most of it away.
Sausages when i opened the pack they smelt that they had gone off, this was a day before the best before. I did contact them via email, got a response, but they thought i was someone else. Replied to the email again no response. Emailed again no response.
Life's too short, will just scrub this company from my preferred suppliers

Christmas let-down

Ordered a ham and a duck. Duck arrived but no ham.
Rang and was told ham hadn’t been cooked and was not available. They claimed I had been contacted but I had no email or missed calls.No substitute was offered and the apology was half-hearted. Too close to Christmas to order anything else.

Avoid this company, they will let you down.

Excellent service and product.

Excellent service, good value and extremely good product. The meat I purchased was nitrate free as well as free range and organic. If you check the ingredients there are no added E numbers or other nasties in the finished product - sausages for example- and that is very rare even among free range meat.
I looked a long way to find meat as straightforward and well raised as this.

Hence - 5 stars !!

First order placed three items…

First order placed and three items missing. A fourth item I would assume was not in stock so they sent me a replacement. Not impressed.
Phoned up and was told by the person on the phone that I would get a refund, No acknowledgment via email of the missing items. Sent emails, contacted them via messages on site and still no refund. It’s now been a week.
Tried calling and no-one picking up. Pretty shocking service.

Avoid

Really not good.

They use DPD who can not be relied on. This is a problem with frozen food and I can't tell you how many times I've had to have another box sent out as the original box has arrived late. Equally the packaging is poor and if you don't pay the extra for before noon delivery chances are your food will arrive semi defrosted. This time around it was a huge issue as all my food was purchased yesterday for my husbands 50th birthday on Thursday. Didn't arrive today. Coombe farm representative is highly inexperienced and not willing to help. Offered a refund that "won't appear for 5 days" or the food arrive after my husbands birthday. No compensation, not dealt with with any sense of urgency. They know DPD are not the ideal courier but they're cheap and Coombe farm make a margin on your delivery costs. I've been using this company for years and put up with the delivery issues because the product was good. The fact is the product isn't what it was and the organic meat industry has grown.

I have spent thousands with them. I won't be ordering from them again.

We are very sorry you weren’t happy with our service on this occasion. We are a very small team, passionate about our product and as you’ll know when things have unfortunately gone wrong for you in the past, we have always done our best to resolve these and immediately send a replacement parcel.

We have carefully tried and tested our packaging to ensure that our customers receive their orders at the standard they expect; our current packaging has been designed to keep products frozen for up to 36 hours, and majority of the time this is the case. If for any reason this does not happen, we are very active in rectifying this for our customers.
We regularly review our courier options. DPD are definitely not the cheapest - we subsidise the delivery costs for our customers, but we have found that they are the most reliable out of the options available. However, that being said they do occasionally let us down due to circumstances outside of our control – which unfortunately happened in the incident you describe.

Our customer service advisor did their very best to resolve the situation; calling DPD for answers and liaising with our warehouse team to arrange a resend for the next possible day. As this would not have been in time for the date it was required, a full refund was agreed with yourself, which our advisor explained would be processed that day but to allow a 5 day period for it to show in your account - it typically does not take this long, however this is the time period we have to advise of from the bank. Our advisor issued the refund with immediate effect, evidence of this was acknowledged by yourself via email.

Very fatty but the smell and the taste was awful. I always buy organic beef and this was just not right. Made us all feel sick and went in the bin . Tried another lot and that was same. Wont be buying from here again

DRY MEAT

We bought a three bird roast for Christmas, costing us over £160. The meat was cooked, basted regularly and internal temperature monitored. Unfortunately the bird was dry This matter was raised straight away via email, but nobody got back to me.After a few calls I was offered a turkey crown if I spent £40 with them to which I declined. Shortly after £25 was deposited into my account, which I think is an insult

Amazing company and amazing quality…

Amazing company and amazing quality food. Such a great selection of goods too. I usually get bones for making broth from here and sometimes meat. I can't say how good the quality of the meat is compared to other places. The quality of the service is also top notch! I had an issue with the delivery drivers not delivering the food to my flat recently and they were very happy to discuss the issue with me and compensate me for my loss. Would definitely recommend and will be buying from them in the future.

Order delivered after extra hours work

Order Number - 221120470493 not delivered.

We emailed , we called , no one is reponding.

That is totally not good.

No wonder your Trust pilot reveiws are so bad. Can you sort this out please ?

Coombe farm makes false claims that they called .
They called after 3 days and after the 2 mails and few messages left on phone.

Third Update

Now it is delivered. All good .

Next time ,if there is an issue just attend the call ,reply to mail .That is straight forward . Just because you have sorted out the issue , inorder to challenge your team , for a good reason , 1* becoming 3* . Infact 2.5 *.

This is good for you too. The quality of product is notquestioned .We like your products for sure.

Have always found the quality excellent…

Have always found the quality excellent and customer service first class. It is expensive compared to non organic options but good value compared to like for like ie other fully organic high welfare suppliers...

Do not always believe what you read

I was very worried as after having placed my order I only then read the reviews. My daughter has a chronic illness that prevents her from eating solid foods and we have found it hard to source good quality bone broths. I am happy to say that she loved the chicken and vegetable ones. The beef was not that good for her, but she used it in cooking a meal for her husband. He also loved your chicken pies, said they were the best he has ever eaten. I am so glad that those reviews were wrong. Your products are of a high quality and we will be ordering from you again

Scammy email received stating save upto…

Scammy email received stating save upto 30%. When i checked the store, no meat sources were anything near 30% off.
However you could buy some old dried carrots for 30% off. What an absolute scam and one of the worst advertising scams in the playbook that companies use for clickbait.
An utter disgrace.

Not impressed with this company

Not impressed with this company. Order was meant to arrive yesterday around 4/5 pm. Nothing. Have been unable to contact them as they don’t open weekends. Only farm I’ve ever heard of closing weekends.

I paid for some meat and fish from here…

I paid for some meat and fish from here a few years ago, there was blood stains On the packaging. I'm sure that is unhygienic.
The meat from here tasted as if it was beaten & in poor health due to staff, even my pets would not eat it. I was wondering why my pet never ate the chicken breast but then after looking closer it had blue spots all over it very tiny, probably mould. It looked bruised,
I claimed back my refund after finding out how truly unethical this farm really is, it is misleading, the manager didn't hesitate to give back my refund because that little man knows under the consumer rights act 2015 a customer is entitled to refund or charge back if finds the item is misleading which is it, the website stated it was ethical and kind to its animals but I was shocked to find the truth,
It's been scientifically proven that animals that are victims of torture their meat becomes less quality and unhealthy.
I spoke to the man's and told him what I saw on the news he sounded guilty, he claimed to not know what happened but he did, I was told he encourages fox hunting and pays hunters, let's baby cows get beaten. And much more too horrific to post on here..

Is this a place we really want to support? There are better out there. I'm glad this place got exposed but should get closed down.they don't deserve animals and rspca should force them shut. Just because lockdown happened doesn't mean I will forget.
I will pray to god that this horror farm gets shut down

We rear our own organic beef, lamb and pork and work with a small number of other trusted organic farmers to produce a wider range including organic chicken and venison. We only work with producers that we have visited ourselves to ensure we are confident in their commitment to producing to organic standards. Our poultry is not RSPCA assured but it is certified organic which goes above and beyond - with some of the most stringent standards in the world of food and farming. I’ll be very open and honest with you now regarding the footage you have seen from August 2018.

In July 2018, the anti-animal farming group, Animal Equality, broke into and set up hidden cameras at two farms at Coombe Farm. They presented the footage captured in a manner that suggested Coombe Farm was responsible for Animal Cruelty. Points raised in footage and accompanying newspaper articles:

• Shackles - Which are used on farm to prevent cattle that have suffered pelvic damage from injuring themselves further. Considered best practice by Veterinary experts.
• Force Feeding - Which was in fact the administering of Colostrum via tube following an on farm issue we had with calf mortality. This issue has been resolved, but the procedure of tube feeding calves that are unable to take milk from mother’s naturally may still be carried out for the welfare of the animal.

• Moving Calf by hind legs - this has been accepted as best practice by soil association and our farm vet.

• Conditions for calves - Animal Equality were particularly manipulative of the photographs they took. They were not representative of the actual living conditions of our young animals at Coombe Farm.

Following the incident, we acknowledge that a member of staff was handling our animals without the compassion that we would expect. That individual was removed from Coombe Farm following the footage being shared with ourselves.

We welcomed unannounced audits from all of whom certify our farm. We were audited three times by the Soil Association, once by Red Tractor, once by trading standards and twice by RSPCA. Soil Association praised our high standards, the condition of all animals and our willingness to accept critical feedback and implement some small changes.

As a result we retrained all of our staff in handling animals when administering colostrum and we installed CCTV in all Barns. All audits were considered successful. Our organic status has been upheld. Waitrose quickly reinstated our produce to their organic milk pool. We pride ourselves on the provenance, welfare and quality of all produce from Coombe Farm.

Whilst very difficult to manage, and incredibly traumatic for the staff who care so much about their work here at Coombe Farm, this experience has been valuable in terms or reinforcing our standards.

Pre Covid-19, we were welcoming anyone to visit us at anytime. Unfortunately we have had to close up a little during the pandemic, but our intention is to remain an open farm.
