Been going to Consol in Farnborough for…

Been going to Consol in Farnborough for a while now (used to go to the Camberley branch too) and honestly I love the place. The staff are friendly, the beds and equipment are modern and clearly well maintained, and I’ve always had really good results there. It’s definitely a bit on the expensive side compared to some places, but you can see where the money goes in terms of cleanliness and up-to-date equipment.

Only thing I’d say that concerns me slightly is the attitude towards me using a light layer on my belly and shoulders of SPF 15. Every time I mention using it, the girls seem really against it or surprised that I use it at all, which feels a bit odd nowadays. SPF is obviously the healthier option for skin protection while still tanning, after lots of research myself, you’re looking at about a 10% reduction in tanning per session, whilst having a massive jump in skin care, so I’d expect more encouragement around skin care rather than discouraging it. Apart from that though, really good experience overall

Unmanned after a certain time results in poor hygiene !
Emailed to advise I spent nearly 5 minutes cleaning the bed to be given 2 minutes added to my account. No remorse just advised to use the bed in manned hours!! Shocking. Been a customer for over 10 years! 2 mins added! What a great experience NOT !?

Identity theft?

They wanted my name, address, date of birth, phone number, email address, photo of me, video of me, wanted to put an app on my phone using their in house Wi-Fi, and also wanted my driving license. All just have a sunbed.

This all screams of identity theft. Very weird experience.

Big shout out to Liz at the Sidwell street branch on Exeter. She always greets me with a smile and a chat helping navigate the check in pricing offering advice. The salon is always spotless and do well run. I occasionally use another salon closer to home which is the complete opposite. Always 2 staff in there who don’t look up from their phones when you arrive, offer no welcome or help. Liz is simply the best.

Great sunbeds absolutely love them, i’ve been using them for around 3 weeks now, but one thing i noticed is the staff are very nice and polite don’t get me wrong but when it comes to scanning my log in, choosing bed, minutes etc.. the staff hoover over you and watch you, i feel they are in my bubble, it’s nice to say hello etc… but when it comes to the log in and the staff can clearly see what i’m doing id rather have some peace and do my thing as it makes me feel little and stupid :)

Heaven on earth!

I've used my fair share of sunbeds, but Consol has smashed it out the park.
The sunbeds are often a choice of newer or older beds, to your own preference, all equipped with efficient technology. I must admit I spend a silly amount of money across several stores! I've used them for over 7 months consistently, and enjoy the prospect of the membership levels.
At one of my local stores, Stratford-upon-Avon, there is the option to spend £10 and get £20 in credit which is great value for money and certainly what keeps me going regularly. The facilities are always spotless and the staff are always extremely friendly!

I heard about Consol on tik tok!

I heard about Consol on tik tok!! So I decided to go and try it out, I was warmly welcomed by Liz from Sidwell street and she helped me feel comfortable and confident as it was my first time trying out sunbeds. We had minor difficulties with the app not working as we had hoped but she sorted it all out for me! Very easy and enjoyable experience, thanks soso much :)

Today at 10am

Today at 10am, my friend was given a tanning bed with 16 bulbs not working. Whilst saying something to the person they were at the shop with- a horrible employee with a disgusting attitude was very confrontational and came out of a room having a go at her about her complaint. Needs to get her attitude in check, acting like she has the hardest job in the world.

Disgusting service, don’t bother.

Lies. Lack of care towards customers and Hard Sell.


I topped up credit at this new salon in Kidderminster. My first visit was fine as I attended when it was unmanned. Self check in at the kiosk, easy, great. Clean and tidy.
Subsequent visits when the studio was manned. Completely different experiences. 1. Manager. Hard sell at the kiosk. More minutes, creams etc. Very off putting. I left without using the facilities it was that bad.
Complaint on email to help desk. Assured Kidderminster would be advised that when help rejected at the kiosk, respect that, not everyone wants to be harassed.
Next visit, exactly the same as previously except different staff. Explained to staff member that I didn't want any help. She reacted aggressively saying that I was stopping her from doing her job. I defended myself with no, just don't want to be harassed with sales techniques thanks. Two of five customers who were her friends, queuing, got involved, being aggressive, intimidating and coming to her "defense". She encouraged this.
I complained again to the help desk right there and then and was told that it shouldn't happen and that the role of the staff is to offer help but if this declined then keep a respectful distance. No sunbed session again for me: waste of time, parking and left feeling upset. Again.
Next visit, the manager again. I declined help. Was told she has to help. Aggressive attitude again. Advised her of my conversations with helpdesk. Told her I was recording the conversation. She stepped back and I booked in. Next thing, I receive an email saying my account is suspended due to my inappropriate and aggressive behaviours towards staff. Absolute lies.
Just astonished that this has happened.
Consol refuse to refund my £34 of credits and are denying me access to use them.
They say they have checked cctv and spoken to staff and decide my behaviour is inappropriate.
Pure lies.
I did nothing at all but defend myself which consisted of declining help then explaining the situation.
Cctv at the salons is video only. Interesting how they decide I'm in the wrong when they can't hear what anyone is saying.
I have audio footage of my exchange and photos of the customers who verbally abused me.

Went to Worcester salon Tuesday 12th Aug.
OMG, you could have performed a surgery in there it was so clean.
Tayla takes so much pride in her role, she's a credit to Consol.

Faulty sunbeds and The staff isn’t very friendly.

I paid for 16 minutes and only stayed for 5 because the sunbed was faulty and burned my hands and feets in first 5 minutes
Incidentally, many sunbeds are cracked and broken, I don't understand why they don't fix them, and the staff there is not friendly, even after 4 days I didn't get my money back!
I don't recommend it!
