Avoid Condor Airlines unless you can afford to lose your money
(This is a pre-trip review, date is approximate.) We booked a round-trip through our travel agent from the US to Europe on Condor Airlines, paying for business class for health reasons. (Our travel agent recommended them for the price and appearance, though she had no experience with them, thinking they were affiliated with Lufthansa. She knows not to do that again.) Sadly, health deteriorated, forcing us to cancel the trip. When the trip was booked, their policy was to re-book within 12 months for the full amount like every other airline. Note: NO REFUND. However, between the time of booking and the health crisis, their policy changed, with no prior notice, to no REBOOKING AFTER THE DATE OF TRAVEL. The health crisis didn't allow us to know when we'd be able to travel in the future. They keep the money. If travel insurance doesn't come through, we're out many thousands of dollars through no fault of our own. Stay away!
I absolutely loved flying with Condor
I absolutely loved flying with Condor! The striped plane is so quirky and unique, it really stands out and makes the start of the trip feel special. The crew was incredibly polite and attentive throughout the flight, and the food was surprisingly good. Most importantly, I felt safe and well looked after the whole time. Highly recommend!
Nightmare
Booking this flight was an absolute nightmare. I tried using their website and despite having a clear itinerary from Portland to Munich, the seat selection sequence kept sending me to JFK (NYC). The customer service people could not explain why after I sent them screenshots and reported there was some glitch. Then when I finally got the flights fixed and premium economy, and my credit card cleared for an international purchase, the payment went through but I received no confirmation or booking. The webisite said there was an error because a partner airline could not verify seat availability. When I called customer service - the third time - they said call Alaska airlines to see if there is seat availability on a feeder flight (five months in advance of flight). Then they said, "Maybe you could take a train from Frankfurt to Munich instead of flying the final leg on the partner airline. Total waste of several hours of my time and very frustrating. I just booked through United and got less desirable economy plus.
Scam
Should have come here before booking. Chose a non-direct flight with Condor instead of a direct one with Easyjet because it was cheaper. But in the end, they make you pay for the seat later. Such a scam.

My flight was delayed for 48 HOURS and they have ghosted me for over a month. No refund for rebooking, no reimbursement for hotel/food, and ignoring the €600 compensation owed under EU 261/2004.
Customer service just told me to "be patient" while they hold my money hostage. Total scam operation.
I am now filing formal complaints with LBA and ENAC.

I just tried to book a journey. It was a return journey with connecting flights by another airline. Condor took the money from my account, but failed to provide the tickets. Upon contacting their helpdesk, I was told it was due to one of the connecting flights not being available. Now I am stuck waiting for Condor to return my money and it feels like they have absolutely no sense of urgency. Basic message is, "you will get your money when we feel like returning it".
I cannot say this loudly enough...

Does anyone else have experience with Condor avoiding its responsibility? You no longer have any guarantee that your luggage will arrive on time, even in Business Class. You’d better check for yourself at check-in if they actually attached the PRIORITY tag – they forgot to do it in my case and my suitcase arrived only on the 3rd day. They left me in a tropical destination with only winter clothes! Now they are just ignoring me: they confirmed on chat that they received all the documents for my case from January, but they don't respond to my follow-up emails regarding the reimbursement anymore!
READ REVIEWS OF CONDOR AND MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION
I took advantage of a global sale on Alaska Airlines, so I booked a R/T to Prague on Condor Airlines (they're part of the One World Alliance). I then was directed to Condor to select seats. Condor's website is unclear and difficult to navigate but I finally was able to book seats/overhead bin space. I had to change my return flight and discovered Condor's website did not reflect the flight change, so I couldn't book seats/bin space on my new return flight without customer service. The US customer service number is nowhere to be found. I eventually found help, and while surly, she was able to refund my original costs so I could re-book with the new return flight. The whole experience was so bad, I looked up reviews and saw that Condor has a solid 2.3/5 stars across the board. After reading horror stories, I decided to cancel the trip. Alaska was easy. But Condor? Nope. I never received a refund for my seats/bin space. When I called customer service, Condor said it had NO record of the $180 it had charged me for seats/bin space (although they could see the canceled reservation). She directed me to an online form that didn't work and took me over an hour to complete, so she also gave me an email address to use. I had to provide screenshots of my bank account, receipts, and a long, detailed explanation. After spending HOURS on phone calls, refund forms, and emails, I still have received only a partial refund even though the emails I receive say they will respond as soon as possible. READ CONDOR'S REVIEWS and know that it's a crap shoot - your experience may turn out fine or it may be a nightmare.

We booked an upgrade for our son as a surprise on his long flight. Booked the last seat available in premium on a windowseat with just one seat next to him. Paid over 200 euro for that.
When he boarded, just as he went to board, they changed his seat to a middle seat, right in the middle of the middle section. We would never have paid for that seat obviously for a tall person.
We wrote a complain and they refused to reimburse since 'it was still in premium'.
Our son is tall so we would never pay over 200 euro for a seat where he would sit in beteen 4 other chairs.

Headed to Madrid, I checked in super early. I had no idea the gate was SO FAR AWAY, IT TOOK 2 BUSSES.
I WAS ON MY WAY. I CALLED THE GATE. THEY KNEW I WAS COMING.
MY RESERVED PREMIUM ECONOMY SEAT WAS GIVEN TO A MAN WHO ANSWERED TO MY NAME! I'M A WOMAN! THE GATE ATTENDANT DIDNT BOTHER CHECKING HIS BOARDING PASS. Worst of all, I got to the gate and the plane was still at the gate and there were still seats! BUT THE PILOT REFUSED TO LET ME BOARD! CONDOR COMPLETELY SCREWED ME OVER. And refused to help! The ground crew literally ran away as I asked for help, they didn't want to look bad because they were at fault for letting the man board. NO HELP AT ALL. Condor is running a "weight trap" at Hurghada. Unlike most airlines, they weigh your personal backpack at the gate and enforce an 8kg total limit for both carry-on and personal items combined.
I was flagged at 12.6kg for my workstation and camera gear - items that literally cannot be checked- and was hit with a massive, non-negotiable fee. To make it worse, they refused to split the payment between card and cash, forcing me to use a faulty airport ATM that ate my debit card while my flight was already delayed.
If you’re a professional carrying tech or gear, avoid Condor. Their "Economy" pricing is a front for aggressive upselling and zero operational flexibility. Total nightmare.

Don't you ever choose Condor! I booked my flight 4 months before, Condor changed time flight. I had another flight before so I would lose Condor flight. I was forced to pay any quite expensive ticket with another airline and after many negotiations Condor assistant told me that a half refund of my ticket can be offered to me.

It's just beyond ridiculous. Condor is the only airline I've ever encountered that charges change fees for upgrades. Upgrade to business costs 450 euro and they also charge 150 euro for changing the ticket. Never seen before. Upgraded with Qatar, Thai, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa. Never ever was i charged change fees.

Made a typo mistake on my buddy's name and had to call customer service for a rebook. The agent who assisted me, David, was extremely quick, polite, and efficient at carrying this task out. Kept the same flight as our other friend and myself. Very delightful communicating skills and quick problem solving on his end.
