Long-time coming to write this
Long-time coming to write this, I just didn't know where to go.
I worked for the Woodburn Outlet store from 2015-2020. I was the group hired after the manager and everyone but 3 people walked out.
My manager Krysti was amazing. She had already turned 2 other stores around from the brink of death, hence why she was brought in for this store.
She gave 6mo notice for hip surgery (she was very open with us, so we knew how much notice she gave) and corporate said 2wks from her leaving that they had no idea.
They sent us someone from a corner store at Portland Airport. This woman had no idea how to run a store of our volume. Myself and 3 others put in complaints about this woman every day for the 3mo she was there.
When Krysti was finally allowed back, corporate visited every day for a week. One day, her boss held the daily meeting before we opened to tell us she was permanently leaving. I found out later that every complaint we put in for the sub was put against Krysti.
I lasted another yr cause it was hard finding work.
Their clothing is top of the line, but corporate is shady. Probably everywhere, but this was my personal experience (the date I put is the furthest it would let me)
Incredible customer service
Bought an all season jacked on sale about 2008, cost around $200. The zipper broke around 2018. I emailed them asking if I could buy a replacement zipper. Company wrote back that there was 2 options. 1 buy a zipper locally they would pay $35 towards the cost. 2. ship the jacket back and they would repair it if they could..
I shipped the jacket back. The company informed me that the jacket could not be repaired. I could use the enclosed code to buy a new jacket and get $250 dollars discount.
The quality of their products are very good. If that was their typical customer service, there is no reason not do to be a repeat customer. Company policiy may have change since I returned the jacket. Trustpilot did not allow me to back date to the actual time this happened.
50% of the products I buy from them…
50% of the products I buy from them have had to be returned for warranty repairs. They do stand by their products and offer credits - they've never actually "repaired" any of my items. One was a $300 jacket where the zipper-pull came off - seems like a simple thing to fix, but they gave me a credit, instead. The last and final purchase was a pair of hiking shoes. The eyelets popped off while lacing them up for only the second wearing. Their products are just poorly built. You're better off spending a little more money on a better brand. I've never had any problems with their other brands like Prana and Mountain Hardwear... I don't know why their Columbia products are crap.
Poor customer service
Very poor customer service regarding my stock enquiry- very unhelpful and obviously just couldn't be bothered to help. I will avoid buying anything from this company.
I have always been more than pleased…
I have always been more than pleased with the quality of your clothes.
Unfortunately, not so much with the navy fleece I ordered. The fleece was thin and the sleeves were long enough for an orangutan. Fortunately, I am a sewer, so will fix that problem. XL is usually a bit large, which I like, but this time a bit snug for my taste! No I have not gained weight. Anyway, you might want to check this out.
Thank you for all of my previous purchases, which were great.
Would not recommend
I purchased th Peakfreak Roam™ Waterproof Walking Shoes in early March, and after only about four weeks of use, I’m extremely disappointed.
At first, I was impressed. The shoes were comfortable, fit perfectly, and kept my feet completely dry.
However, that initial satisfaction didn’t last. After just a few weeks of normal use, they have clearly lost their waterproofing — my socks are now getting wet on walks. For a product advertised as waterproof, this is completely unacceptable, especially given how recently they were purchased.
I would not expect such a key feature to fail so quickly, which leads me to believe there may be a manufacturing defect. It’s a real shame, but without reliable waterproofing, the shoes are no longer fit for purpose. After contacting customer service I was told to purchase some waterproof spray. I pointed out that I should not have to do this after forking out so much a few weeks but I did not receive a satisfactory response.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Don't Give Them Your Email Address.
The jacket I ordered is fine and it was delivered on time. However, to get free shipping I gave them an email. The "unsubscribe" button is useless and I have "chatted" with two agents, each of which assured me they had taken my email out of their system. I'm still getting email and it seems like it will never stop.
The bootscolumbia.com site is a scam!
The bootscolumbia.com site is a scam!
They don't send the packages and you won't get you money back. It's almost not possible to get in contact with them. Don't buy there please!
I ordered something mid December 2025, I'm still fighting to see a package arrive or get my money back.
I ordered from the UK
I ordered from the UK, a set of "Mens Transverse Hike" Hiking boots, purchased via their amazon store. They had to be shipped from the USA but tracking was provided, I have been walking 3 to 4 miles a night in them for the last fortnight and they are like walking on clouds, just so incredibly comfy. Sure my feet get tired from the walk, I'm pushing 50 :) but they are deeply comfortable, not painful, no twinges, tweaks, sprains, nada. They are incredibly lightweight and extremely waterproof. It is a shame this company has such a low trust pilot rating as it would appear they do make some excellent products and I for one will continue to buy this footwear if I get a year out of them. I walk most days and I have size 11.5 feet so they will get a beating, if they survive the year, Columbia will have gained a customer buying these boots for the next 20 to 40 years. They are easily as comfortable as my Sketchers summer mesh trainers and those things are COMFY as hell. :) Being light weight, if they are breathable these may also be fine for summer, time will tell.
Refund still pending after a month of them receiving my item back
No problems receiving my order, however I have returned the item - I shipped it within the timeframe but I haven't received my refund yet, even though it's confirmed that they have received the package on the 24th Feb and it's now 31st March.
It's now the 22nd April and there is still no refund, no communication, no nothing from Columbia.
Refund
Can't complain about the quality of shoes but god help you if you want a refund, 4weeks so far and still waiting. for a company as big as Columbia, very poor!
Columbia do not follow UK law and do…
Columbia do not follow UK law and do not provide returns within 14 days of receiving a returned item. Completely unacceptable for such a large brand.
Awful customer service
Awful customer service, don’t bother buying from them.
I ordered 4 items, and UPS didn’t even attempt delivery, despite me working from home. They simply marked it as “unable to deliver.” I then had to call customer service to redirect the parcel to a nearby pickup location.
When I finally collected it, 2 items were missing.
I contacted customer service and was told the items had been sent, and that I needed to complete a form to confirm I hadn’t received them. I did this and then heard nothing back.
As if that wasn’t frustrating enough, I returned the 2 items I did receive because I was so disappointed. However, I was only refunded for one item, even though both were sent back in the same parcel.
I called customer service again and was told they needed to “investigate” with the warehouse. It’s now been over a month, and I still haven’t received my full refund.
Overall, a terrible experience. If anything goes wrong with your order, don’t expect any real support or resolution.
i have no chance to put Zero star this…
i have no chance to put Zero star this company is worst ever and also their partner ontrac shipping company do not ever place order they wont help you if your package was stolen or get lost i dont so if you get your money back .. bye columbia sportswear worst customer service ever.
Unreputable company and useless warranty
In my Goggle search I discovered Zipper durability is a recurring point of criticism in several men's and women's styles. So, I filed a warranty claim and I paid for the shipping costs to send my coat back to them to fix the defective zipper on my Parka under their warranty. They sent the coat back to me after 6 weeks and they lied and said the coat could not be repaired. This is a total lie because Zippers can be easily replaced on any coat. Do not buy from this lying unreputable company. You think they would have replaced the zipper on my coat, especially due to all of the negative reviews highlighting their many, many zipper failures.
Horrible experience shopping with this…
Horrible experience shopping with this company, ordered a backpack and received dirty used clothes instead. Contacted customer support and they wanted me to buy the same product again before they can refund me, what a joke.
Poor service, different size received
I ordered two pairs of ladies cropped hiking trousers, UK size 12 and 14. I received size 8 and 10. Ordered nearly two weeks ago, returned immediately when received and still waiting for refund. Very poor service.
Do not buy online
I WILL REPEAT 10000% TIMES. DO NOT buy anything online. They will use On Trak to deliver your items which never arrive. They use a company that steals your items and it takes weeeeeks for a refund. Don't believe me? Go look at On Trak reviews. The customer service is awful as well.
Illegal Business Pracrices - filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission
Had a one time purchase experience with Columbia Sportswear online. Had no previous Columbia products - jacket was nice but shortly afterwards , this company was BLOWING up my business inbox - tried to UNSUBSCRIBE 10 times to no avail. Spoke with a CSR who was weak with skills and never got back to me after claiming he would “check into it,” and “speak with his support team.” Like What -t-t? All for a system request to simply unsubscribe ? Nothing changed; learned that Columbia Sports opened up a “marketing account “ without my permission , threw my purchase info into an account and blew up my inbox with unrelenting , annoying marketing emails no matter how I tried to unsubscribe . I filed a FORMAL complaint with the Federal Trade Commission after learning this is Illegal !! Also filed a complaint with my states Attorney General about this company’s business and marketing practices . It’s pathetic ! Do not do business with COLUMBIA! We all can find other companies to spend our hard earned money with !!’
Using purulator
Tired of Purolator. It’s a shame so many stores still use this service. Not a single one of my packages has ever been properly delivered, they don’t bother trying to access the building, ring once just to pretend they tried, and leave a notice. This time was no different. I ordered from Columbia and wasn’t given the option to choose a different carrier. To make matters worse, the pickup location they use is a run-down corner store in a sketchy area near a shelter. Absolutely unacceptable experience from start to finish.
