This is my second time using Collection Pot and I'm very happy with both experiences. It's easy to set up and share, and I enjoy being able to add GIFs to messages. I would have given it 5 stars, but... See more

The percentage you charge on the top of each contribution is just too high, over 25%!
No, I didn't mean the tip. I meant the message that pops up when someone enters the amount, ex: £5 "if you want ...(name of pot) to receive the whole £5, add £1.25 (or more I don't remember exactly) and then the contributor pays £6.25 but the pot owner only gets the £5!

Not only do they take a percentage of your collections but when checking out be very careful as they add on a stupid tip that I didn't want!!! Thought I had unchecked it as it said it was transferring my full amount only to find a reduced amount in my bank account.
Will not be using again.

Complete scam, adding in a huge suggested charge on contribution, then taking c. 2.5% out if you decide not to add a 'contribution'. Despicable.

Very easy to follow & use, to save group funds it can be added to without any problems. Expiry dates can be altered easily and added to

It is user friendly, easy to share with people and collect the pot.

Useful site, but wish it didn't automatically deduct fees from contributions. Leave it until the collection is complete and then request the fee from the organiser.

It might be easy to set up but 20% added "to cover our costs" is downright greedy. I gave £10 to a colleague's birthday fund and £2 was suggested on top so that my colleague got the whole tenner. Really?
Edit.
The explanation given below in no way mitigates for the way the pot acts. The fact that it throws up a 20% donation, call it what you will, is still mot acceptable. By all means cover your costs and add 20p profit as the suggestion but not £2 on a tenner. How many people end up giving funds they can Ill afford just because they're trying to get another job done in between a load of other things in their day.

Collection pot is so easy practical and easy to use for when a team member is leaving or a special occasion.

Was easy to use and easy to withdraw the money etc when the pot was ended
Just have to make sure the pot has ended or change the end date if you need to withdraw from it
Used it for fundraising for a memorial bench

Awful!
I received a collection pot recently and had trouble accessing it from the start:
Firstly, my email address was blocked (even though I've never used this company before) and then I had the hardest time trying to transfer my pot to my account as there is no 'clear' method of doing this. Even the support team didn't bother explaining the process in the handful of emails I had to send, but thoughtlessly regurgitated their initial response.
Also;
I understand this is a business, but the rates for donating are still high; even the recipient doesn't get off lightly, being expected to 'tip' (which I respectfully declined) when transferring the balance.
In all, a very poor experience. Not only because of the site but support as well.

Their donation fees (for people who donate) are meant to be 1.9% plus 20p. Through some bug, mine was 18% (I gifted £20, transaction costs £3.6 on top of that). I contacted customer service who initially were very helpful. They offered to refund or add the extra to the donation. The refund dragged on, but when it went through, I went to pay again. Same issue. This time customer service were quiet. I paid again.
It's not a large amount, but it's annoying and it wasted time. I have no reason to believe that the company cares about the quality of their service because, at the end of the day, people would not want to raise a fuss over important events over what is essentially the cost of a coffee.
But I wouldn't use them. I don't think they take pride in providing a good service
EDIT: Following the reply from the company 21 Jan 26, there is a toggle, but it implied that what I would not pay would be taken from the initial donation amount, which is esentially the same thing (i.e. the company gets more money, above the transaction costs initially advertised, and the recepient of the donation gets fewer money). I can see the chat eventually received an answer, though I can't see a time and I have two "Your contribution has been received emails", but nothing in my inbox and spam outside of that. If the extra was added to the pot, I can't see that, but that may be because I need to be more familiar with the website. Overall, not a straightforward experience. Thank you for replying, however I would recommend looking for another platform.

I've been unable to access the pot (over £1k wedding gift) as my account still isn't verified. Have tried 3 times (first time over 3 weeks ago), get no feedback, can never speak to a human via online chat - no-one responds and emails just get bounced back. Feels like a scam :-(

It has taken days to verify my account in order to get the cash I collected. I have had to use my own money to buy colleagues' gifts while I wait for them to respond. I have been repeatedly told someone would contact me within 24 hours but they have not.

Unacceptable service and potential misappropriation of funds
I was the recipient of a collection pot provided as a leaving gift from my workplace. Despite multiple attempts, I am unable to log into my account to access the funds. I have contacted customer support repeatedly via email and live chat over the course of more than a week and have received no response whatsoever.
The individual who created the pot has also contacted the company separately. At present, the company is retaining €185 of gifted funds, which were contributed in good faith by my colleagues.
Given the lack of communication, failure to provide access to the funds, and absence of any reasonable support, this raises serious concerns regarding consumer rights and the handling of customer money. Especially shortly after the Christmas period, withholding gifted funds is both distressing and unacceptable.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will be advising contributors to pursue chargebacks and report the issue to their payment providers and relevant consumer protection bodies.
I would strongly caution others against using this service until these issues are adequately addressed.

I had been a contributor to a CollectionPot before and knowing I wanted to do a collection for 3 people with joint messaging I thought it would be a good idea to use. I researched whether I could split the pot before using and it confirmed I could.
The card element and messages are great, but it didn't work as I had intended. I think because I included a card, there was no way to split it of share with more than 1 person, this was confirmed when I questioned it with the support team - again, different to the FAQ section. As said I think its because I used the card feature.
I do think its a good idea. The other negative is that there is always a charge if you contribute, it is small but taken out if you don't add a contribution - this isn't clear in advance and it should be.
