This is my second time using Collection Pot and I'm very happy with both experiences. It's easy to set up and share, and I enjoy being able to add GIFs to messages. I would have given it 5 stars, but... See more

People in our dept raised £100 to get a gift for our cleaner who is leaving - we used £75 to order a gift hamper from the site (£5 has to be used for a card because otherwise you have no access to the messages people added with their donation - and you have to pay £2 extra if you want an envelope with it, it's not even a nice card...) and we put the other £20 on a gift voucher. However, the hamper never showed up - and when we contacted the site, they said the order had been cancelled. They hadn't communicated this with us until I chased them - and since they take 24+ hours to reply to every email and don't have a contact number, it's now too late and the cleaner has left - and we STILL don't have her expensive gift hamper.
Wouldn't use the site again, it looks professional but feels scammy.

Easy to use and can include gifts, cards and vouchers.

Setting the pot up, collecting money from people, editing pot details - all a breeze. Withdrawing from the pot? Not so much. Trying to get help? Again, not so much.
Basically, the digital card sent to recipient had no indication there was even money to go with it. Tried troubleshooting on our own for a while, but there was no real info on the website and we couldn't figure it out.
Tried the chatbot, but it kept ending the chat as soon as it answered my initial message. Said I wanted to speak to a human, said human took about 20-40 minutes to respond, then ended the chat within a couple minutes because I didn't respond immediately. Got back in touch and had a v slow and unhelpful conversation with the person, who seemed to be working from a really prescriptive script or something. Gave up after a while.
Tried again the next day and got a faster response, but the same scripted and unhelpful answers that made it seem like they weren't actually reading my messages.
Gave up, removed the recipient, took the money out myself, and bank transferred it myself to the recipient.
Such a pain! Wouldn't use again or recommend to anyone.

I think collection pot is ok but could be easier to navigate. Hard to work out how to download the names of those who have donated and difficult to work out how to transfer into bank account rather than vouchers. I think the charges are quite expensive too many less for our teacher overall. I won't be using again in the summer term and will try and find a free platform .

Appalling service. It took me nearly a week to verify my identity which meant I couldn't spend the pot we had collected for. The initial percentage they charge for every single donation is high, no problem if it is a simple and efficient service. It is not. I had to raise a ticket for the technical issues with verifying my passport. 3 tickets were raised. The only way to 'talkative an agent is via online chat. I was online for nearly 2 hrs 'chatting to be told they couldn't help me. Eventually I was verified and I managed to transfer my pot. I chose to not tip the service. Another fee for this 'free' service! But I ended up losing £7.92 on a pot £249. Disgusting customer service, Disgustingly expensive and honestly I couldn't go through it all again to get back the extra they took without permission.

Used it a number of times for collections at work. Often i don't know the person very well and previously bought amazon vouchers as this gives them so many options.
Couldn't get an amazon voucher this time, so had to call the person who was retiring and get them to choose. Will be looking at other collection options next time i need to do a collection.

Even though Collection pot have all my details when I set up the pot eg email, phone number etc. I had to put my passport in to get the money out. I had to tick I agreed to them storing this information otherwise I couldn't get the money out. With all these recent hacks to big companies I have no confidence for a company like this to hold my passport.

Blooming marvellous app!! The money transfer is instantaneous and you can edit the thank you messages!! I downloaded our class messages into Canva, then uploaded them into a Moonpig card. They looked fabulous.

Easy process. I remain dubious at all the fees that build up along the way - it feels like a lot but it is by far the easiest way to collect money!
Best thing was when pot closed I managed to transfer to my bank in seconds!

Really good service.
Money is transferred instantly and asks for code from email from security
Would recommend. Annoying about the fees but I guess it keeps the website running

It's easy to set up and use.
The reasons I don't give 5 are:
It will be good for the organisor to be albel to see a donation statement, to ensure all the contributors' names are included. (As they forget to put sometimes).
The admin fee charged by the platform is high. We are collecting on behalf of parents to teachers, it will be great if you can reduce the margin and help with the parents and the consumers.

Good site for collecting and with a good selection of e-cards. The perpetual request for 'admin fees' can be a bit frustrating, as this comes up each time a donation is put through and then at the end to process the end payment as well!
Overall ok.

Easy to use and a great idea but extortionate "tip" costs are outrageous and so I won't use again! Bare faced rip off! A one off fee would be so much better!!

Really disappointing experience with your app. I was trying to set up a birthday pot, then send a voucher to someone and clicked "birthday" innocently, and the pot was called "My birthday", not what I had in kind at all. I managed to correct it to the person's name, but with her birthday tomorrow, still have not got the voucher to send.

Easy to use and a great way to collaborate and collect for events and special occasions. Works well for my various work and community groups that I organise events for. Big advocate of CP!!

Easy to setup
Lots of people just wanna message. Great for dispersed teams and transparency, wheres the non financial commitment option for those who dont want to give a percentage to a company in lieu of the full amount?

Update following Collection Pot's response below the original review------
This platform charges £2 per transaction! We're collecting money for my son's teacher's gift and they're an absolute ripoff.
I recommend not using them.
New update----
Following the response from collection pot I checked a couple of things.
1. They say it's optional but the messaging while contributing is incredibly misleading effectively recommending you add £2 if you want the recipient to get the full amount. From a class of 30 children, not a single parent understood the actual fee is not £2 so we have all effectively contributed much more than we'd have liked to.
2. Collection pot replied using terms like "anything extra helps keep Collection Pot running smoothly" & "Just a simple way to support a platform that helps you collect, organise, and celebrate without the hassle."
Their response gives the impression that they are some charity or non-profit that's here to help.
I run a search for 'Collection Pot Limited' and found a small privately owned company with over £2,300,000 in the bank.
This echoes many other reviews here and I believe this business is using somewhat misleading comms while often gaining more than 20% from our pots.
