The Scammers

The Scam
A professional-appearing individual named so called James Morgan advertises lead generation services on Facebook, specifically targeting new business owners. He claims to understand small business challenges and offers seemingly reasonable prices £500 per month for promised results:
• 10-15 calls per month with 2-3 booked client meetings

Red Flags to Watch For

1. Recycled Client Lists: The scammer showed identical client lists to me and my friend, revealing they don't have unique relationships with these supposed clients.

2. Extended Unavailability: James claimed to have COVID continuously from October 2024 through January 2025 (an unusually long period) to avoid accountability. Though he tried to attend video team calls most of the time coughing. Always mentioned his girls gave him. Most of the times he was sick or always stuck with school runs.

3. Fake Client Meetings: They staged a fraudulent client meeting with their team of scammers posed as an interested prospect, complete with forged email correspondence.

4. Delayed Deliverables: Pushed all promised meetings to January claiming to "use your money wisely" - a tactic to extend the scam timeline.

5. Communication Breakdown: When pressed, James claimed company phone lines weren't working and began using personal numbers with no called ID before completely disappearing.

I strongly recommend against using the services of "Cold Calling Expert - James Morgan." Based on my experience, they appear to be scammers who do not deliver legitimate services.

Poor Experience with Cold Calling Expert - James Morgan

As a new business owner, I was drawn to services that claimed to understand the challenges of small businesses. When I found James Morgan (though I'm not even certain that's his real name), he presented himself as someone who supports small businesses with client development at an affordable price.
In October, I paid £500 for one month of services with the promise of:

10-15 calls per month
2-3 booked client meetings
Qualified leads in my industry

A friend with a similar business also signed up separately, which is where the red flags began to appear.

Red Flags I Noticed:

Identical "Hot Leads" - He shared an Excel sheet with me listing companies he'd contacted, highlighting about 10 "great potential clients" with 2 supposedly ready to sign contracts. Later, my friend and I discovered we'd both received identical lists with the exact same "hot prospects" despite having different business niches.
Constant Cancellations - The promised meetings were consistently postponed or cancelled. There was always an excuse.
Personal Excuses - Every conversation included stories about him or his family being ill. He claimed to have three daughters (even shared photos) but given everything else, I'm questioning the truth of these personal details.
Holiday Stalling - When Christmas approached and no clients had materialised, he convinced us that January would bring results, persuading us both to pay for a second month.
Complete Ghosting - By mid-January, after receiving our second payments, he essentially disappeared, leaving us both feeling scammed.

Final Thoughts
As small business owners, we invested our limited funds for business development only to be taken advantage of. I'm sharing this experience to warn others - be extremely cautious with cold calling services that promise quick results with minimal investment. This particular provider demonstrated a pattern of deception, duplicate promises, and ultimately failed to deliver any meaningful service.
I strongly recommend avoiding any services from "Cold Calling Expert - James Morgan" based on this experience.

A BUNCH OF THIEVES !!

I echo the modus operandi followed by these small time operators and as someone said James is always sick. Same experience and conned off £600 ! Had 2 client calls supposedly booked on Zoom and no show on the day ! There is another name to this tribe called Nafessa ! she is also a part of this group. Maybe a Group claim against this lot is needed. STAY FAR AWAY and go with your guts of NEVER paying any advance for any service. Unfortunately start up and small businesses are desperate and thereby gullible for the JAMES's of the world to prey upon.

Don't touch unless you're fond of burning your cash

Only reason they get one star is because I can't leave zero. A charlatan organisation. James Morgan was plausible and seemed pretty professional prior to taking my money. Red flags...non VAT registered and change of bank despite only trading for a short period...I should've listened to my gut! As soon as they had my money there was nothing, no reports, no activity and absolutely no leads. James is either the unhealthiest or unluckiest guy in the world as every time I managed to pin him down he was sick or in A&E. No retuned phone call, no replies to email and absolutely nothing to show for the time and expenditure of engaging with this company. I cannot stress enough that you should never engage with this collection of grifters (Auvey Group) or anyone representing them. A quick search this morning and it would appear they've fleeced enough small business have have now closed the doors on this snake oil business before, no doubt, opening the next one to part small businesses from precious resource for absolutely no return.

Avoid Cold Calling Experts – Unprofessional and Untrustworthy

My experience with Cold Calling Experts (operates under (AUVEY GROUP LTD Company number 15557548) has been nothing short of a nightmare. Despite their promises of delivering quality leads, not a single lead was generated throughout the engagement of 5 weeks.
Adding to the frustration, there was absolutely no support or follow-up on their part to address the situation or rectify their failures.

What’s worse, they have not honored their contractual obligation to refund 50% of the fees as stated in our agreement. I’ve had to escalate the matter and am now pursuing a claim through Small Claims Court.

Key issues:

1.No results: Zero leads generated despite their assurances.

2.No accountability: Completely ignored attempts to address the issue or seek resolutions.

3. Breach of contract: Failed to refund the agreed 50%, leaving me with no choice but to take legal action.

4. Poor professionalism: No communication or effort to make things right after failing to deliver.

Save yourself the time, money, and headache—stay far away from this company. If you value results and professionalism, look elsewhere.

Use at your peril

So, first and foremost, i do not like leaving any business any kind of negative review, but based on my experience with this company i felt I should leave my own experiences,

First and foremost, i beliebe this company advertise on facebook to target small businesses or one man bands, i say that because since dealing with a cpmpany AFTER dealing with this co, i soon found out the right way.

OK, so hired this co to get me qualifed leads, bascially people who are business owners who would like to come on a podcast, a video podcast. James from cold calling experts had a simple brief.

Tell the company owner about the podcast and whats it about, tell them they had to travel to us to be filmed, and lastly, if the podcast went well theyd be offered the opportunity to sponsor it.

80% of the leads he got us, well they dodnt answer their phone nor reply to emails to us.

10% called us back to ask if we had anything to do with cold calling experts and wanted a refund from them, when I asked why, they said, they were called by James and told, "my mate has a podcast to promote businesses and you would benefit from it, would you like to go on". So they though I had something to do with business as they thought i was his mate and NOT a paying client.

The others that did attend for a podcast, they had a really nice time, but knew nothing about sponsorship or what it involved.

My reason for writing this review is 2 reasons, the first is, I dont appreciate small businesses being "preyed" on having their cash taken and someone not doing what they have been paid to do, let this be your only warning.

The second is, even AFTER all this, I emailed and text james to give him the opportunity to put it right, but rather than say yes and fix it all he did was say, Ive got you 3 new qualified leads, (none by the way which ever came thorugh) not that I was bothered by now, im just more annoyed my time has been wasted and this guy thought he could take me for a mug.
