Read the small print!!

After seeing other reviews its seems i had the same issue as many others. The website was not very clear,so I ended up paying £45.00 for just an account. After some back and fourth, and speaking to a few different people from the clear check customer service team, I was told by David that I was not entitled to a refund, but I would get a partial refund. Eventually I was given a full refund in return for updating my review by another memberof the team, which I am grateful for. Read carefully before entering your payment details! I still think this company are a little crafty. Kathryn from customer service is their only saving grace.

Really poor

Really poor. I need an enhanced dbs for my job. After paying £104.00 in total they sent a standard dbs, that i could've got from the government site for £20. Trying to get ahold of them to rectify is a joke.
I would not recommend clear check.

I had a very frustrating experience…

I had a very frustrating experience using Clear Check for my basic DBS application. The whole process took far longer than expected and ended up costing me much more than it should have.

Initially, I was charged £86, and then I was repeatedly asked to pay extra fees — £15 for “fast track” and £18 for ID verification. In total, I paid around £120 for something that can be done through the official government website for about £20.

On top of that, the ID verification process was extremely stressful. They kept asking for multiple types of documents and different proofs of ID over and over again, which made the whole process confusing and time-consuming.

Another major issue is the lack of proper customer support. There is no direct contact number or even an email address. The only way to communicate is through their website messaging system, which is very confusing and difficult to use. It was frustrating trying to get help or clear answers.

I chose Clear Check because I needed my DBS quickly for my private hire taxi licence, but instead of being fast, the process dragged on and caused unnecessary stress. It definitely did not deliver the service I was expecting.

I would not recommend using this service to anyone. It’s far better to go directly through the official government website, which is cheaper, clearer, and more reliable.

I hope Clear Check sees this review and considers refunding my money.

It was a fine experience

It was a fine experience. Until the check completed and I needed to access the portal to retrieve the final document. The registration provided to me began with a capital letter. When pasting the registration number in the portal, it wou not allow the letter to be capitalized. Thus it was incorrect and would not allow me to login. So I had to wait for the paper version to be posted to me.

Really expensive service

Really expensive service, a website designed to catch you out and sign you up for more expensive services and the linked company that does the document checks is equally bad. Use the service on the government website and save yourself a lot of time and money. Complete waste of time using this service.

Confusing and disapointing

I thought I was signing up for and enhanced DBS check but ended up with a basic check and subscription for a monthly account. As well the cost of the check was unclear until I'd already paid. Their only respons was that it's clear on their website which for me it was not. Why would I pay more then expected for something I didnt need? Really disapointed and now out of pocket.
