⚠️ BUYER BEWARE: Fake Photos & Cheap Trash!
⚠️ BUYER BEWARE: Fake Photos & Cheap Trash!
Please be careful buying from online boutique websites. A massive wave of websites appear to be using fake, AI-generated images to advertise premium products that in fact don’t exist!
In good faith I purchased from Jarah Melbourne (appears to also be known as Clararosemadison), a beautiful Quilted Tote Bag with Leather studded handles, featuring Hummingbirds and Orchids.
I was charged a premium price including what they called “shipping protection” despite advertising FREE Shipping.
Unfortunately, what I received from China not Melbourne, was an item that looks nothing like the picture.
Instead, I received a crappy quality bag, made of flimsy, paper-thin fabric with an image flat-printed onto it — which looks like something you would buy from a $2 discount store.
To make matters worse, when I requested a full refund including shipping, even offering to return the bag, they refused to honour their "30-Day Money-Back Guarantee" posted on their website.
Instead, they offered a “special personal discount” followed by offers of insulting partial refunds.
Jarah Melbourne’s business model is highly deceptive and misleading in its conduct, despite guarantees very visible on their website.
It appears there are numerous companies using the exact same deceptive and misleading images across multiple different website names.
If you have been caught like me, please lodge a dispute with your bank, lodge a complaint with Department of Fair Trading, and tell your story all over social media naming the company that ripped you off, ensuring awareness of these scammers is widely spread.
