Great community 👍
I went to a social event in London through CitySocializer. It was a Darts game with very down to earth, nice people, and we've had great convos and a lot of fun. Since it's for grown ups over 25, the community is filtered and you just get "normal" people that don't turn you off. Can't wait for the next Social!
I didn't pay anything, other than my share at the darts venue. Maybe they'll start charging later but for now, CitySocializer is free to join and attend Socials.
Nasty money grabbing people who run…
Nasty money grabbing people who run their events like its the Third Reich. No sense of integrity or professionalism, if there is a complaint they splash it all over social media in an attempt to belittle you a ruin your social life for ever. Sad, pathetic little people.

Fake
I regularly receive invitations from fake profiles. Responding also requires you to pay for a subscription! Don’t waste your money! Seems like a very shady website! There are much better websites to meet people such as Meetup.com
Thieves
Thieves. Their membership is already a rip off, they increased it with the excuse of energy costs - how is it relevant since socials are organised in public places? And now, they charge you a cancellation fee even when you've cancelled within the deadline and their responses are dehumanised. No refund, no communication possible. They turned into a scam
Do not appear to be Data Protection/GDPR compliant
Firstly, they should've purged my records by now as I have not engaged with their services for many years. However, when I try to unsubscribe from their emails, it is impossible without having to fill in 8 tabs/pop-up windows worth of information (eg what city am I currently in, which is my work vs home neighbourhood etc). I can clearly see my profile details behind the pop-up windows BUT I can't get to it until I waste my time to fill in their forms AND, even worse, give them personal information I do NOT want to give them as I don't plan to use their services. In fact, the very act of unsubscribing indicates this... I have just emailed them a complaint about this and if they do not respond within 30 days will report them to the ICO.
people behind this platform are…
people behind this platform are thieves. I canceled the free trial on the due date (bc I decided it wasn't for me..a bit boring as I'm young) and their excuse was "you are still booked to events" -duh! that was when I first *signed up*, bc I had faith in it (otherwise would I have canceled??) and then they charged £5/10 for what? (what was the miss attendance for? the BAFTA'S? if I naturally canceled the trial was BC I was clearly not going to attend any more events). You Citysocialiser entrepreneur/s-wannabe should learn a thing or two about business models or better said how to be a proper con artist. Ya'll Do not sign up for this lame platform, they'll be better ones definitely. Give the refund back, since your platform is oh so ever 'successful' ;)
Lovely people, but owners are stealing thieves and con artists.
When I first joined this group I was very happy. Everyone that I met was lovely and very friendly. I have no problems with the people I met online or in person. However, I have not participated in this community for for at least 4 months. Yet today, on ready my bank statement I find that £35.97 was taken from my account on 29th March. I never signed up for this. My account payments were for a certain amount of time which expired last year. I want my money back or I shall contact them directly and take this matter further though I should not have to do so, especially since I live with lifelong health problems.I have also not seen a member of CS for well over a year. No complaints against the members. A full refund from CS or a review on Trustpilot, no company wants that. Talk about taking of covid? Shameful
Shoddy unsubscribe process is
To unsubscribe to the emails I had to login, which then forced me to complete my profile by uploading a picture and answering many pointless questions. Very bad UX, just need a pre-authed link in the email like everyone does.
No refunds
I signed up, looks like there's loads of people in my area. Decided to upgrade to a premium account. After that, I search through all the profiles, and see that everyone joined in 2017/2018, no one's been active in the past 2 years. Can't get a refund for the £30 I paid. Not happy.
Awful
Awful. It takes 3 days to delete your account! You have no rights to take your own profile off immediately when you decide. You are being forced to be on it for 3 days!!! This should be illegal! Also no way I'm going to pay to find friends!
Very Unhappy

Asked to set up my own group
I thought I was joining a social site not having to start my own .
Jan 2020 another wasted £ 59.99 left my account . Tried contacting their online service desk and received no reply . Cancelled my membership and had my bank put a block on them to prevent any further expensive wasted payments . Caveat emptor
WASTE OF MONEY. NO ACTIVE MEMBERS IN MY CITY
Waste of money
No members attending any prearranged socials. All members in the friends in my city appear inactive having joined years ago. Even looked at nearby cities (well, near as in over one hour away), they also had no attendees for upcoming socials.
Waste of money. MeetUp is free and very hands on, so try there instead.
CitySocialiser will make you feel more lonely not less!
The worse website I ever encountered
The worse website I ever encountered , most times does not allow me to join socials or open the even to see more details avoid it !
Sincerely regret paying for membership!
Dont use outside of major UK cities; its a ghost site
I signed up to City Socialiser as I was moving to a new city for work; before arriving I didn't know anyone in the city, so I thought this would do the trick in meeting new people. Through using the platform as a subscribed, paid member for a month I experienced the following: socials were poorly attended (maybe 1-3) people. No one hosts any events besides the 'automated' ones running on the site (at best one event a month). This was surprising considering the city I moved to isn't exactly a small place, it's a city bustling with multiple
universities and thriving industries. I would advise against using this platform if you live outside the big cities. The UX/UI design is very poor and not intuitive. You also have to pay for certain packages, for what? Why not just make it a paid and unpaid service (1 subscription only). I was also curious before making unjustified payment of £14-15 for a months membership as to why they didn't have a trial period, even for 3-7 days. Now I know why. For reasons listed above.
Fairly strange goings on
Fairly strange goings on. I went out on a citysocialiser event then got reproached by someone in there manage to who left me a rather snotty message that someone had complained about me. Thing is i had not actually met the person who had complained ??!!!? They then left this bizarre inaccurate example of what I’m supposed to of said with this member of management which didn’t make sense in English, then told me to ‘upgrade’ my account despite myself already having paid for several months upfront and attending just one event. What a scam these people are running. I declined to attend the next event and have asked for a complete refund with none returned.
Scam!
Don't pay this company! It's a scam! The Manchester one is the same places, same hosts & nobody new adds to the list going.
There pay monthly button doesn't work,& they scam you into paying quarterly!
I am lucky I had a good bank!!!
They are expensive and get really bad…
They are expensive and get really bad to you when you cancel only one social
Sneaky hidden auto renewal, no refunds!
Sneakily hidden auto renewal and no refunds for membership if you fall foul of their hidden renewal terms and conditions.
It does not let you know on the mobile and app platform, and to cancel or cancel auto-renew you need to use a desktop browser and navigate through the various menus.
As a product, the socials I went on were good and had a laugh but I didn't feel it was value for money at £35. Along with questioning the ethics of making it very difficult to cancel.
Luckily you can request a refund through your credit card provider if like me you weren't made aware you had been entered into an automatic renewal and the terms and conditions weren't clear, e.g. hiding auto renewal and no refunds within lots of T&C's.
Impossible to cancel the VIP payments
Impossible to cancel the VIP payments - which you have no option of auto renewing. They've deliberately hidden it, the only way I found to do this was to cancel my account, and with this level of dishonesty I was more than happy to do so.
Avoid - complete waste of time!
