Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 6,329 reviews, reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Many customers enthusiastically praise the platform for offering an exceptionally easy interface, smooth purchasing processes, and secure escrow services that protect both buyers and sellers alike. Reviewers frequently note the remarkably fast shipping times, secure packaging, and the extensive selection of authentic luxury timepieces available from highly trusted international dealers. However, some people mentioned that a small number of watches experienced unexpected mechanical faults or stopped working entirely shortly after arrival. A few other people also felt that third-party delivery carriers caused frustrating shipping delays or mishandled packages during transit.

I think is very easy to navigate and deal with the platform… I had use buying a few watches and I am satisfied so far. Of course, same times the seller don’t posted very accurate listing but chrono24 help to resolve issues.

I recommend this site. But always use common sense when you purchase a watch as you should do always.

Partner Certified Meant Very Little When I Actually Needed Chrono24’s Help

I purchased a 2006 Breitling Super Avenger from a professional dealer through Chrono24. The watch was sold as Chrono24 Partner Certified, which was an important factor in my willingness to purchase a roughly 20-year-old luxury watch internationally.

Because the watch had no documented service history, I voluntarily sent it to Breitling's official U.S. service center for a complete preventive service. I fully expected to pay for that service myself.

Then Breitling opened the watch.

Breitling advised me in writing that the watch had previously been worked on outside of Breitling. They found that the dial was off-center with broken dial feet and identified damage in the crown tube area requiring replacement of the middle case. Breitling classified replacement of the dial and middle case as mandatory. Those two components alone cost me $1,357.59.

I contacted the selling dealer and asked them to contribute only toward those two mandatory replacements. I did not ask them to pay for the complete Breitling service, normal maintenance, cosmetic work, or the other work I requested. I paid all of that myself.

The dealer refused and disputed Breitling's findings based on the opinion of its own watchmaker.

That is when I turned to Chrono24.

I specifically asked Chrono24 to review whether the condition of the watch was consistent with what a buyer should reasonably expect from a Chrono24 Partner Certified watch and whether the conditions subsequently discovered by Breitling should have been identified or disclosed.

Chrono24's response was astonishingly unhelpful.

Rather than addressing Partner Certified or the manufacturer's findings, Chrono24 sent me what appeared to be a generic response explaining that EU dealers must provide warranties and that Chrono24 is not involved in a dealer's warranty obligations after the 14-day return period.

That wasn't what I asked.

So I wrote back and made the issue unmistakably clear. I specifically told Chrono24 that this was not simply a warranty claim. I asked them three direct questions:

Was the condition of this watch consistent with the standards applicable to a Chrono24 Partner Certified watch?

Were the conditions subsequently identified by Breitling matters that should have been identified or disclosed during the Partner Certified process?

What protection or assurance does the Chrono24 Partner Certified designation actually provide to a buyer in circumstances like mine?

Chrono24 never responded.

Not one answer to any of those questions.

Meanwhile, I authorized Breitling to complete the repairs and paid the bill myself. Breitling has now returned the watch after its factory service and restoration. It looks absolutely fantastic, and Breitling also issued a Certificate of Authenticity confirming that, at the time of examination, the watch and its component parts were authentic.

I am thrilled with my Breitling.

I am absolutely not thrilled with Chrono24.

Anyone can operate a marketplace when transactions go perfectly. The value of buyer protection, certification programs and customer support becomes apparent when something goes wrong.

I bought a Partner Certified watch. The manufacturer subsequently discovered significant conditions requiring mandatory replacement of major components. I provided Chrono24 with the details and asked them to address what their own Partner Certified designation meant under those circumstances.

They first answered a question I wasn't asking.

When I corrected that misunderstanding and specifically asked them to address Partner Certified, they simply stopped responding.

That experience has seriously changed my perception of the protection Chrono24 provides after a sale.

If you are buying an expensive pre-owned watch through Chrono24, particularly a vintage or older watch, my experience would lead me to recommend having it inspected by the manufacturer or another qualified expert immediately after receiving it, regardless of whether it is labeled Partner Certified.

A certification or buyer-protection program is only as meaningful as the support behind it when a problem is actually discovered.

In my experience, when I finally needed Chrono24 to stand behind the questions raised by a Partner Certified transaction, the support I expected simply wasn't there.

I buy and sell on the platform and…

I buy and sell on the platform and appreciate the improvements. But as a Seller or Buyer, having the ability to see how much a watch has sold for in the recent past helps set expectations for both. I think this would greatly decrease negotiation time.
