Chris Bowers & Sons Reviews 

Ordered 2 trees on the 15th March, website states all orders are dispatched within 3-5 days. No delivery, no contact other than acknowledgement of order, with no receipt or order number. No response to emails, FB message, contact form submission and constant voicemail without allowing you to leave a message. Seem to trade under multiple different names. Very concerned that this company is disreputable and has taken £57 from me.

Quick, positive update to the tale below.
I've had a refund on my credit card after raising a dispute, plus, a very nice replacement vine has arrived from Chris Bowers. Still no contact from the company but at least they've done something in response to my emails and photos, hence adding an extra couple of stars. If they've got problems I wish they'd let us know. Can't help worrying about an old established business (if true?) that's now obviously having difficulties. 2nd or 3rd generation management? maybe AI? who knows - well, probably Chris Bowers.

Order placed on 7th Feb 2026
Called on Monday 9th March to chase late order as I was going on Holiday 13th March. I was informed order would be delivered Wednesday 11th March.
Called on Thursday 12th March as order not delivered and was informed someone would contact the couriers and get back to me. I've heard nothing.
During my Holiday I received an email from the courier that drop off would be taking place the next day. I emailed the company, from Holiday, again on the 17th but again received no reply.
Since returning from Holiday I have again emailed, used the website contact form and made numerous phone calls which are answered "call minder is full and can't accept any more messages" then the line is cut. Lovely.

No delivery after 8 weeks. No answer to emails. Phone blocked when tried to call. No refund . Avoid
Still no delivery or refund 4 weeks later

Ordered fruit trees, never despatched, no replies to emails. No response to request for refund. PayPay refunded immediately

Apple trees arrived within the specified time scales (7-28 days) and appear to be excellent quality.... very important order for us as they are for a special planter for our beloved late Border Collie...a fitting memorial for a beautiful boy who loved the garden and the great outdoors.

5 stars for this epic failure.
This company does not deliver as ordered.
Then it does not communicate.
BE AWARE AND THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU BUY.
My order was placed on 23 February for delivery in the week commencing 16 March - I was told that this would not be a problem!
But the trees were sent out two weeks ahead of time when the (new build) house was unoccupied, pre-Completion.
Immediately I heard about this from the courier, on 4 March, i made several attempts to contact Chris Bowers & Sons, to flag the problem - leaving messages and sending emails, but I received no reply.
The courier also tried to contact Chris Bowers & Sons, to arrange for the trees to be returned, but also received no response.
I am still unsure what happened to those trees.
Eventually, after numerous unanswered calls to Chris Bowers & Sons, on 18 March I was told that (replacement) trees would be sent out in the week commencing 23 March.
However, this has not happened - once again, although I have called and emailed several times, Chris Bowers & Sons have remained silent.
I have taken my business elsewhere and am now seeking to recover my payment.

I came across this site on Google while looking for a dwarf cherry tree, seemed reasonably priced and simple to order, so went ahead and ordered. I received a confirmation email shortly after and read the delivery dates which stated between 7 and 28 days, with delivery usually taking place within 7 days.

Now, I quickly thought I'd look up reviews for peace of mind and just see what everyone has to say about their experience with this company. There were some positive comments which were swarmed with negative ones. I did panic slightly, but I know the internet can be a place where stories can be written with a very bitter mind with unfortunate circumstances. So I still gave the company the benefit of the doubt.

7 days passed and I still had no email, I refrained from emailing and let the process continue until 11th day, I received an email from the courier which was APC confirming a delivery time slot. I amended the delivery situation to leave my parcel at the side if the house as no one would be home.

I received an email confirming delivery with a photo of proof. I arrived home and see the tree had been packaged very well with hay in a heavy duty paper sleeve. The tree was intact and tied to prevent branch breakages. I see the buds are there, along with the tag confirming which tree it is.

As it stands, credit where it's due. The company has sent out an item within it's timeslot and the tree appears to be in good condition. Now to see if it responds to being planted up and hopefully I get some blossoms. I think it's always going to be hit and miss ordering plants online and I'd still always recommend local if you can to avoid disappointment. This is the first time I've ordered a tree online and Chris bowers and son has delivered.

As a garden designer, I have ordered from this company many times and always found their nursery stock excellent. Plants arrive swiftly and well packaged. Excellent customer service.

The site had what we wanted for a very good price and the delivery time was reasonable. The two trees were well wrapped in a paper package with straw (hurrah - no plastic!) and looked fine on arrival. Now they’re planted snugly in the garden we’re looking forward to seeing them come into blossom in the spring and eventually to some juicy pears!

First class service right from the start .
I had an email confirming my purchase and one when posted.
The tree was very well packaged and of good quality.
A follow up email to check I was happy is a really nice thing to do it shows good customer care. Thank you

Ordered a Dawf Gisela 5 Lapins cherry tree, email send back without order number, no one follow up. Called their CS, no one answer. Recommend paying them with PayPal, easier to refund

Ordered 7 fruit trees... all failed to show growth.
Contacted this company by email as impossible to get an answer on phone.
Received curt several line reply.." we would have expected you to contact us sooner "
Not signed, no apology or attempt to resolve complaint. Follow up email to them ignored.
Very poor company on several levels... customer service the worst I have ever experienced. Just curt and arguably rude.

Had several orders of great healthy trees from here. Great range and price. Really appreciate the plastic-free packaging also.

I have nothing negative to say. My two trees arrived very quickly and extremely well packaged. The communication was excellent and the trees appear healthy - they are bare root so I shall have to wait until the Spring to see any growth. I have used many online nurseries in the past, and Chris Bowers is by far the best one, the trees were really well protected in their packaging which was an added bonus. I certainly won't hesitate to use them again.

All good. The 3 trees wrre in perfect condition. The price was reasonable and delivered very quickly.
I will use again when needed and I will certainly be telling my allotment friends

Bare rooted plants seem in good health. Appreciated the compact packaging. Let's see how they are doing during the growing season. Their customer aftercare followed up after the order to see if any issues, which seemed a nice touch.

We looked at their tree’s last year, so a couple of weeks ago , we ordered 3 little fruit trees . After a few days they arrived,
well packaged and in really good condition. We are delighted with them ,
they’re in the ground now .

The range of fruit trees available was very good. The price was very reasonable. The trees arrived on time, well packed with straw wrapped around to protect them. They look in good shape. Fingers crossed that the fruit will be as good!
