Both guides were excellent , but very different approach. Both gave excellent service with a pleasant approach and attitude. The Tango dance experience exceeded our expectations ( we expected a tourist attraction--it was much better ) and the Argentinian BBQ was also good.
Antarctica was amazing and the crew were so nice.
Our Antarctic trip on board the Ocean Endeavour was fabulous. A truly unique experience that was delivered by an expert team. The service right from making our booking to the end of our trip was professional and easy.
* The Antarctica experience on Intrepid Ocean Endeavour was beyond my expectations. Too many good things to say on all aspects. I would have to write an essay!!
* The few days in Buenos Aires were great. The Tigre River delta experience was fascinating. We especially loved the dining experience at Hogons!! A wonderful experience. (The one small problem we had with that evening was that we were supposed to make our own way back to the hotel. We couldn’t get a taxi, even though an employee from the restaurant tried to get us one for half an hour before apologising and going back to the restaurant. After another half hour we started walking , eventually bailing up a taxi who’d stopped to get petrol. He charged us an exorbitant flat rate because he could see we desperate. We got back to the hotel after midnight.
* from the moment we checked in at hotel in BA communication was excellent, and stay e I’md that way until we boarded our flight home.
Wonderful experience to see the lights so close and amazing colour. Great inflight service from Qantas. Interesting facts and talks and camera hints.
A friendly helpful team who created an unforgettable experience. They took care of little details. Nothing was too much trouble. The expedition leader and team were so knowledgeable and so much fun.
The tours that Chimu created for me were everything I asked for and more. My bucket list of going to Macchu Picchu, cruising the Amazon, visiting the Inca temples in Cusco was ticked off.
The tour guides were knowledgeable, friendly, polite and answered all my questions.
I had 10 days touring Peru with Chimu.
Chimu made our holiday the best experience ever!
Chimu taylor made our adventure to Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
Every transfer, ever activity was on time and first class.
All accommodation was as per booking with no hidden and unexpected surprises.
Would definitely go with and recommend Chimu Adventures if you require a trouble free holiday 😀
Everything that was booked went to plan perfectly. I was a bit nervous at a couple of the big South American airports and was immediately met by a smiling driver. Any tours were fantastic and I felt confident that I was extremely well looked after.
In both the Southern lights flight and the Antarctica flight I loved how it was all coordinated, from the plane, service on the plane, the guest speakers on board, especially Daniel Bull. Questions were answered promptly, the staff friendly. I absolutely loved how Jessica had arranged my halal meal for the Sth Pole flight as I had forgotten to. Jess had remembered from the time of my Southern Lights flight..well done Jessica👍👏
The entire trip was a goal for 40+ years. Chimu made it all possible. Never thought it would be possible, but I achieved a dream of witnessing the Autos Australis.
My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our flight over Antarctica, we were looked after by chimu staff & quants staff. It was an amazing experience, something we had always thought about but never thought we would do but we are so glad we did,,,,
An organised and knowledgeable expedition team. Very caring team who made sure their passengers were safe. The team maximised our experience by adapting the itinerary when necessary eg because of weather, ensuring we visited amazing places and saw spectacular scenery and animals.
Efficient and well organised hotel staff on the ship.
I have always wanted to do this trip, I was absolutely in heaven on the flight. IT was on top of my bucket list. Would love to have taken my grandchildren on the trip. THANKS FOR THE GREAT FLIGHT.
Trip was well organised, interactive and educational. It was a diverse group that we travelled with, very open minded and there was ample opportunity to view the scenary down below as everyone was flexible.
The staff onboard (from Chimu and Qantas) were exceptional and made our adventure very personable.
Whilst it was a very long flight, I wouldn't have gone with any other company but these guys.
Highly recommend and look forward to my next adventure with the Chimu team.
We were lucky with fabulous weather. The leaders and all the expedition staff were wonderful and more than happy to share their knowledge and experiences with us.
Crew and food on board ,wonderful.
All the crew and leaders were helpful to me as I am 81but they helped me to take part in all the activities. A fabulous trip !!!
Chimu are solely a money making enterprise. They charter but are not responsible for great service by hospitality and crew of ships nor for the great leadership of the expedition team. As a previous comment pointed out they are lacking in crisis management and take credit card details by knocking on cabin doors at 11pm implying that if you don’t hand this over there and then you will not get home.
Then when the charter flight is delayed this money is kept by them for nearly 2 weeks without providing a service. They chartered the flight on our behalf with our money and after repeated requests failed to give us a breakdown of the costs. They took advantage of vulnerable people and made money out of it.
And then the owners had the hide to say they understood what we were going through. They weren’t there, had no true idea and weren’t even sympathetic enough to leave their own personal troubles out of videos delivered while we were in limbo.
While making themselves out to be the heroes in the situation.

I was on a 3 week Antarctica/South Georgia/Falkland cruise during the Coronavirus. Our cruise had to be cancelled 1 week before the planned end. Not only that we missed one entire week, but leadership was also lacking. Even the expedition leader left before every other passenger with some other staff. Very bad crises management and poor communication. Chimu denies any kind of refund or compensation for the missing part. Leaves the cruise with a very bad aftertaste.
The Chimu representative forgot or lost papers we had to fill in. They were not good in communication and lack of experience. One of Chimu representatives brought their parents and just spend time with them. Not helpful =(

Hubby and I were very much looking forward to travelling to Peru with Chimu adventures.
In fact, we would have been heading there next week en route to exploring Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley.
Unfortunately Covid-19 put an end to our travel plans (like so many other travellers) but to add insult to injury we have been informed that the full amount that we paid in advance to Chimu travel, is fully NON REFUNDABLE!!
That puts us considerably out of pocket!
Obviously we will NEVER book with this company again.
In the current climate, a little bit of goodwill would have gone a long way.

They cancelled and uncanceled my trip repeatedly before ultimately cancelling my trip and saying that they would be "unable" to give me my money back. Then they stopped responding at all after they decided to keep thousands of dollars of mine. Originally I was told that I would be refunded, then it seems like they decided that stealing from me was what they wanted to do.
Chimu has been completely disgusting in jerking me around and then stealing my money. Don't book with them unless you want them to steal from you and then leave you stranded.
