Stayed 3 nights at Ecocamp in Torres del Paine. Superb scenery. Great guides. Lots of Tasty VEGAN food. Unique accomodation. EXCELLENT! 10 day trip to ANTARCTICA on board the Ocean Endeavour. Amazing. Fantastic scenery and wildlife. Wonderful experience. Highly recommended. Safety was always paramount. Everything ran smoothly. Then Buenos Aires and Iguazu Falls. Very impressive.
More contact from agent would have been more professional.
Information sent was late, left to own devices to sort out an issue.
Easy to deal with, no major issues along the booking pathway and delivered on the destination experience.
The organization, punctuality and service were unquestionable. The experience itself was spectacular, we visited impressive scenarios and the procedures and safety margins were always respected throughout the journey. Life on board was very comfortable and the hotel service and gastronomy lived up to expectations. A Ping Pong table would have been very welcome. As for the activities, and as the only question I think they were all very correct but the rides in sodiac were sometimes a bit long while we waited for space to be made at the landing site.
Having the opportunity to venture a little further and explore would have been very popular with those of us who like mountains and trekking.
All the guides are super attentive and make the experience even more unforgettable! Thank you very much to all the staff on the boat, the hosts and everyone for making this a trip like no other.
We arrived at Loi Suites Hotel, Buenos Aires, at 8.40 pm on Monday 28th November after a very long flight from Brisbane Queensland, via Dubai and Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately, at the hotel, we found the bathroom floor wet (which we dried with towels) and the shower tap not working. The next day, hotel staff fixed those problems. There was a leaking seal behind the toilet and the shower tap was jammed. The hotel plumber took more than two hours to fix the probelms. On Wednesday the 30th November after returning from our Tigre Delta tour, and spending our own time in the city, we were told by the hotel staff that we were supposed to check out at mid-day and that we had to pay a 'late checking out' charge and to pack our bags. We did this very hurriedly and left them in the hotel lobby. In the meantime, the driver who was taking us to the Tango night wouldn't wait for us as we packed our bags, and so we had to get a taxi to the restauarant. I didn't have any pesoes so I had to give him US$25 for the fare. Coming back to the Loi Suites hotel after the Show, I had to do the same, which used up another $25 US dolars of the money I had. Our Itinerary had missed off the transfer from Loi Suites to Alvear Hotel altogether and we could not contact Chimu and we had been unable to get the "What's" suggested app. Loi Suites staff were very good and after a considerable time, by phoning around, they found the Alvear Hotel where we were supposed to be. The driver who brought us back to Loi Suites refused to take us to Alvear hotel until I paid him the remainded of my US dollars! It was very late when we got to Alvear hotel but a Chimu lady was still waiting for us and gave us instructions to be up next morning at 4.30 am for our transfer to the Buenos airport and our flight to Ushuaia. We had a couple of hours sleep after a very exhausting and worrying day.
we found the tour to the ranch disappointing. maybe it was our expectations.but we found it to be underwhelming .
we travelled to Antarticia with Ponant on their ice breaker Charcol. Antarticia a land of raw beauty, because we were an ice breaker we experienced areas that others could not go to. Yes we saw whales, penguins birds but how do you describe waking up surrounded by ice and snow as far as the eye can see or walking on the contanent. ponant went to extreme lenghts to ensure safety on zodiac excursions, including placing two people in the water all day to ensure safety when getting off the zodiac when surrounded by floating ice. It was a five star experience in everything on the cruise. Some areas to improve, we were advised to bring poles and waterproof back pack, Ponant supply these ,there were dress up nights which we were not advised of. The visa process for Chile is a nightmare. I never thought anything would get near galapogus but this did in a very different way.
Good guides, fantastic falls, pickups ok, accommodation a bit average
Cruise was great except for the last day. The was absolutely no communication re disembarkation and what the process would be. In the end, we just disembarked, there was no audit of who was exiting the cruise. We were told to meet in the lounge for instructions, but none were given and tea/coffee/chocolate making facilities were no longer available on the last day. Very poor way to finish a great cruise.
Great communication and Stephen was very helpful will all my requests and questions.
What an incredible Experience!
What a CREW-
Airline and Chimu Staff!
CHIMU certainly know how to look after their passengers.
Guide in Santiago was superb - knowledgeable & pleasant.
Antarctica was amazing - le commandant Charcot more than xolus be expected.
Booking & finalizing trip was difficult/ hard to contact agent & very difficult to find out details or make changes … disappointing !
Experience of a lifetime, best organisation I have had to completely organize the full journey.
This was a trip of a life time (Antarctica) and all the people from Chimu guided us through all the ups and downs and in the end it all ran smoothly
The good preparation could be seen as soon as I was greeted at the airport. Overnight hotel and breakfast was great. The morning in Ush waiting for boarding was enough to visit the prison museum.
Ship was in great condition and appeared well looked after. Crew helpful throughout trip.
Seemed odd that no one could find a suitable seafood provider for the meals. If we had seafoood we could have experienced what the local wildlife was eating.
Chimu put together a great adventure for us in Peru from Amazon tree house to Lake Titicaca to Lima street walk to Rainbow mountain. The agenda & accomodations and transfers were all well planned and ran smoothly for 3 weeks.
The trip was very well organised and the guest speakers were very interesting and informative. Everyone had the opportunity of having an excellent view of the scenery with the shuffling of the seating arrangements. The pilots did an excellent job of ensuring that everyone had a good view of the scenery and we were very lucky the weather was kind to us - there is nothing you can do about that. It was a beautiful trip that I would recommend to anyone.
The crew were fabulous. Friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, accommodating and flexible. The cabin attendant, the restaurant crew and the expedition leaders were all amazing.
