Century link has become a very deceptive company. Customer service is absolutely horrible. Most of it has been outsourced offshore. I wouldn’t expect Lumen/ centurylink to remain in business using the... See more

Review for Eric – Badge # EELIZO, CenturyLink, Idaho Falls, Idaho Office
I want to give a heartfelt shout-out to an outstanding representative named Eric (Badge EELIZO) in the Idaho Falls, Idaho office.
After spending an incredibly frustrating full workday dealing with overseas support, I was stressed, concerned, and nearly ready to walk away. When I finally reached Eric, everything changed. From the very first moment, he was professional, patient, and genuinely helpful. He immediately put my mind at ease, listened carefully to my situation, and took full ownership of resolving it.
Eric quickly reviewed the previous notes, provided me with a clear order number that I had been unable to get earlier, and guided me step-by-step on how to resolve the credit check issue. Thanks to his clear explanations and expert assistance, the entire matter was handled smoothly and efficiently. He restored my confidence not only in the process but in the value of quality customer service.
Eric is a true asset to CenturyLink. His knowledge, calm demeanor, and dedication turned a very negative experience into a positive one. In a time when excellent service can be hard to find, Eric stands out as exceptional. He saved the day for me and reminded me how impactful one great representative can be.
I truly value the time and care Eric invested in helping me. He deserves the highest recognition, a significant raise, and every possible reward his company can offer. CenturyLink should be incredibly proud to have him on their team.
Thank you, Eric! You are a shining example of what great American customer service looks like, and I am sincerely grateful for your help.
CenturyLink is the worst internet…
CenturyLink is the worst internet provider. Rude to non existent customer service. Slow speeds. Weekly outages and tons of short disconnects. Customer reps have been caught lying, telling customers whatever story to get them off the phone. CenturyLink is the slumlord of internet providers. 🤮🤮.
Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever! I've had an exposed line for almost four (4) years and no internet for months. You cannot get ANYONE on the phone to answer anything and they just keep billing you even with NO service and will take you you collections even when you don't even have service with them.
When it works
When it works, Century Link internet is fine. Good luck when it doesn’t though. I have been trying to get ours back up but the date they give me keeps moving. Has been out for almost a week now. They also still haven’t buried the line that they ran to our house over a year ago from the last time they fixed it. It is still draped done the length of our neighbors fence.
I would give 0 or negative stars if I would
I would give 0 or negative stars if I could. They are unwilling to accommodate the customers even when it’s their service that is the problem. 8-5 is the only time a tech can come and you are charged if they miss you. The amount they charge for their terrible service is absurd and there is no interest in making things right for the customer. Worst Internet I’ve ever experienced and even worse customer service.
CenturyLink is the worst phone company that you can have
Well CenturyLink takes your money then lies to you saying they didn't get your money I have fought with CenturyLink forever I'm sick of them their customer service reps are most rude and uncaring people very very rude people they do not care about anything I'm totally dissatisfied with CenturyLink they get a 000 and they're lower than a snake's belly they just take your money and lie to you they wait three months or four months and then tell you that you owe them this amount and then they continually harass you about how much that you owe them I've had it with CenturyLink they suck
As usual for this service I would give…
As usual for this service I would give no stars. Horrible, slow or no service available. Very good on taking moneys and not refunding for service that is unavailable. Customer support is the worst. Nor sure where they are outsourcing to but these people only good after 20 min to receive the transfer and tell you that will send technician subcontractor for $99 if that will solve the problems. Every time I call have same: reboot modem, pull cables. They not maintaining their lines. It's just the worse ever. Don't get it if anything else available.
Internet kept failing and crashing
Internet kept failing and crashing. Took a long time to reinstate it. I finally went over to Comcast. Please don't use this Internet service
The absolute WORST internet provider
The absolute WORST internet provider. I would never recommend to anyone. Always goes out, extremely slow, cannot stream multiple devices in house, what year are we living in?? Tech repair is never available to come out to fix internet until 2-4 days later, absolutely unacceptable!! Unfortunately, it has always been our only option in the rural area we live in. Supposed to be getting fiber optic, they installed the underground wiring and we have now been waiting for THREE YEARS for it be finished. Same run around every time we call for an update. Thankfully, we can now choose Spectrum and are switching to them. If you have other options than CenturyLink, go with the other option.
I guess you get what you pay for
I guess you get what you pay for. Their pricing is good but their service is garbage and their customer service is horrendous. Glad there are other options in our area and we will be switching soon.
Worst customer service and unreliable internet!
I have had several extremely frustrating experiences with CenturyLink, this is not just a one time issue. Their customer service, is without question, the worst I've ever dealt with. Representatives are consistently rude, dismissive, and seem completely uninterested in actually helping resolve problems. Every interaction feels like a battle rather than support.
The internet service itself is just as disappointing. Our connection cuts out frequently, almost every night around 10 pm, making it unreliable for anything important like work or streaming. For a paid service, this level of inconsistency is unacceptable.
I would absolutely not recommend CenturyLink. Save yourself the frustration and go with a different provider. There are far better and more reliable options out there.
Never use
Centurylink is by far the most consistently poorly preforming internet service provider in my area. Even if the weather is slightly off, then it will massively underpreform and often go down
I've been waiting a week - no resolution in site
I called CenturyLink on Friday because my father-in-law's internet went down. He has dementia and it comes with a lot of anxiety over his finances so he gets online and checks his accounts daily. On Friday, CenturyLink told me they would be out on Tuesday of the following week and that they would reach out Monday with a timeframe. I called on Monday after not hearing anything and they told me they didn't have a ticket for me. After some back and forth, they scheduled me for Wednesday - between 8 AM and 5 PM. They did show up around 2:30 but were unable to resolve the problem so told me they would be out the next day (Thursday). When I called to see when they would show up, they told me first that I wasn't scheduled and then that they would be here between 8-5 and that was the best timeframe they could give me. I checked again at 4:30 only to find out that they couldn't make it and I needed to reschedule for Friday (today). I've checked in 3 times today with the same result. They have now rescheduled for Monday, between 8am and 5pm I have to be at his home whenever they decide to show up as he is incapable of helping so have been working off my phone hotspot for three days. The only reason we haven't dropped them yet is the anxiety my FIL has to change. I don't typically write reviews but this has been over the top horrible service.
4 weeks of no service!
Our service went out 4 weeks ago at our business. It still has not been restored. They are stonewalling us with repair times, and honestly, I believe that they have completely written us off.
Frustrated with CenturyLink finer business practice
I was satisfied with CenturyLink for several years. I had bundled phone and internet service over fiber. Things went south when CenturyLink became Lumen and decided to get out of the residential business. When therstarted seperate billing an account numbers for phone and internet service, I realized that the phone service was exorbitant. Subsequently CenturyLink sold their fiber business in my area to AT&T, which does business as Quantum fiber. Next CenturyLink sent me an offer for a service called Air-Link, which provides home phone service via wireless link to a mobile network. The price is reasonable, so I switched. Switching phone services apparently triggered not only my former fiber phone service, but also my internet fiber service disconnected. It took me towo weeks of frustrating automated phone and chat conversations to ind out what had happened. They finally told me that I had to open a new account with Quantum fiber. Instead I used the CenturyLink website to request that they discontinue internet service an request a prorated refund from the time that my internet stopped working. They confirmed. I changed to GFiber--wich has been great so far. Although, it's more expensive, but it is technically superior and customer service has been great. There are two problems: first, ittwo billing cycles later CenturyLink continues to charce my bank account large amounts. They don't offer a itemized bill so I don't know what for. The phone service is pretty bad. There is a loud buzz and nlyone person can speak at a time. Their customer service says I installed it incorrrectly.
Internet service goes down every night
Internet service goes down every night. They say they can send a technician (for the 4th time) to fix it. The next technician appointment is 7 days from now.
CenturyLink customer for 32+ years....
I have been a CenturyLink customer for 32 years and have been billed from the 13th to the 13th each month. Recently, due to significant price increase over the past two years, I contacted them to downgrade my service. Despite calling 10 days after the billing cycle, I was charged the standard rate rather than the new package rate. Given my lengthy customer relationship and timely payments, I believe it's unfair that CenturyLink doesn't offer pro-rated adjustments like other service providers do within their billing cycles. 😔
They can't get new customers so they…
They can't get new customers so they don't let you get your account information for you to cancel.
Do not use Centurylink
Do not use Centurylink. They have the worst customer service of any Internet provider!!! Their technician did a remote reset to resolve constant disconnects of their service and after which we had no Internet service. They said they would send a tech out but if the issue was found to be a problem with the wiring in the home, they would charge 99.00. The tech replaced the faulty modem which was their equipment. And they fraudulently billed 124.00 and wrote on the bill it was for a Jack charge when nothing was done with the jack. The tech simply replaced their faulty equipment.
Our home phone has been without service for over two months
Our home phone has been without service for over two months. We’ve had 4 different dates for repair and each time no one showed up and no one called us. Each time we had to go into their website to find out what their new date was for the next “no-show” repair appointment. Century Link has the worst customer care of any company we have dealt with. Why doesn’t the Washington State Utility Commission do something about this substandard company??
