I have an unusual hearing loss…
I have an unusual hearing loss audiogram which I've been dealing with for decades. I have done my research and realize that most audiologists do not know how to program hearing aids for my loss because it is very rare. I have hearing aids from Costco which cost $1799 but I thought I will try CEENTA as my thinking was that a doctor of audiology would know more than just a licensed audiologist at Costco. I was wrong. Original programming of the new hearing aids with CEENTA that cost $6,400 was TERRIBLE and the things that were wrong were exactly what I expected to be wrong based on all my previous experiences with my unusual hearing loss. When I went back to get them re-programmed, it was like the audiologist was trying to be nice but was condescending and told me you said one thing and now you are saying another and he kept pushing to the point that I wanted to cry. That was it for me. When audiologists make me want to cry I'm done. Costco has NEVER made me want to cry. I gave them information on how to program for my loss and they embraced it with additional research. When I went to return my hearing aids and get over $6,000 back, they wanted me to just hand them to the receptionist without receiving anything stating I had returned them. WHAT? I'm supposed to just hand you SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS with no proof that you will reimburse me? They were very put out that I asked for something in writing stating I had returned the hearing aids. Oh - and the refund will take 2+ weeks. Sure didn't take that long for them to take the payment OUT of my account.
