I've been very pleased with my experience with CD Baby. I feel like they are partnering with the artists rather than merely profiting off the up and coming artists!

The distribuitor is great! It's pay per release not monthly subscription which I am happy about, it doesn't take too long to release a single. The only downside would be that I can't make an OAC on youtube, which is sad cause I wanted to connect my Topic channel to my personal channel, if this will be fixed in the future I would be very happy!

My exp is actually good

Everything was good except for they got the names mixed up on the songs, so they’re on two different platforms with two different names.

I was able to work side by side with the employees of CD Baby. Truly professional company.

If I could give CDbaby a zero, I would. It's changed since I uploaded my release in 2022, and not for the better. I've had metadata issues even after finalizing and confirming the correct data twice. It sucks to release something that wrong on the streaming platforms, even for basic composer and songwriter credits. Then they say no edits or corrections are allowed, even though this was their fault. Also, after removing my full catalog, they failed to take down a ghost release, so I had to manually remove it on each streaming platform. The customer service said, "This process can take time since it depends on their response, so we're not able to give an ETA, but we'll update you as soon as we hear back." I emailed each one, and it was taken down within hours. They don't do artist splits or 24-bit files. I lost out on money, but it's a learning experience for sure.

Experience was just the same it was really great keep up the good work

They give me a opportunity to release my music on almost all streaming services, and knowledge about it makes me happy

CD baby made the whole experience easy from start to finish.

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with CD Baby. I submitted my song “Making Money” for distribution, but my release has been stuck in the process and, until now, has still not been distributed to all the major streaming platforms.

The biggest problem is the lack of timely distribution and communication. As an independent artist, I invest my own money, time, and effort into recording, mixing, mastering, artwork, and promotion. When a distributor delays the release, it can seriously affect an artist’s momentum and promotional plans.

I chose CD Baby because I expected a professional and reliable distribution service. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. I have been waiting while my song is unavailable on some streaming services, and this is extremely frustrating when you are trying to build your career and reach listeners.

CD Baby needs to do much better when it comes to release inspections, distribution speed, and communication with independent artists. Artists should not have to keep wondering when their music will finally become available.

I honestly regret choosing CD Baby for this release. I hope they improve their service because independent artists deserve a distributor they can trust.

We started with the founder Derek Sivers. His company and our first CD release happened simultaneously. I have fond memories of Cali g the company and speaking to Derek personally if I had a question or needed advice :) we have since released 4 more CDs with CD Baby
