CD Baby offers one thing: distribute your music, and does it well. I can't give 5 stars just yet because my package hasn't arrived, and won't till May 22 (my chosen date). But, for a distributor... See more

About CD Baby
Written by the company
Music distribution is about getting your songs in front of the most people possible. That’s why over a million independent creators worldwide use CD Baby to release their music across all major digital streaming platforms like Spotify, TikTok and YouTube Music.
CD Baby makes releasing music affordable— all our distribution services for just a one-time fee of $9.99 per release, whether it's a single or an album. And whenever we add a new digital retail partner, your music catalogue will be delivered to them free of charge.
Many music distributors claim to offer free music distribution but charge additional per-retailer fees, annual subs fees, cancellation fees, and all kinds of hidden add-ons and upsells for additional services. CD Baby has no recurring subscription fees, so you don’t have to worry about us ever taking down your music if you miss a payment (there are no payments!)
CD Baby also offers Mechanical and Digital Performance Royalty collection and Sync Licensing as part of our Boost service, as well as our Stages program for emerging artists. Stages offers a suite of valuable artist services, moving with you as your artist career advances and unlocking new opportunities such as expedited release inspection, DSP playlist pitching, and more.

I appreciated the process
I appreciated the process , the platform intuitive navigation and the submission procedure were really efficient to me.
Excellent
The most important thing is that my music is now available on all platforms to share my musical project with the world. I am very satisfied with your work and collaboration with me. Thank you.
Excellent service
Excellent service. CD Baby got our album up and running on all platforms very quickly.
Good end result but frustrating communication
Overall, pretty easy interface and ended up with good results - but after a significant delay. I set up streaming distribution at least a month before I wanted to release the album, and specified a date for release. On the day of the release, I checked some streaming sites and nothing showed up. Trying to contact CDBaby is difficult. Can't speak with a real person. Have to go through a "support submission". A few days later someone got back and said a correction was needed. So after the month wait, I had to make a minor correction (never received the earlier communication they said was sent) and pay extra to move the reveiw to the "front of the line". So the streaming was finally released about a week after the release party.

Good Distribution, Slow Support
The distribution works, but customer support is extremely slow. Even after paying for priority service, I’ve gone 6 days without a response.
It’s also no longer possible to request a YouTube Official Artist Channel through CD Baby, and some platforms don’t display my band’s name correctly even though it was submitted with the proper spelling.
These are details that should be improved.

You waited a week to tell me I couldn't use my AI assist original work with no warning you had a policy against it. You didn't offer a refund. I found another service at a third the cost with 0 wait time.

Your system listed my middle initial in lower case, even though I put it in Upper case when I submitted the information for my track. I had to contact Spotify to have them contact CDBaby to correct it.
