Felt more like a money trap than parking management

I’m leaving this review to share my experience as a resident who was wrongly ticketed by Capital Car Park Control Ltd.

I live at the property where the PCN was issued and have the right to park there. I also had a valid resident parking permit displayed on my car at the time. Despite this, I received a ticket claiming that no valid permit was shown. Even their own photos show a permit was present — the issue was simply whether the patrol officer personally decided it was “clearly displayed”.

I appealed to the company explaining that I’m a resident with a valid permit. The appeal was rejected with generic wording saying “no valid permit was displayed”. I was never asked to provide a copy of my permit, nor given any clear guidance on what evidence they wanted. There was also no clear or objective definition of what “clearly displayed” actually means.

Because of this, I had no choice but to go to POPLA, the independent appeals service. Once I submitted my permit there, POPLA upheld my appeal and cancelled the charge.

What really frustrated me was the attitude afterwards. When I complained about how the case was handled, the company refused to acknowledge any mistake, declined to apologise, and even claimed the ticket was issued correctly despite losing at POPLA. They later blamed me for not providing the permit earlier, even though they never requested it, and then stopped replying to my follow-up email.

This whole situation caused months of unnecessary stress and wasted time for someone who followed the rules. Based on my experience, the way this company operates feels very close to a money-making trap rather than fair parking management, and I would strongly advise others to be cautious.

Infringement Notice issued with no evidence of infringement!
I was visiting my mother in a private housing estate where this company manages the parking. I parked my car in my mother's drive whilst visiting her. A month later, I receive an infringment notice based on a CCTV photo of my car entering the estate (not even parked!). I am now forced through an appeals process for an infringement that never happened nor can they substantiate. Sharp practice! Beware.

If i could give 0 stars I would

If i could give 0 stars I would. Paid to park, had receipt, bank statement and permit receipt via text message and they still sent a fine for £60. I sent them via email all receipts, as they won't help via phone, and they ignored then sent £100 fine. I have since notified landlords of properties i work for that use this company that I will no longer work in these properties. The company is NOT complying with regulations and still allowed to operate

Extorted After Doing Everything Right – Avoid Car Capital Parking!

I am absolutely disgusted by the disgraceful conduct of Car Capital Parking and their handling of a recent parking charge issued to me at Clarack Car Park, Aberdeenshire.

On 5th July 2025, I made multiple attempts to pay for my parking when I arrived. The machine was broken — completely unresponsive despite several tries. I returned after my walk, and only then did the machine finally work. I paid the full £3.50 as stated on their own sign, which clearly states that £3.50 is the set fee for the whole day, regardless of how long you stay.

And yet, despite doing everything right — despite their faulty machine — I was slapped with a £100 charge. I even filed an appeal, clearly explaining the issue, asking them to check the CCTV which would confirm my version of events. I went above and beyond to follow the rules. They simply did not care.
Now I'm being threatened with added fees and damage to my credit rating for a situation entirely caused by their own broken system. It's nothing short of predatory. They are taking advantage of ordinary people trying to follow the rules, then hiding behind automated processes to squeeze money from them.

This company operates like a scam. Just search around — I’m not the only one saying it. They don’t care about fairness, reason, or even evidence. They just want your money.
Avoid any car park run by Car Capital Parking. If you have the misfortune of parking in one of their lots, take photos, video, timestamped proof — because if anything goes wrong, they will not give you the benefit of the doubt.

Absolutely shameful behaviour.
Paid for parking, fined anyways!

Issued PCN though I paid

I had a terrible experience. I parked from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM and paid for parking from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM because it took around 30 minutes to access the JustPark app and complete the payment online. Despite paying for the parking, I was unfairly issued a Parking Charge Notice (PCN). When I appealed, it was rejected without proper consideration. This system is flawed, as they are issuing fines to people who have already paid. Completely unacceptable. Zero stars!

I had a very frustrating experience…

I had a very frustrating experience with Capital Car Park Control Ltd, managed by Terry Szmidt. I parked in a visitor’s bay twice as a guest, and they later claimed they sent numerous letters, which they couldn’t prove. I never received any communication from them.

They took me to court, but it was clear from the outset that they had no solid evidence to back up their claim, nor could they even prove that the land was theirs. In fact, the judge was so embarrassed by the lack of evidence and the time wasted on this case that it was almost comical.

This company is nothing more than a scam. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I highly recommend letting them take you to court. It’s a waste of their time, and you'll likely watch them fail miserably. Stay far away from Capital Car Park Control Ltd! There are people out there killing people and people dying yet these low life's spend their life making harmless people suffer!

Six years of fun

Since November 2017 we have been fighting an unfair parking charge. I'm glad we stuck with it because the charge has timed out and it's (I hope) cost them hundreds in legal fees. Same story as with others. Improper parking charge. Somehow they failed to receive or acknowledge our online response - despite them writing to us a "notice to driver" which means it MUST have been received. Complete failure to respond to a subject access request. We're only writing this review now because the opportunity for them to take us to court has passed. This company is non-compliant with its legal duties, non-compliant with its contracts with landowners and unprofessional. Our advice is (a) keep records of EVERYTHING (b) dispute the charge using their procedures (c) take pictures of where your vehicle was parked - both sides of the road, any parking signs (enough to be able to read the detail - their signs are crap so it will help), and double yellow or white lines etc. (d) make a subject access request every time they, their debt collection agents or solicitors contact you (e) report them all to the ICO when they fail to comply and (f) be hyper aware of the inconsistencies in all their letters. Stick to your guns and you will win - all their letters cost money :). NB original charge was Nov 17 but it is six years for these charges to time out.

I would give no stars if I could

I would give no stars if I could. These people are scum. Nasty money grabbing scumbags.

They take nothing into account they have an answer for everything.

My daughter couldn't get her ticket up to pay her fine we called them they said it has gone to the dept collection agency. Would not take into account that she tried to pay it.
